Nickelodeon Universe

Horrible experience– if you are not 5 feet tall rides follow a schedule and employees do not follow it. Waited over 30 minutes for one rode and it wasn’t open when we started during its scheduled time and still didn’t reopen at the next scheduled time. This place just doesn’t want to hire employees. No longer family friendly. Rides that are open like the merry go round have Disney size lines as other rides are closed for the little kids. Unsure if I will try this again with a toddler.

My kids have the best time here. It’s great they have rides for big and small. Surprisingly the rides are really fun, you may not expect that especially given the size of the park but they have managed to ride some grade A rides in there. It’s a great way to wear the kids out and get some shopping done.

Very unique amusement park found in the middle of Mall of America. There are about 15 rides to check out. The theme is cartoon characters from Nickelodeon. So you would think there only have kiddie rides but be prepared! They have a few really fast rides. I love roller coasters so I can contest they are quite entertaining and you gotta check it out.
Big rides are 7 points and small kids rides are 3 points. You buy points ahead of time on a ticket first. You then can walk around and decide which rides to take and they will deduct your points as you go. They also offer unlimited ride passes.
My fav ride is the Avatar Airbender. The ride straps you down on round turning seats to a skate board. While the huge skate board slides up and down, back and forth at a very fast speed; your seat is always spinning around in circles. I was screaming while the boys were yelling. Lol. I can’t compare that roller coaster to anything at 6 flags magic mountain! One of my best roller coaster experience that I will never forget! Gotta check this ride out!

Do not go with shopping bags or a purse. Roller coaster itself was fine. But when you get to the coaster the staff literally grabs your bags from you and sets them on the platform in a totally open/​unsecured area while you ride. There was no advance notice of this anywhere nor did staff tell us about this set-​up until after they’d taken our tickets. You’d think they’d have secure lockers available.

What can I say about an amusement park located smack dab in the middle of a mega mall!!! YIPPEEE AND YAY!!! Ferris Wheel, Bumper cars, and quite a decent selection of thrill rides… prices are roughly about $ 6 per rise or buy a pass for unlimited rides at $ 32 (after 5pm pass is $ 24!!!)
My best friend moved to MN less than two years ago and she says this is a very popular spot during winter, when everyone is forced indoors due to the extreme weather… a fantastic alternative!!!

Much like the carousel– everything comes full circle. I have not really been to the park since it was Camp Snoopy and I was rockin’ some 90s attire, but my little one just turned 2 so we thought we would load up the family truckster and head to the park with grandma and grandpa. The park is pretty much the same with the exception of the name and some more rides. We only rode on two of the rides since our little guy was still too small to enjoy many of them.
We rode the carousel which he seemed to like. It’s one ticket for him and then one adult can ride for free. A single ticket is around $ 4.00 which is not too bad ;same as other places. Then we made the mistake of taking him on the little bus that we thought just went around in a circle. Our fault. Even though he loves and calls every vehicle a bus, he could not wait to get off this bus. It has a bit of a drop which he hated and was shaking like a leaf. At one point it looked as though he was trying to jump out. My little one who just turned 2 hated that thing. Most of the other kids were a little bit bigger that he and they seemed to like it; mine didn’t.
The park is clean, offers a variety of rides for all of the ages and now they have a zip line thingy to go zipping across the park which is kind of cool.
Can purchase tickets at the kiosks or at a counter where they tell you about being able to ride for free with the little kids.
I imagine it’s a nice option in the winter to break up the monotony of having to be inside.

Awesome place to spend the day with the kids and the Caribou Coffee stand in the middle is perfect for the parents as a quick pit stop for extra energy for the parents. The lines were short and the rides seemed long and worth any wait in line. Apple donuts are a must as you go wait to zip line and go through the ropes course. Better yet. Make sure you hit the zip line 1^st and then enjoy the donuts. Waiting later means… waiting l-​a-​t-​e-​r. Up to 1 ½−2 hour waits so go there 1^st. It’s worth the extra $. The day went fast. Even better when the sun came out. The semi truck driving was a hit for my sons.

This park made me feel like a 10 year old trapped in a 22-​years-​old body and I enjoyed every minute of it.
We came to MOA on a Friday — bad idea. Super busy, millions of children, and loooong lines, but what can you expect. We spent our times as the only adults in the lines waiting to see Spongebob, Patrick, and the Ninja Turtles!
Came back on a Monday and found that this was definitely a better day to come. Short lines, no large masses of pushy adults and crying kids, and front row seats on every ride! Also, who knew you could cram so many rides and attractions into one area, but NU definitely accomplished that. The roller coasters were super fun! Short, but thrilling. My favorite was the Orange Streak, you get a nice breezy view of the whole park! The bikini bottom and fairly odd parents rides were also really fun. I wish I wasn’t in scandals, I would have tried the ropes course and zip line which looked fun as well.
NU is a great place to bring the kid out of you again!

What can I say… This is an indoor amusement park in a very cool state. It’s a great place to bring kids on a cold day during the winter. You have the option of purchasing an unlimited ride wristband or buying tickets with points so you can go on the rides that you are interested in.
My favorite ride has always been the roller coaster that goes right through the middle of the park. And every once in a while you might see a bridal party taking a ride on the roller coaster… I saw this a handful of times in the years after the mall first opened.
I think the prices are relatively reasonable… But I really do believe that the best value is in that unlimited ride wristband.

My wife and I bought a Sleep Number bed at the Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe had a special. If you bought $ 250 worth of stuff, you got a free Nickelodeon Universe wristband. We ended up with 12 of them.
We were going to go on a Friday night, but the lines were crazy, so we decided to go on Saturday morning, right when it opened. #Edinaproblems. The lines were short and we could walk on and off the rides easily. Our first one was the Ninja Turtle ride. We both loved that one because you could make it as thrilling or smooth as you wanted to. I knew my wife would love it, and she did. It was like an updated version of the classic thrill park spinning swings.
There was a surfboard coaster which just went left and right, but super fast. It was my favorite ride. Super Fast! it reminded me of my childhood at Marriot’s Great America in California called the Tidal Wave, except that had a loop in it.
We tried the Log Ride and we both got soaked. No Good, you get way too wet on that one. A 200 pound guy in the front probably didn’t help anything.
There is one roller coaster that brings you straight up vertically that was real fun and thrilling and the original coaster that takes you all around the park is always a crowd pleaser. You literally ride straight up a couple hundred feet to start the ride. They know how to make the best use of their space.
Overall, I would never pay $ 32 for an all day pass, but for free, it ruled.

We have been here four or five times and it is always a good family activity. My husband and daughter ride the rides while I shop. We can meet up for meals and other stuff throughout the day.
There is a good variety of rides that have grown with her. She is now 12 and still enjoys it. The lines don’t seem too bad. And it is clean and people are friendly.
I like the fact that I don’t have to pay to be in the park if I am not going to ride. You can also buy tickets online and save some money.
It is a good time as you can ride some, shop for a bit, and then go back to rides. With all that is at the mall you don’t have to stay in the park to eat, which is so much better than other parks. Also — being indoors is another benefit.

Rules of the Ropes!
The website lays out all the rules but the staff was of no help. You can’t have flip flops or sandals. They do have crocs available to wear but you need socks. The website says they will sell you a pair for $ 1 but they don’t have any. You can’t wear a dress or skirt even though the harness is going to pull it all in. (I wasn’t the one wearing a dress) After three trips to other MOA establishments for dress adjustments to conform with the requirements the ropes course it was a ton of fun. You even get unlimited use of the 4-​story slide after you’re done!

The Nickelodeon Universe was by far the dustiest place I have ever seen. It got me to thinking they may not keep up with the rides, since they clearly don’t ever clean and dust the large structures. I was apprehensive to let the kids ride, but caved into their begging, for which they were grateful and said they had sooo much fun on the roller coaster!

We are from Mn so we usually go on the non peak days. Today was crowded but the lines went very fast and people were courteous. The park was very clean.
Our only complaint was the NICK character (not sure the name but he was bald ninja ish) who was roaming around, he scared the kids. Not just ours but other children too.

Awesome amusement park within the Mall of America. My hubby is from MN and he said there only used to be one «mild» kid rollercoaster, but now there are about 7 or 8 «grownup», scary coasters and thrill rides here! We went on the Fairly Odd Coaster — my hubby wasn’t scared but I was shrieking like a banshee the entire time! I did not even open my eyes. It was very twisty and turny, and the car that we were in was doing swivel type rotations very fast the entire time — yikes. Don’t even ask me about the blue Spongebob coaster — that was absolutely terrifying with huge steep drops — I did NOT go on that!
My husband decided to do the zipline, which was great and only $ 10.99 — great deal! However, we had to wait over 50 minutes in line to just get harnessed up — for a 30 second zip line ride. Not so fun. I would so go back here next time we visit family friends in MN!

I’ve had two memorable moments occur in this area of the mall:
1) During the Camp Snoopy era, my brother took me on my very first roller coaster ride! It was the green «Pepsi» one. I’m unsure of the official name.
2) In 2010 (during the current Nickelodeon Universe reign), several friends and I became the first people ever to break[dance] battle against the thing that lives in a pineapple under the sea. That thing is Sponge Bob Square pants.
Since the Camp Snoopy listing is now closed, I’ll elaborate on point #2.
Several out-​of-​town friends and I cut across Nickelodeon Universe to reach the food court. During our stroll, we noticed Mr. Sponge Bob frantically waving at us. We realized he was calling us out, so we decided to battle him. Check out the footage here:

Even though Sponge Bob Square Pants roasted us, how could I rate this historical awesomeness anything less than four stars?

First time back there in over 8 years! At that time it was called Camp Snoopy! Honestly, I like it better as Nickelodeon Universe! Charlie Brown and Snoopy isn’t a cartoon played anymore unfortunately. My son watches Nickelodeon so he got to meet his favorite cartoon characters! The lines were pretty long, but moved along. We got there after 4pm due to visiting the Sea Life Aquarium first. So If it’s possible, make two trips and don’t try to shop, ride the rides, and visit the aquarium all within the same day! Our trip there felt pretty rushed! I would definitely return someday though!

I LOVE IT!!! Awesome roller coasters… log chute was cool… thought i would fall out! The avatar ride brings you to the highest point in the mall, thought i would shoot right through the ceiling glass, it spins so my bf didn’t feel that well… We played the sandbag game…2 bags for $ 5, kids play til they win! And we got 4 bags into get a small minion, thank god the bf got all the bags through the balloons! Lines are shorter right when it opens… we played the bumper cars which was fun. Nothing really bad to say. which i had more time to play. only had a couple of hours… but we got the unlimited day band anyways. some of the people who work there didn’t even scan the people with points… HMM… Buy it online rather than there. it’s cheaper…

3.5 — 4 stars — a fun place (albeit expensive — $ 31 for a day pass) to take our 9 year old daughter who loved the log flume (still decorated from back when it was Knott’s Berry Farm Camp Snoopy) and the Orange Rollercoaster (so gentle even I could go on it!).
Very clean and short lines — so that’s cool.
Great for younger kids — but not thrill seekers — everything is rather tame (but I like it that way — I am a wimp!)

The first tip I can give, especially for adults riding without children like me, is to do yourself a favor and use the bathrooms inside the mall. There will not be diapers, small children, or a general smell (or at least not as much as inside the park).
Now, there is enough time to ride all the rides you need to ride if you just buy a twilight wristband for $ 20. Children might be a different story, but for adults, this is the best way to enjoy the rides relatively inexpensively. If you want to ride more than one ride, you might as well get a wristband because the pricing is skewed that way.
The roller coasters actually are scarier than at Disneyland. There’s one Spongebob one that I thought I was going to die on. We didn’t hear anyone screaming on the ride, and my friend said that everyone was too busy pooping themselves to be vocal… and he was right.
My friends did have a little bit of a (legitimate) scare, though, on the Avatar skateboard ride. They said that the ride attendant «wasn’t getting a blinking green light» and LET THE RIDE GO ANYWAY. Uuuuuummmmmm… Glad that this was the last ride of the night.
Definitely recommend the log ride and the ferris wheel – what’s not to love about a scenic view of American consumerism? Love you, Mall of America. Until next time…
