Subway

Solid 3.5 – I just can’t bring myself to giving a 4 for a franchise lol.
But this one actually smells clean, not the typical scent you get.
Good corner location, near Chevron so whenever there’s a craving, I’ll take this instead of the Seaside café 2 blocks north (i’ll tell you why in their review haha).

It’s a subway. There are two in Blaine, go to this one. The other one (in Cost Cutter parking lot) is always full of Canadians on their way back to Canada and can get quite filthy during busier times. Also, the one near the Cost Cutter parking lot has some issues. The manager or team leader seems really pushy and the employees are in misery listening to her constant critique of their performance in front of customers. There was also a blond girl working there who couldn’t have cared less about how my food was prepared and when she handed me my sandwich bag after making it, she dropped it back onto the counter before I had grasped it. No saying «oops, I’m sorry» or anything for this girl. Just a horrible attitude. The subway on Peace Portal has personable employees and they seem happy to be there for the most part. They say that they hear the stories from the other location often from customers like me who will now only go to the Peace Portal location. I’m sure the owner probably doesn’t care because the other location is raking in cash hand over fist from all the cross border traffic. As a local, I won’t be back to that one anytime soon.
