At this hard to believe address, near the hustle and bustle of railroad tracks and mega lanes of traffic, stands a lovely old brick building that appears to be in a time warp. It is St. Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery. A group of pine trees acts as a shield to what almost looks like a little English cemetery; very European, very quaint, the type where people might visit on a daily basis. Lots of little benches and bird feeders; very personal and perfect for our friend, now there. We know why he chose this spot. I give the Diocese, and the council of St. Isidore’s a lot of credit for melding the old with the new. The property extends back to more current church and burial facilities. But the real charm is in that old time section with some pretty intricate stone work in its statues and carvings. Very serene, classy, and calm; a perfect place of peace.
