Dixie Blue is perhaps the best BBQ in the north metro. Great variety of choices, sizes and sides. The pulled pork is probably the best, but the chicken is up there as well. Perhaps the best item on the menu though: the corn bread. In the summer, they have a decent patio and as any good BBQ place needs — they also have rolls of paper towels. My only request would be for a wider variety of sauces.

Sad to say customer service is not a priority at Dixie Blue in Blaine. Our office placed a large to go order in 2014 and 2015 both. Each year we had an issue with the order. A letter was written each year asking for an acknowledgment. There was no response either time. Apparently our business was not important to Dixie Blue. With their lack of response, they have now lost any future orders from our office and the staff too.

We like it! Close to home and good food! The cashier always is friendly. Food comes quickly. I always either split a pork sandwich with my husband or order chicken strips(the best I’ve had!!) and the jalapeño poppers. They are soooo good. And ranch for dipping sauce– perfection! I like their patio in the summer! Prices are a little high but they always have coupons and happy hour specials. Comparable to most BBQ places.

Way too salty pulled pork, flavorless ribs, dry chicken. Sides were good but I don’t eat bbq for the sides. Famous Dave’s is better.

Very dry, the pork was so salty I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites the ribs were flavorless. The corn bread was good, but cold. My favorite part was the Cole slaw and as my husband said that’s not a good sign.

Good food when you don’t feel like cooking. I find the family size sampler to be a bit expensive. We order the family meal that serves 5 – 6 people. I’ve ordered it 2 or 3 times in the past 9 months. They routinely only provide 4 pieces of corn bread in the meal, so it gets divided amongst my family of 6. Not a big deal, but an odd decision on their end that further skews the cost to value ratio more towards the cost rather than the value. Service is pretty quick due to all the meats having been cooked prior to opening for business that day. For a town that doesn’t have BBQ, it is good.

Great service on a slow Sunday for lunch. Place smells amazing. Tried almost everything between all of us at the table. Both kinds of ribs were excellent. Pulled pork also stood out. Excellent fries. Ate way more than I should!

Overall great service and really good food for BBQ in the Minnesota area. I was a little upset when we got our jalapeño poppers and we only got 6 for $ 9! Other then that, I had the pulled pork sandwich and bbq flatbread, both were amazing!

This joint is righteous, man. If you’re seeing this review, go get yourself some of Dixie Blue’s ‘cue. I see some of the other reviews that are a little critical. Folks don’t know BBQ. If you want sloppy, sauce-laden fatty meat… then this isn’t your spot. We sampled the pulled pork, the brisket and the rib tips. All three were aces. The pulled pork had perfect texture and just a little vinegar bite. I added just a spot of their house-made hot BBQ sauce just to give it a little kick. Put my slaw on there too. The star of the meal might have been the cornbread. Seriously. It’s all-time stuff. There’s a carmelized/candied jalapeño glaze situaish on the top of the thing which is mind-blowing. Oh yeah… get the creamed corn, too. Ridiculously good. Dixie Blue is tucked away and a little off the beaten path… but go find it. You’ll thank me. This is some of the best BBQ in the Twin Cities.

My wife and I got barbecue from this place 3 weeks ago. The ribs were dry. The sides were okay. My wife really enjoyed her chicken salad though. Earlier this week, we went again and I got the chicken and my wife got the salad again. The half chicken was okay but nothing to brag about. My wife got the chicken salad again and she found a hair in it! Gross. We called the restaurant and they told me that a manager was not there but the owner would call and make it right. Owner never called. Not going back.

High priced below average food. I do give them credit on the brisket its not bad I like to see a heavier and spicer rub. Ribs forget about them the are so dry and over cooked. The sides aren’t any better. I hate to give such a negative review to a place so close to home, but honestly I can make better BBQ at home. I’ve given it 3 chances come on guys mix it up and try real cooking.

Had the rib tips, brisket, beans, and potato salad. Everything was serviceable but not inspired. Not busy, and comfortable seating. Overall, if they were next door to one another, I’d go to Q Fanatic instead of here. Two sauces, both somewhat vinegary. One did have some heat. The brisket could’ve been smoker and moister, but it was serviceable.

What a great local BBQ restaurant! Our family loves this place. Their corn bread is fantastic. My son and I like the brisket sandwich. Highly recommend!

What a pleasant surprise this place was. It sits tucked away in a little shopping center, and if not for Unilocal,I would have never found it. It’s set up like a quick serve place, you order at the counter and someone brings you your meal afterwards. It has a nice little outdoor dining area, and it’s pretty quiet since it tucked back from the road. Better than the big chain, about the same price!

The brisket has a great flavor and very tender. We also loved the chicken and pulled pork. The staff was super friendly and didn’t make us feel rushed when deciding what we would like to order. As we took a while and had a grumpy 3 year old. We look forward to coming back and trying the St. Louis style ribs! Descent beer selection, outside patio looks great for a warmer day.

BBQ is very subjective, but I think it’s a great place. I love supporting these guys with my business. I wish there were more places with this type of quality in the area. I love their spicy bbq sauce and I recommend their St. Louis style ribs over their baby backs.

Pretty solid BBQ. Never disappoints. We usually stick to the family meal and get a little bit of everything. A little spendy but worth it when your craving BBQ.

Wasn’t very impressed. Ribs were sub par and sides weren’t the greatest. The cornbread was moist and cooked well, but it had bell peppers in it and I HATE bell peppers. Too bad because I really love corn bread. Service was great though and the place was nice and clean.

The pulled pork was a touch dry. The ribs are cooked perfectly: Moist and close to falling off the bone, but could use a little more flavor. The brisket was just about perfect in every way: It was tender and flavorful. Just awesome stuff! The cornbread is very good, but I thought it had a little too much pepper(jalapeño) on top. However, a second piece didn’t have too much at all. So it’s a little hit or miss. The slaw was probably the worst part of the meal: It was very dry, and almost no flavor. A good wet slaw would’ve fixed the pulled pork from being a bit dry. The outdoor patio was awesome, and led to a great night enjoying the weather, a few beers, and good conversation. Lastly, the portions are a good size. You won’t go hungry! I would definitely go back… the good stuff definitely outweighed the rest.
