Quality Inn & Suites Mall of America – MSP Airport

I originally arrived early, but the room wasn’t ready. This was no problem because I did not expect it to be ready. So I went about my day to return much later and well past check in time. The issues with the room were numerous, so I cannot ever recommend this hotel based on my personal experience. 1. The toilet had obviously not been cleaned. Yes there was something left there from the previous guest. I prefer to not get graphic. 2. The room itself needed a remodel. The drop ceiling in the bathroom was rusty. The wallpaper was peeling from the walls, etc. 3. The smoke detectors in the hallway were wrapped in plastic. 4. There were hair pins on the carpet. 5. When the bathroom steamed up from the shower, the word SMILE appeared in the mirror. This was very disturbing to me getting out of the shower. 6. The soap dish in the shower still had residue in it. I am usually a quite tolerant person, but this is unacceptable and I will not return. The front desk offered a 25% discount on a future stay. I declined this letting them know I would not return and they had lost my business. Very unfortunate stay.

They are mid renovation so there are piles, boxes and rolls of construction supplies all over. The king suite that we had was spacious and did have a large king bed and couch but that’s about it. The in room microwave and fridge are nice. The hot tub was broken. They do offer a free shuttle to the mall and airport but it’s unreliable. We called 4 hours ahead to have a pickup from the mall and the driver was 30 minutes late, FYI it was not busy either. The beds are awful. Between the construction noise, partying neighbors and horrible beds we slept for crap. I won’t be back.

Terrible place. Strongly do not recommend stay there.
I booked a room for 4 days due some emergency situations I had to check out early. After staying 2 days had to leave. Asked to front desk refund my money back for rest of the days. They did not. Front desk employees very rude, not trained and without any attitude. Personally I would like mention manager or supervisor by name SAJ. Very rude and garbage person. When I came to the hotel to check in he made me wait 7 HOURS before he let me go to my room. I started fight with him and after that I got my keys to room. Generally hotel personnel unprofessional, seems like somebody took them from the street and gave them job to work with customers. No ethics, no positive attitude. Never go there again!

The outside grounds of the hotel were filthy! Here is the PILE of cigarette butts that greeted us as we walked in! It seems the rooms could stand for an upgrade too. The front desk staff was not very nice. The front door area needed some major improvements. Bad first impression! No flowers, etc. Just a TON of cigarette buts that obviously had not been cleaned up in some time. They were all over the parking lot, curb area and front area.

After spending a few hrs or so researching hotels in the area, I settled on the Quality Inn. Traveling for Mall of America, this was really the best choice. Overall, my fiancé and I have been very pleased. Clean, quiet, and comfortable, I’d highly recommend, especially if you’re here for MOA. The mall is literally a 3 min drive from here. They offer a shuttle to the mall, but honestly it’s so close, just drive it. But it’s a nice to have feature. Denny’s is attached, which is great. And a wal mart is across the street, walkable from the hotel. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, location was great.

Cons:
–cleaning staff starts cleaning really early. Slam doors at 8am. Put your «do no disturb» sign
–elevator has a mind of it’s own (not really a con, just worth noting)
–no outlets: I take that back, there are outlets, but there’s about 8 lamps in the room using the outlets, which are behind furniture, making them unreachable.
Overall, for the price and purpose (MOA), I’d stay here again. Recommended.

Terrible. I took a shower and the fire alarm went off. We called the front desk, and they put it into consideration. Not long after, my sister took a shower. Yet again, the alarm went off. We went downstairs to complain. They told us to turn on the fan and shut the door, and didnt even offer us another room. So long story short, the fire alarms are really sensitive, and the staff is not helpful.

Good soundproofing– we didn’t hear anything once our door was shut.
Exercise room (tiny, but had the essentials)
Cons:
Front desk clerk who checked us in was, frankly, quite rude
No microwave in our room
Our room could really have used an upgrade– stained carpet, gouges in the wood of the coffee table and night stands.
Kind of a sketchy neighborhood, not comfortable walking or jogging there.
No laundry on site
When we checked in in the early afternoon, the clerk was very distracted and rushed through the transaction. We were given our key and told our room was ready, but when we arrived, dragging several suitcases and looking forward to a shower and a nap, it hadn’t been touched by housekeeping yet– unmade bed and wet towels everywhere– so we left and came back after a couple of hours. He never told us where anything was (gym, pool, etc.) and when I asked him about getting to the Mall of America, he told me to call a taxi. On my third day there, I asked a front desk clerk to call me a taxi to go to the mall. She told me there was a free shuttle, which had just left, but that I could grab the next shuttle going to the airport and ask to be dropped off at the mall. This worked out great (shuttle driver, Mario I think, was super nice) and I didn’t have to pay for a taxi. I’m not sure why the guy who checked us in didn’t know about this, but maybe someone should tell him.
The price was right, and it was a decent room, close to the airport. We’d possibly stay here again in the future.

Rude front desk employees except for the midnight shift male employee who is very nice. Wifi is weak, Musty smell inside the rooms, small bathrooms, outdated décor. This place needs a HUGE renovation.
Free parking & breakfast. Few rooms have fridge and/​or microwaves.
Next yo Denny’s, Walmart and culvers.
