This place has gone downhill since the owner passed some years ago. He was a great guy from Switzerland and always had a smile on his face. Unfortunately, the quality and customer service passed along with Mr. Roberts. There are much better chocolate places around and even more online. Try Maxx Chocolate in Lucern if you ever get a chance.

As a professionally trained pastry chef, making my own chocolates for many years, I can vouche that the chocolates made here are of the highest quality. The selection is good, but conservative, probably given the customer base. Packaging is very good for the price, and the new owners are taking it very seriously to keep the high standards and traditions established by the founder. I sampled across their milk, dark and white chocolate selections and was impressed across the board. The new owners continue to use extremely high quality imported Belgian chocolate. If you are used to places like Godiva or Sees candies, this place will blow your socks off. Going back for more tomorrow. Hope to see you there.

It was okay, but I was expecting much more based upon the hype from a Sun Sentinel review and was a bit disappointed. I have been to several«mom and pop» chocolatiers in this country that far surpassed Mr. Roberts Chocolates in both quality and variety.

The shop is located in a depressingly poor looking strip center on Federal Highway off 20th Street. A bit north of Glades on west side of Federal. Signage is poor, you got to look for it. Original owner Mr Roberts long since gone. Current owners use his recipes. The chocolates are made in small batches, always fresh, creative designs. And of course, the chocolate is incredibly good. If you must give a name like Godiva, for the sake of the name, try to get beyond this, and try their chocolates. I’m sending two lbs of truffles($ 35 a lb!) to an uncle in NY celebrating his 90th birthday, and I’m certain it will be devoured.(they ship priority mail in insulated containers) Check this place out. You will be pleasantly surprised. Don’t be turned off by the location and outside appearance.

Forget Godiva… you want to impress someone with an excellent box of chocolates? Visit Mr. Roberts. Boy are they good. And the packaging isn’t too shabby either… the chocolates come in a pretty burgundy velvety box and gold ribbon. The selection is pretty overwhelming so I just got the ‘assortment’. The quality of the chocolate is amazing. And with so many fillings to choose… from traditional like caramel, nuts and mint to more adventurous ones like rum raisin, marzipan and coffee. Milk and dark and there’s also a sugar free section. Wonderful local chocolate boutique. I highly recommend it!

I have been coming to Mr. Roberts for over ten years. It’s my weekly stop to fulfill my chocolate craving and always a thoughtful gift. The creativity makes it so you can personalize your chocolate present. I now get special requests. My favorites are the sea salt Carmel bites, champagne truffles, candied, orange slice half dipped in chocolate and the toffee bar for crunch. Just one piece can satisfy any craving but a box is worth it to share the love.

Mr. Robert’s Chocolates is fantastic! My mother is a huge fan, and I never visit without scooping up some chocolate for the trip back home. Today, in lieu of flowers, I decided to send my mother her beloved chocolates. Not only was my #2 box of chocolates delivered promptly, but Melissa on the phone new who my mother was and made suggestions as to her favorites. Further, I must add that chocolates for any chocoholic is a far more welcome gift offering bigger bang for the buck than flowers that die within the week. Bön appetit!

I met the owner many years ago and tried many of his chocolates over the years. This place never fails to be the best chocolate store in the world. It is worth every penny and just as good as any place in New York in a very low key setting. The owner already aged 20 years ago never failed to entertain me and educate me on the nuances of chocolate. I hope you have a chance for a short conversation. Unbelievable.

This wonderful chocolate shop is in a rather low down gritty section of Boca on Federal Highway. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find hand made(right in the store), elegant, mouth watering chocolate sweets. Forget Kilwins or Lady Godiva. These chocolates are on a higher level, more like New York’s Jacques Torres’ confections. And the prices, at least compared to the world’s best chocolate, were moderate.
