We offer class setting customer service seldom seen anywhere in the USA and abroad. Our 1200 sq. ft. customer lounge boasts leather furniture, a 60″ HD Big Screen TV, a child play area, WiFi, high speed internet PC and a quite room for reading, home work, or working on your laptop. Free refreshments include gourmet coffees and teas along with a large variety of chilled beverages. All complimentary of course. Free complimentary shuttle service is also available to wisk you to and from work, class or home while your auto is being serviced. We specilize in everything from oil changes to complete engine replacements. We are a certified Michelin USA tire dealer as well as a certified Federated Auto Care Center. History

Established in 2010.

We opened our Blacksburg, VA facility in mid-January 2010. We have quickly become the premier auto service/repair and new retail tire center in the NRV. New customers are being recommended to us every day. We are proud of our business philosophy which has been founded on three solid business pillars. From Best in the NRV to the Worst! Auto Master changed ownership about a year ago. They used be the best-great customer service, quality repairs, fair pricing, and honest. That all changed when ownership changed. I recently experienced very poor customer service, over priced repairs, and car returned to me that was experiencing the same problems as when it was brought in. The manager that provides the estimates and works the front counter never called back when he said he would, car wasn’t ready when he said, and wasn’t repaired or test driven (as the problem was evident the first mile I drove) causing a return trip to Auto Master and another day in the shop. The manager never said they were «sorry» for not fixing the car, never offered anything to make the inconvenience right, attitude was tough luck. I was a five year customer with three cars and loved the old Auto Masters and the previous owners, but these guys don’t deserve my business or yours, go somewhere else.

Poor service the 2^nd time used, Had bought a set of tire here w/their extended road hazzard pkg over a year ago… Came in for service rotation and check. Mechanic said one tire had a nail in the tread too close the side to repair. (which was not the fact although if there is a nail too close to the sidewall that would be true),
But when I asked to see the tire no nail could be found and what he showed me was a piece of gravel in the tread. On further inspection a tire belt separation movement was seen. So the tire would need to be replaced anyway. Tire was pro-rated for replacement and a meger 25% credit given.
My veh size tire was not in their stock, so had to return in a day or 2. Fine,
An appt was made to replace the tire, I was there on time waited over ½ hr to get someone to work on it, then a runaround if I had the paperwork of buying the tires when the info was on their computer system.

Not sure how honest, and yes, the waiting room is great
Bottom line I’ll, Shop for tires and get service elsewhere.

I’m not entirely sure what happened over the years. I’ve been going here for about three years and I feel as though the service has gone down. I went to finally fix my air conditioning because it was absolutely broken. I was told previously that it would cost about $ 600 – 700. I had another estimate done by someone different who works here a few months later and it went up to $ 1.4k. He also said that he «refreshed» my air conditioning and that it would work for a little while but I would need it refreshed again. Sounded fine to me, better than 1.4k right? On my way home I turned it on and realized that I paid $ 140 for absolutely nothing and was basically lied to. I am extremely disappointed and will not be going back again.

I brought my car due to the «check engine» light telling me I had an issue. Knowing what the problem was, I had them give me an estimate of the repair. I dropped the car off thinking I was looking at a costly repair. Rob thoroughly examined the issue and determined that he could do some cleaning around the sensor and that would resolve the issue. The car is running great and my bill was barely anything. Its having knowing you can trust your mechanic.

We arrived in Blacksburg Sunday night after a long, slow trip to my daughter’s VA Tech orientation. The slow part was mainly from the front-end vibration on my wife’s car, obviously a busted belt on one of the front tires. I looked up Unilocal reviews and decided to try Auto Master first thing in the morning. I pulled in at 8:15 to a nice looking shop with a very full parking lot. My first thought was no way, Monday morning, no appointment, this is going to be a long day! I was quickly helped by Shane at the front desk and after an overview of my tire options and a very reasonable quote, he told me they could have 4 tires installed by mid afternoon. I was very pleasantly surprised and even more so when I saw the shuttle van pull up and they offered me a ride back to school! John, the shuttle driver, turned out to be the owner, a super nice guy who even picked me at 3:00 when my car was ready. I took a stack of business cards for my daughter to hand out at school and am very comfortable knowing she will have a place to take her car for the next 4 years!

If you like great friendly service this is where you need to go. We left Richmond excited about our trip to Claytor Lake for the 4^th in SW VA. Our car started acting up climbing the mountains. I could not accelerate and if you have ever driven in the mountains you know that is bad. I called Rob Saturday morning and explained the situation. I had to be back in Richmond for work Monday. He was so sweet to get me and fix the car. I was also very pleased with the price I was given! In Richmond I would have never received such excellent customer service! I know I am moving back home to Blacksburg now. I had never met Rob before and understood my issue. Thanks again Rob for being an excellent customer service provider!

Worst mechanic I have been to. I took my car their with a list of problems and was told they should be fixed in about a week or two. After that first week, I was told the car should be done every or every other day only to get a phone call that day saying it was not fixed. Once, they didn’t even bother to tell me it wasn’t going to be done when they said they would leave it outside so I got a one way ride from a friend only to realize that my car was not ready and have to wait 40 minutes for a bus that took 40 minutes to get back to my place… Over a month later, the car was handed back to me with nothing fixed on it when they said they had fixed every issue besides one — they lied. Terribly unreliable service

Exceptional service. I had an issue with an older vehicle that I asked them to diagnose (pre OBDII). Auto Master spent hours to identify and fix the problem at NO CHARGE as I was «a good customer». How is that for customer service? It’s nice to see businesses (particularly auto repair) that value and respect customers.

I felt very compelled to write this review because in my opinion, I got great service at a great price. This was my first visit (for an oil change) so I was able to use a coupon (from their website). The staff was very friendly; their lounge/wait area very well equipped and comfortable (large TV, coffee, drinks, computer, wifi, children’s play area). I was skeptical after seeing all of this «luxury», expecting a lot of talk about getting additional work done, but was surprised when I walked out within a short wait and without any hassles. Needles to say, I will return. Keep up the good customer service, Auto Master!

Automaster is the best car shop in town! They are quick, honest and wonderful at what they do. I’ve gotten great deals on tires, inspections and repairs. Their shuttle is fast and friendly, but why would you want to go back to work when you can lounge in the comfy waiting room, watch the big flat screen TV and drink complementary keurig coffee? Last winter, I was terrified when my car started making a terrible griding noise in the wheel. I took her to Automaster expecting the worst, but it turned out that I had picked up a big, frozen block of road salt mixed with gravel. They knocked it out for me and didn’t charge me anything. Definitely give them a try if you need any work on your car.
