The service was terrible. Our waiter said it’s a Sunday problem, but not getting a sofa after three requests to to different people – it’s not just Sunday problem. Getting 4 biscuits when there are 5 people at the table is unacceptable. Not getting the 5th until we were paying is unbelievable. The person in our party who got the baby back ribs said they were not good. It took about 45 minutes to get our food. A definite problem.

Phil was our server, and he was the best server I’ve ever had! He was genuinely friendly right from the start, and was incredibly knowledgeable not only about the menu, but about the Hilton Head golfing scene as well! He gave us some great tips and suggestions on where to golf. The food we ordered: Riblets, Potato Salad, BBQ Chips, the Hamburger Dave, and Pig on a Bun w/bacon. Everything was delicious! It definitely satisfied our craving for some South Carolina BBQ! Don’t even get me started on the biscuits – we had to ask for some to take home! And the Peach Iced Tea was to die for! We went in for a late lunch/early dinner, so the place was pretty empty. However, the food was out quick, and Phil was attentive without being overbearing. The food was amazing, but we will come back because of Phil. Give the guy a raise!

Very impressed! I come from The north where we don’t particularly specialize in BBQ. I was heading towards the condo I am staying at and passed by this restaurant. Figured I’d give it a go. I was stunned they had a drive-thru window. It wasn’t fast but then again it wasn’t terribly long either. The girl up at the window was not incredibly friendly or outgoing. I got the pulled pork platter. Also got coleslaw(not very impressed whatsoever. It was pretty nasty), Mac and cheese(very good) and fries(good). The corn bread was awesome! I really enjoyed the pork.

We eat here at least once a month. The kids always love it and their kids menu is cheap which includes drink. Pork nachos are good. Chicken fingers are good quality. Salads are fresh and tasty. I love the southern copped salad. Service lately seems to be hit or miss so we try to ask for a one of the few servers that have been there for a while. They also have a drive thru

Jim and Nicks is my family’s spot for when they want BBQ but do not want to head to the island. All in all I enjoy the BBQ offered and the cheesy biscuits are to die for. the only issue I had was our recent visit the service was below par but all of our other trips has been satisfactory.

Having just moved back east from California, I was hungry for authentic BBQ. This place exceeded my expectations. I ordered in and, when I picked up my food, the staff got my order out immediately. A clean, family friendly place with great BBQ.

The food at this place was excellent. We had ribs, the onion rings were delicious. We also ordered some stuffed baked potato concoction but later the waiter told us the baked potatoes were unavailable. They gave us the same stuffing(sour cream, bacon, scallions, cheddar cheese) over mashed potatoes. It was very good. My husband ordered a beer that the waiter told us was also unavailable. The stuff being unavailable was a little weird but the corn muffins with cheddar and all of the food we did get was yummy. Waiter was also very pleasant.

Good BBQ place. I had the soecial: prime rib sandwich. The cheese bread they bring out at the beginning is amazing. Good service. Pretty good sides. Cole slaw was good not great. Pulled pork had a nice flavor.

This place needs more than 5 stars. The cheddar biscuits are delish! It’s hard to decide what to order. The nachos with brisket are amazing! The prices are totally reasonable and it’s a place you will definitely want to come back to. Hope they open one in Raleigh area.

Not going back! Stopped at Jim & Nick’s last night, which is usually good. Not last night! Service was little slow and it really wasn’t very crowded. My husband & brother ordered the brisket. They brought the dinners and and then told us that the side we ordered(macaroni & cheese) was no longer available. Now, the brisket. It was so overcooked, dry and tough that it was difficult to cut with a knife! It basically was inedible. We told the waiter of our disappointment as he whisked away our plates. In his defense, he called the manager over who apologized and took off one dinner from our bill. Just a bad experience when you could not eat the main portion of the meal! No longer on our list of local restaurants to frequent.

I must be on the Bar-B-Q trail lately because I’ve had it in 3 different states known for bbq and what I’ve heard about South Carolina BBQ is that it’s a mustard base sauce okay so this is different than the deep Smoky Texas BBQ or the way they do it in the Carolina’s. Jim ‘N Nick’s with a last minute recommendation I had 45 minutes before previewing this season’s fashion line to some 60 ladies and here I am drinking Sweat Tea about to get Corn on The Cob all over my face, here we go! Sweet Tea was awesome! How can you come down here and not drink that are you kidding me already… I ordered the Chicken Plate with a side of Corn on the Cob that was cooked in their Alabama white sauce. When the chicken plate comes out, you can’t see the BBQ sauce and then it hits you with every bite, it’s cooked deep into the meat which get’s so much flavor into the chicken, I still ended up using some of the other bbq sauces that were on the table though I had to eat fast and get out of there, Jim N Nicks is A-OK. 3 stars.

This place was awesome! My boyfriend and I went on November 29th on our way back to Florida, from Virginia. Our waitress(I wanna say her name Sarah, she was from Akron Ohio) was AMAZING. She was so prompt with everything. Check to make sure we were okay and that our drinks were filled. When getting ready to head out, I asked her if we could have waters to go, it had been a long long day(I95 traffic was HORRIBLE!). She went above and beyond. She brought us drinks to go, offered us whatever we wanted to drink(water was more than enough) and she gave us some of the delicious biscuits to go. She was incredible. I ordered the nachos with pulled pork and toppings. For $ 9 it was HUGE. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich and mac & cheese. It was all delicious. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

I thoroughly enjoyed the brisket plate and the potato salad– some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Their cheesy biscuits are flat-out perfect and my two daughters would happily do nothing but eat them. The first time I went the service was really off, but our server went out of his way to make up for it and ensure we had a good dining experience. He even tracked me down as my family and I were leaving to shake my hand and offer me an apology, while none was needed, it was appreciated. Simply a class act of a restaurant. I’ll definitely make a point of stopping by if I’m in the area. You should too.

Two words: Cheese biscuits. Come for the cheese biscuits and stay for the food. I’ve been to TWO of these southern chain BBQ places, and I’d use one of my three wishes to have one here in northern VA! We were traveling to Buford, SC to see a friend and we stopped in at Jim ‘N Nicks for lunch. I am a burger guy and will generally opt for the burger when at a new place for the first time. Glad I did. It was one of the better burgers I have had, and the fries were great. The price was OK for a lunch burger that was filling with the fries. I ordered it medium and that’s how it came. Not too under or overcooked. Perfect. I have had the BBQ at another Jim«N Nicks– so I didn’t get it this time, but it was good when I had it. The server was quick to refill the sweet tea and was around– but not hovering. All in all– a SOLID4 of 5.

We were back in South Carolina for work and pleasure and we had to stop here for some good BBQ. Our service was very good and food was excellent. I ordered the brisket sandwich with collard greens and boiled cabbage. I love their spicy BBQ sauce and cheesy biscuits. I wish they had one in Albuquerque.

Great service and huge portions. I love the sweet cheddar mini biscuits but be careful-these things will fill you up. They do offer a few different BBQ sauces with your meal and the waitress kept my glass full.

This place does quite the business it seems. The drive-thru was packed when I got there and when I left. Sat at the bar and ordered the brisket with collards and a salad. Never appreciate when they charge more to have a salad, though I concede it was a pretty nice house salad. The brisket was tender with some nice pieces of fat. Would have liked 1 – 2 more slices of brisket considering it was the most expensive meat platter they offered(it had 6 slices of brisket). It didn’t need the sauce on the side. Collards were average but your best bet considering the other side offerings.

Went in today for lunch… Had the smoked riblets, amazing! Definitely a must try. Didn’t care for the cheese biscuits much because they had a sweetness to them I like to keep my savories savory. Other than that the food was good, will come back again.

Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t have a great relationship with chain restaurants. I usually hate them or find them nothing more than mediocre. This was a departure from the norm, the food was absolutely delicious. Decided on this place when we were down in Blufton on a trip. We got the 3 meat special, that included 2 sides. My decision was smoked chicken, pulled pork, and brisket with mac n’ cheese and collard greens – all of them were super good. Like super good. The service was great, even when we were super indecisive the server was nice and gave us plenty of time including some suggestions. She got everything to us in a timely manner and even when our food took a little longer to come out she made sure to give us extra corn muffins, check in to see if we need/wanted anything, and gave us updates on our food which is all you can ask of a server when the issue is with the kitchen. The ambiance is pretty chain-y but who cares when the food is so delicious, they play country/country covers of songs so if you hate country music that might bother you but I really loved it and they had a great selection of local/southern craft beers. If I’m somewhere with a Jim N Nick’s I’d definitely go back and I would not regret it!
