The Crossroads used to be the place to go for Caribbean music years ago… but not now. This place needs a complete overhaul and a new name. It is a pretty big venue with a whole lot of nothing going on. I don’t even know the last time I saw this place full. It has a dark and creepy feel to it. I went last Friday night for a friends birthday dinner. I arrived an hour late(around 9:00), and the food still was not served. I ordered some jerk wings, and waited a long time. They bought my food out with everyone elses food at around 10:30! I could not believe it. The food was tasty, but then again who knows. We waited so long that we were all drunk when it arrived. The music is okay, and the people always look kinda sketchy. The best part of the experience is the band that plays early on Friday nights.

DONOTEATHERE. Seriously. This place has fallen COMPLETELYOFF. Blame the arrogant penny-pinching sexist evil new management. It is okay to take a chance on the club that now seems to exclusively attract riff raff — but do not take a chance on the food. EVERYONE in our party got sick. I think as their clientele falls off, they keep the food instead of throwing it away after the expiration date. It is really sad that the new owners have ruined the reputation of this place — the food for one used to be delicious. Now it is rancid and could kill you. Never mind the horrible disrespectful hostile service.

I LOVE the reggae side, but two crucial things: 1) The girl I was with FORCED me over to the hip hop side. Love the genre, not the people. Guys were EXTRA disrespectful, I’ll just leave it at that. They were clearly desperate. And I’m sorry, but I come from the land of house music, where it all started. I just CAN’T get with DC’s Go-go scene. … Well, old-school Go-go is cool, but not that BS they play up in Crossroads. 2) TOOMUCHFIGHTING! If you can’t party like a mature adult, then please leave your ghetto *** at home, thanks. Needless to say, I’ve never been back. Such a shame, because the reggae side is awesome as far as music/DJ goes.

If I rated this place in 2005 I would’ve given it 5 stars, but it has definitely fallen off in the past few years. When I started coming here in 2005 it was THE reggae club to hit up, whether on a regular DJ night or for a live show(I’ve seen Sizzla, Vybz Kartel, Capleton here, to name a few). BUT, nowadays the club is empty, dirty, with bad service and the live shows are few and far between. One good thing I do have to say is that the restaurant is good. Ate dinner here once and got jerk chicken, which was very authentic. Good festival and rice n peas.

Came out from Cali and fell in love. Had a great meal here a couple of nights while i was staying in DC. Too bad I live three thousand miles away because this place would be my spot. After a great meal of the Jerk chicken i should have gone home but the reggae vibes were calling me into the club. ended up stayin a couple of hours and really had a good time.

This place is pretty cool. Only been here twice. But both times loved the music. Not only the reggae, soca and calypso but the old school hip hop as well.(not a fan of the new school which they did play too) i would def go back again. What I did learn though is that Friday is mostly reggae while Saturdays are mostly soca and calypso.
