Six Strings

While country is not my forte, I appreciate Six Strings for what they are. Lots of students like to go here, so if that’s your crowd, then this may be the place. Plus, the mechanical bull can add some excitement to your night.

Can you go out, listen to a good band, have a few drinks but NOT use the restroom?!! This place has by far the dirtiest, nastiest bathrooms of any bar ive EVER been into! I think its pathetic that they cant put a lil more effort in the restrooms for THEIR CUSTOMERS. I seriously left and went to another bar just to pee! I was shocked to see everyone use the germ infested thing. Broken stale doors too! Lol. If it wasnt for the restroom, the place is decent with great music.

ya this place is cool, if you like country bars. The two times that I went were a blast. I love live music and both bands that played were fantastic. You don’t have to be country to enjoy a night out a Six Strings. The drinks are strong and the beers cold. I think it was a 5 dollar cover charge.

Looking for a real country bar in downtown Bloomington? Well, there’s one. It’s called Six Strings. I’ve heard that they have some good country acts from time to time. I went when there was live music and it was a pretty cool venue.
There are lockers so that you can store stuff (great during the winter) and the stage is pretty nice. My favorite part though is that there are two or three truck beds mounted to the north wall — it looks like some trucks backed into the bar. You can sit in the back of the truck like you are tailgating. They do a nice job of embracing their country theme here.
I would be interested to hear what others have to say about this bar. This place was in the news about a year ago because there was supposedly a knife fight between some bikers, so make sure to keep your head on a swivel!
