I’ve been eating here since I was able to eat solid foods. My parents bought a cottage in Vestaburg in 1980 and we’ve been coming to Maxfield’s ever since. I’m a big fan of the salad bar. I wish they had more than one soup, though, since I’m not a fan of vegetable beef soup. My boyfriend has been here twice with me and he loves it too. He got the prime rib and shrimp buffet(first visit) and BBQ pork ribs(second visit) and thought everything was delicious. I do agree that they need a décor update.

Horrible service. The buffet has very little on it. Over priced. Ordered the buffet and they want to charge you for stuff that’s on the buffet anyways. They didn’t put the chocolate syrup out one day and actually charge for it. Crazy because it’s been apart of the buffet every time I’ve been there.

The food on the buffet is delicious. The prime rib is perfect and the deep fried shrimp is the best I’ve ever had. I think some of the sides could be done better. For the price nothing should come from a can and I suspect some of the sides do. The table service is wonderful and the linens are a nice touch. The staff is exceptional. It is very clean and comfortable. The only downside is the décor. It hasn’t been updated in years. There are lots of porcelain dolls and the décor is very 1980’s. I will still gladly pay the price because the overall quality of the food on the buffet is terrific.

Over priced buffet! Not enough selection and such a small area there is always a wait to get food.
