I was buying my son his first professional dress suit. He had come back from college one semester and had attended one of the career fairs and realized he needed to do better in his professional dress. I had heard about Robert Redding and that I could get him a truly professional fitting, in much the same way I used to at Winnie’s Menswear which had closed some years ago.
The owner was excellent in helping my son select a suit, fabric, ties, shirts and shoes that suited him and achieved the goal of a professional appearance for a young man. After all, what’s the point of buying a suit if it’s not worn, or worn reluctantly.
Everything worked out very well. In fact, my son remarked that he felt ‘great’ when wearing his new suit. That’s what you want to hear, especially from an engineering student that spends most of his time in cargo pants and t-​shirts. Also, he learned how to properly buy clothing as an adult man, a lesson not too often taught these days.
Lastly, clothing from this shop will fit you properly. Whenever I see a young man and especially grown men ‘fighting’ their clothing it’s because it hasn’t been sized properly. Also, clothing that fits properly has one looking their best; it truly makes a marked difference because you feel better.

Robert is extremely knowledgable. We have ordered several made to measure suits and are very satisfied. We have also ordered several pair of matching shoes & belts. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for men’s suits in Bloomington.

When you have tried nearly every men’s fashion store within a three state area, you will find yourself quite lucky to have stumbled upon Robert Redding Menswear. To cut this short and to the point (as most men appreciate… especially in shopping) He gets it done. He won’t call your jacket «pretty» and he knows how to make colors work. Working with an off color wool jacket he recommended a tie which brought together my olive, tan, and grey with the bridesmaid’s navy dresses and the groomsmen’s wool sweaters, all of this while not being pushy (allowing me to look around), and at a rather fair price.

There are few menswear shops that cater to men who care about their appearance and aren’t driven primarily by cost. Also stocks proper shaving supplies, and will be getting safety and straight razors, which I anticipate greatly. Definite recommendation.
