History

Established in 1970.

Dillman Farm started in Carl and Sue Dillman’s kitchen 45 years ago. While delivering milk for Johnson’s creamery, Carl noticed that many of the charming Brown County shops on his route were missing his favorite treat – apple butter. The Dillmans got to work making apple butter from their neighbor’s orchard, and the rest is history.

The company is now operated by 2nd generation owner Cary Dillman. Cary has kept his family’s love for home cooked, all-​natural food at the heart of Dillman Farm. You will never find preservatives, corn syrups, or artificial dyes in their food. They make almost every kind of fruit butter, jam, and jelly you can imagine, as well as a great selection of salsas, barbecue sauces, mustard, pickles, fruit syrups, and salad dressings. They sell to high quality stores, gift shops, and farm markets nationwide.

Cary has been managing the family business for 30 years. Between him and his wife, Brenda, they have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Cary loves his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana and takes every opportunity he can to support local missions and organizations. He takes pride in knowing his customers personally. It’s not uncommon for him to take a road trip across the country to visit orchard and shop owners who sell Dillman Farm!
