History

Established in 1996.

AMEK Custom Builders is a local, family-​owned and operated business founded in 1996 by brothers Matt and Andrew Schmidt, later joined by brother Paul and father Mark.

AMEK’s focus is design-​and-​build residential projects from remodels to additions to new homes — as well as custom exterior renovations.

The company’s work has been featured on the cover of Parade of Home magazine, on FOX9 news and they have been recognized for excellence by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of .the Remodeling Industry.

While recognition is appreciated, the Schmidts run a business based on attraction, not promotion, and have demonstrated that by growing their business based on building client relationships and referrals.

That desire is what drives the attention to detail in all aspects of a project, and why all AMEK employees treat their client’s home, family and project as if it were their own.

Matthew M.

Business Owner

Matt co-​founded AMEK with his brother Andrew in 1996. Along with being an Owner of AMEK, he specializes in Construction Management and Sales as well as New Home Construction and Remodeling.

Andrew co-​founded AMEK with his brother Matt in 1996. Along with being an Owner of AMEK, he oversees the business and manages the finances, marketing, writing scopes of works as well as creates and implements AMEK’s systems of operations. So in a nutshell, his «area of expertise» is to know a little bit about everything.

Paul has been an Owner of AMEK since 2000. Paul specializes in Selling Exterior Projects, Managing Employees and Project Managing. His area of expertise consists of Stucco Remediation and Hardie Plank Siding.

Mark has been an Owner of AMEK since 1999 and is the proud father of the other 3 Co-​Owners. Mark oversees our client relations, meeting with clients and helping them come up with plans and pricing for all the remodeling projects.
