History

Established in 1994.

The Arthur Murray Bloomington Dance Studio has been teaching ballroom and social dance lessons in the Monroe, Green, Brown and Johnson counties for twenty years. Starting on the east side of Bloomington in 1994, the locally owned studio has helped thousands of people achieve the results they have wanted with their dancing. The Owner, Barbara Leininger, received the Be More award for her development of the fundraising show «Arthur Murray Bloomington’s Dancing with the Celebrities». If you are looking to be active, learn a skill, or just prepare for a wedding dance.

Arthur Murray himself first started teaching people to dance in 1912. Starting with a «learn to dance at home» mail order business, he founded his first dance studio in 1923 on 43^rd Street in New York City.
