Tails A-Waggin’ Pet Grooming

Thanks for a great first visit! Tails-​A-​Waggin was able to book an appointment for me first thing in the morning and had no problem answering any questions I had. Dropped our dog off early and got a phone call a few hours later to pick her up, our Border Collie Sydney was shiny and soft after her visit. Til next time!

I stopped in to get some information on kitten/​cat food last night and had a great experience with Patty. We don’t have the kittens yet and I was wanting to do some research on options and quality and get feedback. Patty was very helpful and friendly. Even after she knew we wouldn’t be purchasing anything that night, she was kind and informative. Not to make a sale, but to establish a relationship and teach us some things about cat nutrition. As a pet owner it’s refreshing to meet people who are truly interested in the wellbeing of companion animals as well as educating owners. That was my first experience at Krisers but it won’t be my last.

My third dog is a four month old Yorkshi — yep a Yorkie /​Shih Tzu mix. Her first grooming experience could not have been any better. We decided to shave her, so as to eliminate a tangle dematting experience. She looks adorable and couldn’t have been happier to be in the great hands of Claudia and her team.
So glad I took my neighbors advise and visited Tails-​A-​Waggin. We will definitely be back!

Omg, I can’t tell you enough how much I love this place! I have been taking my dogs there for 20 years! I’ve had 2 ShihTzu’s and 2 Afghan Hounds. So they are NOT easy to groom. My dogs love it so much there that I can’t even say where we are going until we get there because they start going crazy !!! I can barely get out of the car and they are all over me to get to the door! The girls are SO nice to ALL the animals that are there. Like the other lady said, I don’t know what is going on with those complaints, they MUST be bogus! Probably from a rival groomer! My dogs always come home beautifully groomed. Whenever I am there, there is always someone that comments on how good they look. Claudia, the owner, KNOWS what she’s doing. She’s been doing it a long time. She is NOT just beginning in this business. And she’s good at it! I’ve been in the back and have seen the girls wash and dry dogs and they are so gentle and especially caring with the dogs that are scared. I would recommend Tails a-​waggin to anybody who has an animal that needs to be groomed.

I love this place! I’m only writing this reveiw because I was looking online for their phone number to make an appointment and ran across your website. They have always treated my dog very loving and gentle. I’ve never had a problem. And really I read the other review about the cubbies that the small dogs sit in… My dogs enjoys the no gated cubbie. When I go there to pick her up she seems happy sitting in there. Also she used to be afraid of car rides but since going to Tails a Waggin, she loves going for rides in the car. I feel it’s because she is not afraid of the groomer anymore! So now I’m going to look for the phone number and make that appointment!

I have taken my two dogs here. I have one small short haired Dachshund and one medium size Shelty/​Border-​Collie with tons of hair. The small one cost about $ 30.00 and the medium sized one was about $ 65.00 because of all the work he needed done.
My small one is used to being groomed so she’s easier to handle. All the groomers she comes across always has good things to say about her and want to take her home. She is a blessing in my life. Then we have the medium sized one who is still some what like a puppy. We rescued him from
. He was in a situation where there were about 26 other dogs in the backyard with him. Love and affection was not shown to him, so he was a little jumpy at every sudden movement anyone made. He had to have a muzzle on because he started being a little aggressive with the groomer. He looked pathetically cute.
The groomer who took care of my dogs seemed to be very gentle and caring towards them, and even patient with the medium sized one. I was very satisfied with their service. I will take them here again. Although the price is a little much for what I am used to. But, all in all, dogs are just expensive altogether. I’m sure wherever I go, it will possibly be almost the same price to groom both my pooches.

I have a Lab that I bring here just to get his nails cut — I always make him bleed by accident, so I leave it to the professionals. They are incredibly friendly, clearly dog-​lovers, and have never hurt him in the two years that I have taken him here. He’s happy to go in there every few months (because he knows he’s getting a treat afterwards from them)! I judge them not by how they are with me, but how they are with my dog. A+ !!!

Along with the last review, they don’t listen well to direction.
I have 5 dogs I bring here about every 3 months or so. I have 3 Cavapoos, 1 Cocker Spaniel and 1 King Charles Cavalier.
My mom always tells them not to cut 1 of my Cavapoos too short because he is so skinny and he looks like a skeleton when he’s cut short. and every time they cut him real short and leave a poof around his and my other Cavapoo’s face, it is not flattering at all. Also, we’ve noticed the last couple of times we’ve been there at least one of my dogs comes home bleeding from the nails because they were cut down too short. Not only is it painful for my dogs, but it’s a pain in the a– to clean up the blotches of blood on the floor. Very unprofessional.
We are going to be looking elsewhere for a better groomer.

I came here about 6 weeks ago with my 6 month old maltese. I have heard great things about this place so I decided to go there.
When I dropped her off I told them I dont want much cut off and I want them to put a bow on her head.
I walked in there to go pick my maltese up and she was sitting on a block. I thought it was my dog but she kind of looked different. She did not have a bow and her hair was cut really short.
I was sooo mad. I wouldnt bother bringing your dog here and I wouldnt bother driving here from far away cause its not worth the drive!

I will never bring my pet here again. I have a 2 year old Maltese, with medium length hair… I brush her hair every other day… Last year, I dropped her off at this «groomer» and they shaved my dog… completely… without calling me and asking. when I picked my pup up she said that she was badly matted (there is no possible way). I’ve heard numerous complaints from others about them doing the same thing… Chariot of the Dog in Carol Stream is much better. our Vet even recommended him, as she takes her dogs to him.

Yes, it is a bit far from my house, but I got this tip from a friend. This place is great for my large Labradoodle. He’s a great pooch, and we make the drive every two months (during the warm weather), to get his hair chopped, nails, trimmed, ears cleaned… the works!
The owner is Claudia, and she is SOOOOOOOO nice. A friend of mine lives that way and encouraged me to try it, after we had been to a few more local-​to-​my –home shops.
