Great find on Unilocal,though the reviews may be a little over rated. It is a quaint little place with decent lunch menu of reubens, burgers, salads and more. Ordering went well, friendly young lady working the register. I decided for basic turkey reuben and sweet potato fries, and an iced tea. Need to keep the tables routinely clean for next customers, as the 2 tops were still dirty from previous customers.
The tea station is self serve which is fine, but I don’t like the ice being served from a freezer with sliding door on top. The ice scoop was inside, where everyone reaches inside for ice. Then when I returned for a refill, the scoop was laying on top of the metal sliding door. Could be a better, without every one’s hands going in it.
Sandwich arrived in timely manner, wrapped sitting next to the sweet potato fries. The fries were nice flat thin cuts, with appropriate amount of flakey salt. But they were slightly over cooked. They tasted good, and with ketchup the over cooked fries were fine. The sandwich was really good, served on rye with coleslaw.
I liked coming here and will likely try it again as a new lunch option when I travel to Bluffton for work. But the ice chest set up and over cooked fries were noticeable and affected my opinion.

Cute little place in a great location. The service was quick, and the lady who checked me out at the register was very nice. The fried green tomato sandwich was good, but needed something else… Maybe onions, some sort of special sauce to make it different? I will be back to try some other times!

First time here. Tried the Reuben and fries based on others reviews a both were very good. The sandwich was overstuffed with meat and the kraut had just the right amount of sour. Fries were crispy with maybe a bit more salt than necessary. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. One piece of advice, invest in a soda fountain instead of canned bottled sodas.

Delicious! Got the BLT and you were able to add avocado, mozzarella and a fried green tomato-​The service was excellent and friendly too! I sat outside in the gorgeous weather and really enjoyed myself! I will definitely be back! :)

Moved to Bluffton and this in my favorite lunch place. I will take a day of work or leave early just to get there sandwiches. My top two sandwiches are the Philly cheese steak and the meatloaf sandwich. Both choices leave me quite satisfied. If I had one complaint it would be the hours (9 – 3) but if you can fill your store like they do at lunch, you will see why.
Keep up the great work downtown deli.

Traditional and Turkey Reubens available and delicious. They have other options but the Reubens are so famously good it is not clear why anyone would order anything else.

Great sammie collection. We called ahead (you can also fax). My mozzarella grilled cheese was soooo good — fresh tomatoes and basil and still hot upon pick-​up. Friendly service. Not too long of a wait. My drink (soda bottle) was a little warm. Parking easy, and also a close walk from Old Town Bluffton.

Great sandwiches they do get a little soggy if you are taking out. However, the french fries are not so good and neither are the prepared salads.

Really good sandwiches. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu board. Sweet potato fries are definitely worth getting. Prices and friendliness can’t be beat.

This is a hidden gem in Bluffton. Great place to have lunch for a very reasonable price. Sandwiches are excellent. Try the turkey Reuben or the red cedar. Both great… also try the seafood chowder. It was a special when I was there but it was one of the best seafood soups I’ve ever had. It felt like a dish from a fine dining restaurant!

I thought I had already reviewed the Downtown Deli, but apparently not. Basically they have great food and you will not wait long to get it. The guys working there are very nice and to the point, my sandwich made it to my mouth in 3.5 minutes from my order. All Boars Head products on slicing meats and cheeses, all other sandwich fillers are equally on par with freshness and quality, pleanty of room to sit and spread your paper out and take a more leisurely lunch time.
As soon as you walk in you see a great wite wash board with sandwich specials, which is a good place to start and you could throw a dart at it and come away very satisfyied.

My wife and I were in Bluffton shopping and we looked up a place to eat and the Downtown Deli came up. We went in completely blind into and left pleasantly surprised and our stomachs satisfied. We plan on future visits and would recommend it to anyone. The setup inside is plain and simple but the sandwiches are not. Enjoy!
