This is the real deal. Home away from home for some of us NYers who grew up with a sweet Mom who loved to feed you and feed you plus all your friends and neighbors.
Impeccable quality and delicious treats. Love their Italian wedding cookies, cannolis, carrot cake, rainbow cookies and raspberry tarts.
Love their no menu and different daily lunch which gets posted on Facebook and their website before they open at 9 am. $ 12 and change for a soup, main dish, pasta and focaccia bread.
Love their Caprese sandwich on Giovanna’s own Ciabatta bread made right in their kitchen.
Love that they are starting a Saturday brunch this weekend on June 25 for all of us who can’t make it to Cosa Duci from Tuesday to Friday for lunch or for those of us who can’t wait for the next lunch on Tuesday. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
I am hooked and absolutely love Cosa Duci!

Price of a meal plays a factor in how much I like it. Simply because I think about «is it worth it?» .
My husband and I came here because of great reviews in Unilocal.Inside, we were greater by owners immediately. Very friendly ladies. I had a ricotta pastry and cappuccino and my husband had a ham croissant. I thought croissant looked rather small for $ 5 a piece.
But it was fully filled with ham and cheese and it was enough for my husbands breakfast! He says it was delicious (and he is a picky European eater)
My pastry was great too. Flaky but dense ricotta filled with tinge of orange zest… cappuccino was just right as well .
Maybe a bit pricy for a bakery but definitely worth it! !!

Another one of my favorite go-​to family owned businesses in East Boca, which I have frequented since their opening almost 4 years ago at this location, having moved from a tiny bakery with only 4 seats for patrons. I’m guilty of not having submitting a review earlier, but many of my Unilocal friends in the East Boca area have heard my rave assessment. Here it is for the world to read.
First, this really is a family created, managed, operated, and old-​world inspired Italian bakery, which has branched out to serving breakfast and lunch items. Giovanna, or Mama as many call her, is the chef, kitchen supervisor, put-​her-​hands in the dough owner, along with her daughter Sylvia and son Joseph, who are always present, waiting on tables or behind the counter, if you can see past the display units filled with goodies. They are there daily at 5 AM, and depending on the holidays or special events for which they bake (think 20,000 biscotti for the South Beach Food Festival!!), can be seen at 1 AM in the kitchens!
Cosa Duci was awarded a contract from Whole Foods several years ago, initially to make biscotti for one location, according to their exacting quality control standards, and to make gluten free biscotti, as well. WF inspects her kitchens regularly. Based on the rave reviews, Cosa Duci is now providing WF with biscotti and Italian cookies for ALL of their Florida stores! What an achievement and honor. I will not share the story how the WF relationship started — ask Sylvia when you are there, it is an inspiring story.
Oh, you want to know about the baked goods? The lunches? The breakfasts? The quiche? The super strong coffee? Well, just look at the numerous pictures I have posted over the years, and they tell the story better than any verbiage. Breakfast offerings change daily, and the lunch menu is fixed at $ 11 as of this writing, and changes daily, depending on what Giovanna feels like preparing. She posts to FaceBook daily, uses Instagram, and accepts ApplePay. Sylvia is the media maven, and knows the value of social media, and handles the logistics of contracts and operations.
Want to know more of the family, their awards and accolades, honors received in USA and Italy? Just look at all of the articles and framed pictures on the walls. Stop by. Have a pasty. Buy a cake. Take home biscotti for yourself. Have it shipped to family. Watch the live Italian TV station in the main dining room. Sit in the small front dining room which fits 4 people, or the rear room which fits about 10. Or now, enjoy the beautiful outside café, surrounded by plants and flowers, cultivated by the family. Take your time, no one will rush you.
Note, son Joseph has MS, and a percent of the gross profit is donated to MS research. Giovanna has done this since day 1, and many other businesses should follow her example.
You will not find a more authentic Italian Bakery anywhere in Florida. And you will not find a more talented, loving and caring family than Giovanna, Sylvia, and Joseph.

This café was a wonderful find! The cookies are all very fresh and made right there in house. You must try everything! And the people who own the shop are so pleasant and friendly and warm and welcoming. If you live in the area you should make this a regular stop, or if you’re visiting make it a must see-​must taste when you come to town.

We struggled a little to find this place, but it was well worth it. Soon as you walk in, you are greeted, and cases of terrific looking food surrounded the prep area. Everything looked really good and we had difficulties making our choices. In the end we chose spinach croissants and artichoke quiches. Both were excellent as were the desserts we decided to take with us.

I have been buying from Cosa Duci via Whole Foods. The baked goods are authentic Italian. I decided since I was in Boca Raton I would go straight to the source. Well now I’m really hooked. I stopped in for dessert but now I can’t wait to go back again for Lunch.

Authentic and delicious Italian food made with love. Doesn’t get better! The Italian cookies and pastries are fresh and make great gifts to give!

I stopped by here last week to try out breakfast, after reading some amazing reviews. I walked in to a very cute little bakery, lots of tables both inside and out and a friendly face saying hello. They have a wonderful selection of pastries as reasonable prices, a few breakfast items (but very limited), and a daily lunch special. I used my Unilocal check-​in cappuccino which was very tasty and beautiful in presentation with a cute little chocolate dipped cookie spoon. I also had the artichoke quiche, but it was the only quiche flavor, I would have liked a bigger selection at least 2 – 3 types. My quiche was very delicious and flavorful but a bit cold on the inside. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful and I will definitely be back!

This is by far my favorite place to escape to. I feel like I am transported to Italy and enjoying the delicious food and wonderful people. I usually get a cappuccino and my favorite raspberry linzer cookie after every meal! I LOVE the raspberry linzer!!! I actually ordered that same cookie for my wedding favors. Mama Giovanna and her daughter Silvia helped me get my order in. Everything came out amazing. I highly recommend them! They bake everything from scratch and use high quality products.

Boy was this disappointing. Such an adorable place with delicious looking desserts but these desserts were a miss for us.
We are accustomed to New York Italian pastries so were super excited to try these from an authentic Italian family but frankly, they were nothing special.
We took all of our dessert to go home. A couple of the items actually tasted old/​stale. I had a rum pastry (which was supposed to be like a rum baba but it wasn’t the same shape). It was soaked in rum but the cream was old and almost solidified. Tried a homemade fig cookie — dry and pasty. Hubby had something called chocolate salami (it looked like salami but it was chocolate and nuts) — tasted like a dried out brownie. My daughter had a cannoli — it was fine — nothing spectacular.
Still searching for a great Italian pastry shop in south Florida…

This is a place where you feel like you’ve been invited into grandma’s kitchen for a family meal. I ordered the lunch special, not knowing much about Italian food. And yum! We actually blew a month long gluten-​free diet, and do not feel remotely guilty. Definitely the place to indulge in lunch. specials, bread and deserts! (I can run a few extra miles at the gym.)
My favorite part of visit, was seeing the sweet elder owner coming out from counter to greet her new customers. (She caught me literally licking my bowl after consuming a plate of meatloaf and pasta. Argh, embarrassing!)

AMAZING! I’d heard wonderful things about this place for almost a year before I finally made the trek up from Pompano to visit, and let me tell you it was 100% worth it! The food was as authentic as it gets and delicious. Reminds me of having dinner with my family. Be forewarned: there is no menu for the lunch food here; just like at Mom’s house, you show up and eat whatever is being served that day. For $ 11 though, it’s a total steal — you get some DELICIOUS bread, a cup of soup, and an entrée with a side (we had meat lasagna with eggplant salad). I especially love how this place is owned by a sweet mother-​daughter duo who are busy working the register and lovingly making the food, and their mission to support MS research. Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing food and atmosphere, the staff/​owners are amazingly attentive and pleasant to speak with. I had split pea soup, ravioli, meatballs and focaccia which were also amazing. I will be back very soon to try the desserts and other items. The menu changes daily which keeps things interesting.

Found this hidden jewel buried under deep construction in East Boca… The service is friendly, the pastries are divine and available in large or small portions! Sylvia was wonderful introducing me to some delicious Italian pastry for Easter… Everything is homemade with Mama in the back making it all lovingly… Rare in South Florida! Moderately priced, its worth every penny spent!

This little bakery is tucked off the main road but definitely worth a visit. Various Italian cookies and pastries including many gluten free options. Everything is baked fresh and the lunch menu is family style, changing depending on the day. Very cute and cozy atmosphere for a cup of coffee and a treat.

Oh my sweet heaven! This cute bakery is filled with lots of goodies and the décor is super adorable. I stopped in here to get some treats for dessert tonight and I got a free cappuccino by checking in. I’m not a fan of cappuccinos, but the one I had today was delicious. They added a dollop of caramel flavoring and I would definitely get it again. Since there was so many options to choose from, I settled for a tiramisu, chocolate chip cannoli, and a Nutella croissant. My favorite was the croissant. It was amazing! The staff was very nice and friendly and the place is spotless. However, I didn’t realize they serve food here as well. I can only imagine how good that is. Looks like I’ll be making another appearance to try that out in the near future!

Best Italian Food i’ve found in America after traveling to all 48 intercontinental United States. Better than New York’s Little Italy, etc… Reminds me of being back in Italy back in 2005. Flavors and recipes are purely authentic and hand-​made. Also, very humble and kind staff. 5 stars!
Sicilian Grandmother comes in every morning to make a 3 course lunch menu from scratch. You pay $ 12 and get the course of the day. The Café is decorated like her living room. Plate sets, dining room, all authentic. Check the website to find out what the menu is for that day.

As authentically Italian as you will ever find. Cosa Duci is my favorite bakery in South Florida. I love that it is Italian-​owned and that you can watch RAI when you’re there having lunch or coffee. The mother-​daughter owners, Giovanna and Silvia, know a lot about how to make their customers feel special, like family. I order their delectable cookie platters for both holiday gatherings with friends/​family and also as client holiday giftsbecause they have beautiful packaging. Their pastries are so good, too, and the best profiterole, cannoli and sfinge I’ve ever had. I also love their gluten-​free products, especially their gluten-​free tiramisu. And, of course, it’s the best cappuccino you will find.
You also won’t find a better deal for lunch. It’s chef’s choice and they include a soup, homemade foccaccia and an entrée that consists of two dishes, such as chicken parmagiana with baked ziti. Last time I was there this was all included for only $ 11. It doesn’t matter what they serve because everything is excellent. It’s kind of like in Italy when you visit your Mamma or Nonna for lunch and you’re always being pleasantly surprised because she’s such a good cook.
As if all of that were not enough, it’s a beautiful and charming location and Silvia has done a beautiful job decorating it with antiques and tea sets and charming baskets. I buy my olive oil here, too, because they have a section of imported Italian foods.
I’m very grateful to have Cosa Duci right near my home!

So here is the concept. A single prix fixe menu of $ 11, Italian home cooked meal and great service. No wonder it is a winner!
The menu changes from day to day, and you can get a chance to preview what they are serving that day, by going to their website. But what is all the fun in that? I say, skip the preview and take your chances as the meal is bound to be awesome.
When I was there, the menu was egg and spinach soup; pasta with sardines (it was St. Jospeh’s Day); Foccacia and meatballs. Everything was delicious. And for anyone who knows me, knows that I almost never eat fish. This is why I say, don’t look at the menu, if you can, as I almost missed out. However, with a little prodding from my wife, I went with it and it turned out to be a really nice surprise. Rounded off the meal with a nice Zeppeli stuffed with ricotta and topped with powder sugar and with one of the largest (and yummy) cappucino’s I have ever seen.
So if you want delicous food, good service and a price that is hard to beat, plan on coming here. Whether or not you preview the menu or just go for it; that I leave to you.
