More crafts than produce. Lovely and convenient location on Wednesday at Manisses. I won’t buy any more cakes from the guy who has the samples out for tasting. So grumpy when you actually bother to taste, like you’re stealing. Lots of great handcrafted gifts. Delicious raw local honey. Seem to have a policy at every booth of no discounts. At my local market if I buy several items, they always knock off a buck or two as a thanks for supporting their business. In BI, it was noticeably firm pricing.

Lovely, smallish combo of artsy stuff, foodstuffs, and photos. Great for souvenirs, like a BI2013 calendar.

Several tables of vegetables this year. Great for those of us that like to cook on the island. Also glad to see the Block Island Honey people. Mostly lots of jewelry and arts and crafts– nice, cute. A good way to pass some time and pick up some stuff.

A great experience in a cool little shaded park by the pond. Right near the Block Island Depot. Obviously your produce experience will depend on the particular growing season — it’s probably best in August. It’s a tiny island, and sort of incredible how much is grown and produced on this island. Lots of baked goods as well — cookies, cakes, pies, scones, bread. I suspect the particular vendors change from year-to-year, particularly those with more novelty or smaller-scale production of goods. There is a small amount of artwork, jewelry and other such things as well.

The most ridiculous«farmer’s market» I have seen in my entire life. There wasn’t a single thing from a farm here. Not a single piece of produce. It was a flea market, not a farmer’s market.

Definitely have to buy the Block Island Scone mix by Patty Doyle. I grew up on these scones and it’s a family recipe, Patty is my aunt. Check out her website if you need more

This is a wonderful, fairy tale-esque farmers market held under a canopy of trees. The selection was diverse for the small market — the food included homemade scones, spicy pickled green beans, and wild honey. It is a perfect place to stop and take a look!
