I tried calling and the phone number was no longer valid. I drove to the site and the restaurant appears permanently closed(all the furnishings are gone).

This is the worst — most disgusting — most unattractive pretend ny style deli I have ever been unfortunate enough to dine in — the food is atrocious — it makes most train station food stalls seem like elegant fine dining establishments

I agree with Mickey H. from Windsor, Ct. The potato salad was spoiled, the matzo ball soup was awful. What added insult to injury was the fact that the credit card machine was down and we were not told til the end of the meal that only cash or check would be acceptable. We were 6 people so it was a good thing we had a blank check in my wallet. Very poorly done all around.

This place is awesome. Finally, a real deli Jewish deli! I’m sick of everyone saying that Rein’s is the best or that Reuben’s in West Hartford is even all that good. If you want Jewish comfort food like you’ve never had,(or perhaps you have if you grew up like I did with many a Hebrew friend in West Hartford) this is the place for you. Solid portions, unfettered service and a clean place. Doesn’t get much better in my book.

We tried this place one night last week, very excited as we are huge deli fans. The menu looked great — we went traditional for our first try. A bowl of matzoh ball soup — nice light dumpling with rich broth. We ordered two different pastrami sandwiches with sides. There is a big service issue this place needs to fix — there’s an open window in the dining room that the kitchen pushes food to for service. I watched our sandwiches sit in the window for more than 10 minutes while no less than 3 different people walked by the food. Our waitress was either too busy or a little disorganized, but the time she delivered the food everything was borderline cold. I asked for new fries, they were happy to accommodate, and I quickly received a piping hot replacement. The pastrami was tasty, the rye nice and fresh. They really need to change their process so that any open server can deliver food — it would make a difference in the freshness and quality — ours was not the only order I watched sit in that window over the course of our meal. We’ll go back and try more items on the menu, and hope for improvements in the service.

Love me some good kosher deli, and let me tell you, its great to have a place in our backyard finally! This is exactly the kind of place grandma/grandpa used to take me when I was a kid in Florida/NYC. In fact, the meat comes from NYC and the bread is from the Crown supermarket which makes it truly and authentic sandwich. Themed night dinners are also a hit, giving anyone who keeps kosher and great option 5 – 6 days a week. The corned beef egg rolls are superb, and the always reliable corned beef/pastrami on rye doesn’t disappoint. The«matt» is the best sandwich on the menu, but all are great and sure to meet your cravings. Pickled tomatoes are also available which is always an A+++ with me. Beats Ruebens(not kosher) in west hartford center on service/food, and certainly a better option than driving all the way to vernon for Rheins. GOSHUMAN’S!!!

Finally! A great kosher deli in the Hartford area. These places have come and gone, but I suspect this one is here to stay. My family and I started off our meal with the pastrami and corned beef egg rolls. What a concept! The egg rolls had a great crisp on the outside and the pastrami/corned beef and coleslaw melted in your mouth. It came with a side of Russian dressing. We all ordered pastrami sandwiches and the portions were perfect. They come with a side of french fries, coleslaw or potato salad. The french fries can either be regular or sweet potato — both delicious. This meal was of course topped off with a can of Dr. Brown’s soda. We will absolutely be going back.

A seriously kosher deli. No frills, just a really good, huge sandwich. The matzo ball soup is just as it should be, great broth with good flavor. I got a specialty sandwich called the Matt(sandwiches are named after family members) which was pastrami, slaw and russian dressing on really soft rye bread. The deli eggrolls are AMAZING! Do not miss! Also, make sure and hit up the huge pastry case for a black and white cookie. :) I’ll be back soon, maybe for carryout.
