The Copper Fox Saloon

Cool atmosphere, awesome food menu, friendly staff. This location is «cursed» from its former management but I think the curse needs to be reversed. A pleasant experience, will definitely bring large groups here.

I went here to see my friend play in her band on a Friday night. The bar itself is beautifully designed with black leather semi circle booths, a large room in the back with private seating, a pool table, and plenty on TVs if you want to watch a game. The food and drinks are decently priced. However, the staff has no idea how to run a bar. It was like something out of the first few minutes of Bar Rescue. Two male customers were extremely drunk and obnoxious. One had made a bet on a football game and was screaming at the TV. The other was going up to every woman at the bar, rubbing his hands all over us and putting his face close to ours. He began instigating fights with the men who had come with a woman he was interested in (which was every woman, by the way). This was happening for over an hour and no one kicked him out. They «cut him off» when women were starting to complain even though he still consistently had a drink in his hand. The bartender gave me a free drink to «thank me for my patience» which did not solve the issue. It would have been very easy for the 2 male bartenders to kick this one guy out. After about 2 hours we had to leave. I will not be returning, I felt extremely uncomfortable there.

Wow. Who knew that the place I was hoping would open near me was already here??? This place is truly a gem. I am sitting here on a Thursday night and it is empty. People… please come here, we don’t want to lose it. Nice long bar, 5 huge gorgeous tv’s playing whatever football game is on tonight. Really comfortable semi-​circle booths. And the food! Whoa! I got the Ave Burger (mushrooms, onions, and cheese)…cooked perfectly. Extra side of fries and a side of onion rings, each served with their own dipping sauce. My son got wings and loved every one. There is a drink listed on the walk that sounds delicious… The Copper Fox ($ 9 as of 10÷8÷15) Ciroc coconut, oj, pineapple juice, splash of grenadine, splash of triple sec, gosling rum floater. Next time I will try it. Waitress said that during happy hours the apps are $ 5 each. Off the menu are pb&j wings with fluff dip (can I have one?). Loving this place!!! Who wants to come with me next time??? Let’s do this!!!

Being recently up from the South, they pull off a Mean Bourbon BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich… with a local twist on a Portuguese Roll with a side of Peppery Cole Slaw on the less wet side, and well seasoned curly fries. And for a surprise first night here they had a classic rock band and a Prohibition Era Burlesque trading the energies over the course of the night. Utterly fantastic!

I am very glad my friends and I decided on The Copper Fox Saloon. We were looking for a happy hour spot for a Thursday afternoon. We were the first ones there (they open at 4) and we were greeted by the bartender Emily. Emily was soooo nice and helpful from our drink selections all the way until we left.
Unfortunately, they did not have a happy hour menu. This place is currently under new management and they are currently working a menu out. (I hope it comes soon!) Emily suggested their signature drink, Copper Fox, and that is what we all had and loved.
They have a great menu of various apps, burgers, wraps, salads and 21 flavor selection of wings! We ordered wings, an order of Buttery Jack Daniels BBQ, Buttery Cajan and Buttery Taco. We also ordered tater tots, Philly cheese steak eggrolls and a Saloon Burger. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend the egg rolls, they come with a sweet and mild ginger sauce YUM. I can not wait to try more from this place.
They are having live music starting 8/​29, College Night every Thursday and Ladies Night every Friday!

The recently reopened copper fox is a nice place to be. The bartenders are friendly and the drinks are great. I had some wings for a snack and the butter bacon garlic Romano wings are out of this world. They are having a grand opening soon and I can’t wait to hear the band. The new menu is awesome, I’m looking forward to trying everything on it. My friend had the cheese steak egg rolls and said they were great too.

Saturday night at 7:00 we arrived. Décor is very nice. We were immediately told that they were out of many things on the menu including salad. We ordered scallops for appetizers. Took 45 minutes for them to arrive and the place was not busy. Sat for another 15 – 20 minutes waiting for our burger and PO-​boy. Finally, got disgusted and walked out. When we walked out they didn’t even ask why we were leaving.

We’ve eaten at Copper Fox several times and food is always delicious. I typically get the burger with avocado and sriracha. My husband has gotten the fish and chips, salmon and braised beef. All very good. They are sometimes out of items on the menu but what they have is always very good.

What a DUMP! Where do I begin? Saturday night 3÷28÷15 arrive at 8:15 for dinner. The host/​manager /​owner wanted to try and be funny, I guess he thought it was the Catskills 1955! After being seated by the dance floor near the band our very friendly waiter came to take our drink order (2 drinks a Cosmo & a glass of Chard) Band was fun if you think the Rat Pack is still alive and our table «shaking» from some of the customers dancing like it was Vegas Review, it was just wonderful! 20 minutes later drinks arrive, now the fun begins. Our waiter proceeds to tell us of all the items that they have run out of, almost ½ the menu, did I mention it was only 8:30pm! 20 minutes later the drinks FINALLY come out! We decide and order apps & burgers. No waiter for about 25 minutes until our apps come out. Order another round of drinks plus water and again he apologizes for the delay! Another 20 – 25 minutes for the second round and again sorry for the delay! Another visit from the waiter saying how sorry he was about the delay! I had ENOUGH! I told him this is ridiculous and wanted the check for the drinks and apps and forget the burgers! Walked out! Funny how the host/​manager/​owner was chatting at the bar with some lady rather then seeing to the tables and checking on the kitchen that could not handle a simple Saturday night!!! I have read comments from the owners saying they have let people go because it was slow from all the bad weather! News Flash! When you guys close your doors it will be from your inability to run a restaurant /​lounge and not the lack of staff or weather… They have spent money on the décor, too bad they have not spent that money on training their staff! And as for the host /​manager/​owner cut the talking and socializing and try helping out… DUMP!!! Anthony DellaDonna, Fairfield CT

Four of us go to dinner and arrive at 8 pm. Ordered and got our food at 945. During our 1:45 minute wait there was a complete yelling match in the kitchen with obscenities that was clearly heard from the dining room. We ordered 2 burgers, the app ribs and crab cakes and the steak and cheese sandwich. The burgers and the steak and cheese sandwich were good. The crab cakes were very salty and the ribs extremely dry. They were out of numerous items from the menu and with the band bringing in their equipment with the door left open with another table moving due to 15 degree outside winter weather. They are very understaffed and need someone to direct the staff in all areas of the restaurant. This could be a good place to eat if they decide to get their act together. It’s been 3 months, how many customers do you need to lose before the needed changes occur.

Came in on a Saturday night and had a great time! Live music, friendly and attentive staff. I’m a vegetarian and my friend is not. It’s hard to find a place that can accommodate both of us, but they totally did. I had the spinach salad and he had the remedy burger and both were fantastic! They had an awesome drink of the day too. I’d definitely go back soon!

Extremely disappointed they removed the braised short ribs from the menu. They were killer. New chef is clearly still getting their sea legs. Mussels were very salty and the portion was small. Avocado spread was very good but a stingy portion; melba toasts exhausted long before the spread. Black and bleu burger was excellent but bun fell apart immediately. Steak and cheese was great as were the fries. Ribs were disappointingly dry. Side order of kale was 90 percent steamed carrots and the applewood smoked bacon was missing. The waiter was the bright spot of this visit. I’ll give it one more time since it was SO good when Lindsay was the chef.

Went early on a Saturday night and got seats at the bar, where I prefer. Service started out slightly in-​attentive and got worse. At one point I had to remind the bartender she was halfway through pouring us a beer & had forgotten. Place is attractive & nicely done, food was OK, wings tasted good, but both of ours and the people’s next to use looked on the «under done» side. My wife ordered a salad as entrée, and one friend ordered a burger. When the burger came, we asked about the salad and then waited another 15 min for it. It’s a newly opened place, and I hope it will settle in.

The Copper Fox Saloon”, is a really cool, eclectic, intreresting mix!’ Luv the artistic flair this place has’ I almost felt as though, I was in a, Saloon, in Brooklyn!!! The chef puts an interesting twist on wings, and nachos, etc… There’s always a really nice vibe, with Entertainment! (Not to mention, The place is Beautifully done), Feel like a Rockstar when I’m there! Great location, fun bartenders, good food, I highly recommend!

Awesome service (Matt is the man), delicious food, and a kick-​ass atmosphere as soon as you walk in the bar. The décor itself is enough to be appreciated, but then the food will knock you on your ass. I would sell my soul to the devil to eat nothing but mango habanero wings for the rest of my life. The soy bourbon wings are also an awesome flavor, as are the honey buffalo. There’s no screwing around with tiny wings in this joint — they’re HUGE! The Angry Orchard on tap is excellent and tastes so much better than the bottle, but it’s always a treat when the Downeast is there. Gluten free beer options are always a massive plus with any restaurant. I WILL BE BACK!!! Finally black rock has a real place for some down and dirty good bar food.

In a word: mediocre. The décor of this venue is so beautiful that I really wanted to like it. However, I ended up being very disappointed on all fronts. The service was poor… My date and I sat in our booth for 10 minutes before we were greeted by a server… and then it happened only because we went and asked the hostess why no one had come to take our order. Once we got a waitress, the first words out of her mouth were «first off, we don’t have» and proceeded to list a number of items they didn’t have, although it was only around 9 that night. When we asked about a particular being available, the waitress snapped «no» rather than kindly answering the question. Once the food arrived, the flavor was bland… truffle parmesan wings had absolutely no truffle flavor at all… and nothing to write home about. Our waitress again did not check in and we had to walk to find her to even get our check. In short, bad service and mediocre food make this a bad option, especially with so many other great restaurants in Black Rock.

Came here on a Saturday night with parents. We all ordered burgers which were good. Fries were Ok, I’d prefer them to be more crispy. Pretty strong, tasty mixed drinks. Water had an odd taste to it, salty almost. We had the waitress and manger have a taste and they both agreed. Not sure why but, didn’t ruin the meal. Friendly staff. I’d come here again.

I was here last night! I ordered the half rack of ribs, I absolutely loved them! The service was very prompt, nice, and warming! The atmosphere was great and I will definitely be back.
