Stopped in here to get some jeans hemmed and the whole thing took less than a half hour. They ask you to put them on(I assume this goes with other garments) the measure, mark or whatever they have to do and go to work. The lady told me 15 min so I waited and just like that it was done. The place looks family owned and very old school as the tailors all spoke Italian and looked a bit older but they were pleasant and best of all. Good price — $ 4 for the job. The shop itself is a bit small with a bench to sit and 2 changing rooms. For in and out service on your clothes this seems like a good spot to go. They do not do any kind of washing or cleaning and if your clothes are soiled enough they won’t work on them. Also its on Bloomfield which is kinda busy so parking can be tricky.

I tried this place out based on other reviews on Unilocal. When I arrived, there was a bit of a line. I initially just had some questions, but it took a while to get a chance to ask them. Not all that bad. I asked the questions I needed answers to and decided to drop off a couple of pairs of jeans to have them hemmed(Hemming costs $ 4 per pant). Couldn’t beat the price, so I decided to give it a try. I already know what length I needed the hem to be and asked if they could do a 29″ hem… the woman who measured me said, «Honey…we don’t do that here, we measure and mark.» Hmm… okay…right after I handed my pants over, a couple of young gents walked into pick up their pants. One of them looked at his hem and remarked on how«terrible» it was, which had me a little nervous. However, I’m not the professional, so I put my trust in their hands. The pants were ready just two days later, which was amazing. Just one teeny little problem — one of the pants I needed the 29″ hem for was too long. Perfect length if worn with heels but if I wear them with flat shoes, they’ll be dragging on the ground. I needed them to be roughly a half an inch shorter than they where they were hemmed to. I noted this while I was trying them on post-hem and noted it to the woman at the counter(the same woman mentioned previously). She then said«Honey…you’ll have to wash them and see if they shrink. If it’s not the right length after you wash them, bring them back and we’ll fix it for free». Mind you, this is a brand new pair of jeans. They won’t be getting washed for a good while because I don’t want them to shrink lol. I just needed them shortened because I am SHORT. Also, one of the legs has a hem that isn’t straight. BUT — the other pair of jeans was hemmed PERFECTLY, so I’m really happy with that. Overall — Great pricing, decent hemming, very quick turn around. I’ll try washing that one pair to see if it helps.

Wore one of the pants once and the hem fell down. I called and she said«it’s not a lifetime guarantee.» I said it’s hardly been a lifetime, I wore the pants once! She said, yes, and you ripped the hem. I wear pants everyday. I am quite confident that I know how to put them on. It’s exceedingly rare that the hem rips. She said I could bring them back in. When I asked if I’d have to pay again, she hung up on me. I guess it was too good to be true and that I’ll have to find another tailor…

I always have a great experience here. They have been tailoring my clothes for years, but recently started going more often to have clothes taken in on a regular basis. They have done a bridesmaid dress for me, a baby shower, business suits, slacks eft. They have also fixed buttons and zippers for me a few times. I am there weekly and am never disappointed. They have never loss anything of mine, and have done certain items quicker than others. Today I was there and needed my entire business suit done in 48 hrs and they said they could do it. them!

They fixed my skirt in one week! This skirt was a gift, had lots of delicate materials, yet when they added SIXINCHES to the waist, it looked like they changed nothing. But it fit like a perfect glove

I visited by recommendation by a friend that moved to Virginia more than 7 years ago. Every time she visits NJ she brings all of the clothes and jeans that she’s purchased to have Paul’s Tailor shop do alterations. I figured, I guess this place is trustworthy. While, I would have usually tried a pair of pants initially to feel the place out I was in a rush and had to get an evening gown altered because it was too long. I was deathly afraid the dress wouldn’t look the same when I picked it up. I took the dress to the tailor around 3:30PM and was advised that I could have it by 6:00PM that night or pick it up the next day. I told them I would pick it up in two days because I was afraid if they fixed it too quickly the dressed would be ruined. Well, I picked it up the next day and the dress looked as if no alterations were made to it. I paid the 15.00 and went on about my way. When I got home… I tried the dress on and… THEALTERATIONSHADBEENMADE and they were perfect. I couldn’t even tell I didn’t but the dress that way. This place is TOPBILLINGS and I will likely by more clothing that don’t fit as perfectly and then take it to Paul’s so that it can be tailored to fit me. I wish I could give this place more stars. I’ve always paid cash. Dresses are 15.00; Pants are 7.00.
