Interstate Towing

My car battery went dead in the Boca Raton Regional Hospital parking lot on Saturday afternoon. I called AAA and in less than ½ hour, a courteous young man named Marko from Interstate Towing was at my car. He checked my three year old battery and gave me the option to jump start it and then have it recharged the next day or purchase a new AAA battery with 3 year on site replacement by AAA anywhere in the US or Canada for $ 125.00. I chose the new battery and within 15 minutes, I was on the road again. I praise Marko for his knowledge and friendliness. Thank you, Marko and Interstate Towing.

When dealing with a flat tire recently, I called AAA (I’m a member) who dispatched someone from Interstate Towing to come out and help get the spare donut tire installed, until I could get the tire replaced professionally. Luckily I was able to get my car to my home driveway before the tire went totally flat, so the guy came right out to my home within an hour of placing the call. He was able to remove the flat tire and install the donut within about 15 – 20 minutes, and then I was on my way. Overall, not a bad experience!

With AAA, I’m pretty limited to whoever they send out. I’ve been with AAA for 4 years and, honestly, the worst experience I ever had with car trouble was when I called to have someone deliver and install a battery. They sent Marko from interstate towing who proceeded to tell me it would take extra time and money. He then spoke to my dad on the phone to explain the dilemma (I wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting conned out of money) and I agreed to pay, in total over $ 180 to have this battery installed. Along with the man’s recurrent rudeness throughout the entire interaction with me, he then said «well, we’re backed up so I’m just going to jump you.» He jumped my car and then left? My car wasn’t going to start back up again so there was no point in going anywhere to get it fixed because it was a Sunday evening. I had AAA send out another person who was also from Interstate Towing, Eddy (Who was awesome!) to jump my car the next morning so I could take it to Sears Auto where they replaced the battery for a total of $ 140.
Your staff lost you a reasonable amount of money from me; I’ll never contact for a battery replacement again and have left a complaint with AAA.
Would not ever recommend them, if you can help it, but AAA doesn’t give you an option.

Tow was arranged though Progressives tow service. Really bad experience. They were fast to call and say the driver would be there in 15 minutes, so I waited in the rain, instead of walking to Starbucks where I could have got a cup of Joe, breakfast and actually got some of my work done. Close to two hours later, the driver called and said he just had drop one more car, and he was on the way. A half hour later, they arrived. After hooking the car up, I get in the cab and he informs me we have to go pick up, and drop off another car before we can drop mine. I ask to speak to his boss and they tell me that’s the way it goes, too bad. I tell him I have no desire to drive around with this guy and again I’m told too bad. The driver tells me, he’d be happy to just give me the keys to the truck, he’s tired of them treating him like crap and making him out to be the bad buy. So, another hour give or take out of my way, we finally arrive some three +/​-​hours after my initial call. Now, the guy cant back up a tow truck. Really. I’m not talking threading a needle, I’m talking basic backing skills, nothing fancy. You can bet the guys repoing the cars are 1000% better at backing their trucks into tight spots. Frustrated, my mechanic finally tells him to drop it anywhere he can, so we can push the car where it needs to go. Maybe next time, I’ll just call a friend to push it from the beginning and save all the time and heartache. All in all, about typical for South Florida towing companies, sadly, I’d expect no better, but I’m keeping the card so if there is a next time, I’ll ask to try someone else. Fast forward a couple of weeks and now the owner keeps claiming it wasn’t them. No apology, just keeps telling me I got it wrong. Really? Was this all a bad dream or am I psychic? Funny, I was in their truck, the address and phone matches, and the driver gave me a business card. They many not have a contract with the company Progressive uses to book their tows, but it absolutely WAS their company.

My car wouldn’t start. I called aaa road service. They sent interstate towing out and within 15 minutes George had arrived.
Within 20 more minutes George diagnosed and fixed the problem. Got me on the road with no time lost

Today I had a very trying day my truck broke down and I had to call Triple A for service they sent out interstate towing the driver’s name was Charlie he came out in record time was very nice and very understanding of my problems he brought my truck to Bocas best auto where it was fixed very fast and very reliable and very decent price I just want to say the owner of the shop was named Joe he was also very nice and understanding he gave me a ride to get lunch while I was waiting for my car to get fixed

Horrible! I would give 0 stars if I could and would wish to have nothing to do with Interstate Towing again if not for the fact that they are contracted with AAA. Last week, I had one of the worst days thanks to their terrible service and it was all over a battery change. It tooks hours and hours to get this done, 4 SERVICE CALLS and it became a huge drama, all due to their poor handling of the service calls. In case you don’t want to read the whole review, at one point one of their service guys (Dean or Dane, I believe) said that the service call was taking too long and his dispatcher said that he had to leave. I could hardly believe it when he got in his truck and left me in the mall parking lot with the hood up, battery disconnected and the car dead. What?! Two more service calls from these jokers and hours later before I was able to drive my car out of the parking lot.
It all started in the morning when I went out to my car and the battery was dead. I called AAA and out came a service person. This guy who did the service call said that the battery might recover if it had a deep charge, and he told me that if I had the deep charge done but the battery wouldn’t stay charged, the battery would be replaced for free under warranty. I have a AAA battery and it’s replaced for free under warranty if it dies within 3 years. It was a hassle to do the deep charge, but I didn’t want to pay for something under warranty so off to Sears I went to get the battery deep charged. Of course, the battery didn’t hold the charge, so when the Sears mechanic drove my car out to the mall parking lot and turned it off, the car was dead. I called AAA for their battery replacement and that’s when the true hell with Interstate Towing began.
Their service guy, Dean/​Dane, seemed nice at first, but he was the WORST. It took a long time to do the battery test for the warranty replacement paperwork. During that time, I offered to call AAA to get the date of the battery replacement since I didn’t have the paperwork. I didn’t think I needed it since the first guy had the information. Dean/​Dane said that he could get the date from his dispatcher, but when he finally asked him, the date came back as 2011, which would not be under full warranty replacement. I knew this wasn’t right so I got on the phone to AAA. While I’m making this call and have AAA on the line, Dean/​Dane tells me that his dispatcher says this service call is taking too long and he’s going to leave. He would jump the car, but not replace the battery. I disagreed with this approach since why could the battery not be replaced since it takes so little time and I would have the date momentarily from AAA? Plus, I have the AAA membership and would we not all assume that a service call would be completed when the situation is addressed and battery replaced? Next up came the unbelievable part, when Dean/​Dane went back to the truck and while I assume that it was to talk to the dispatcher, instead it was to drive off and leave me there with the hood up, battery disconnected and car dead like I mentioned above. I was SO FURIOUS and UPSET and SHOCKED. Since I was still on the phone with AAA and they were listening to this situation play out, the AAA agent quickly escalated my call to his manager (without my even asking).
Since I couldn’t drive the car, AAA sent another service person out, which again was from Interstate Towing. I expressed my concern to AAA about getting the same company, but it sounded like my only choice. The next Interstate Towing guy, Jason (I believe), put the battery in the car but he couldn’t get the terminals to attach it to tighten up. He tried for a while, all of the time muttering about the terrible day (tell me about it!) and throwing his tools down on the ground as if he’s angry to be there. Plus, he pulled up his truck behind my car, which was in the driving lane of the mall parking lot, instead of parking in one of the many available parking spots close by. A few cars tried to pull up that lane and were forced to back up and turn around. When the first one came up, I pointed out that someone was behind the truck, and Jason’s reply was that it was too bad for the person because he wasn’t moving the truck. Nice. Since Jason couldn’t fully connect the battery, we agreed that the car needed to be towed to my mechanic (at this point, so many hours had gone by that Sears was closed, plus I would want my mechanic anyway). So I had to call AAA AGAIN to get a tow truck.
Interstate Towing came out again with the tow truck. Their service guy, Pat S., gets this company the 1 star because he was helpful and actually got the car running. Hallelujah! He was perplexed that the car would have to be towed over the loose terminals, and so he tried some other tools and Presto!, the battery was tightened within minutes. He was courteous and took care of things in less than 15 minutes, which is

We have AAA and they dispatched Interstate. The man said it would be 5.00 per mile after five miles. I explained we are AAA Plus members. He said, «Nope — it’s 5.00 per mile».
I called AAA and they said absolutely not. You have 100 miles FREE towing. I went back to the man and explained this and he said not to argue with him. I said I was not arguing just explaining. He rudely said — pay it or you can’t get towed.
Being the vehicle was already on his truck, we gave him our credit card. He charged us $ 44.00.
We called AAA again and after 35 minutes, we were instructed to call Interstate office for a refund.
Interstate was unprofessional and rude. They held us hostage. Very poor customer service. What bothers me the most is they are a AAA service provider and know the rules. I showed the driver my card and he could care less.
AAA should not allow them to be on the program. Black eye for AAA.

Unilocal says Interstate Towing is closed — wishful thinking! The driver couldn’t have been nicer but the faceless, cowardly dispatcher and supervisor were clearly Hellbound.
Our truck broke down in Deerfield — 1000 miles from home and squarely in an ‘unfriendly’ neighborhood. Tow truck was able to take the truck but not the trailer it was hauling. We arranged a rental truck to handle the trailer BUT it had to be picked up within 30 minutes (dose of business).
Though we were willing to pay for the 2 miles ‘out of the way’ for the towtruck driver to drop my husband off at the rental place, the dispatcher actually instructed the driver to leave my husband on the side of the road — forcing him to run 2 miles — in work clothes and carrying his briefcase in the 85 degree heat — through the questionable neighborhood to get the rental. If we weren’t able to get the rental, we’d have had to abandon the trailer and its valuable contents.
When I called the Interstate office to get clarification on the instructions (though I’d actually heard the instructions myself on the tow radio), the dispatcher told me that the company had no obligation to any people — only to move cars. I then spoke to a supervisor who wouldn’t give me his name but reiterated that the company had no concern for stranded drivers or trailers. He talked over me through the conversation then had the nerve to tell me that I needed to not talk because «[he] hadn’t given [me] permission to talk.»
I called Interstate the next day to talk to the company owner but he wouldn’t talk to me. The person with whom I spoke said that Interstate had done AAA work for 30 years and that nothing I had to say or do would change that. I asked that the owner call me back but –big surprise — I never heard anything back.
Hopefully, AAA will handle this contractor appropriately. In the meantime, anyone who willingly puts themselves in Interstate’s incompetent hands should consider themselves duly warned. (Anyone looking to hire a professional driver who does a great job of calming down upset customers should look up ‘Anthony.’)

Interstate towing in Bocas Raton FL is the worst towing service ever. They were sent by AAA and in 35 years of membership they we’re the rudest, nastiest people I ever encountered bar none. In a million years I’d NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN and I suggest you pass on them as well.

After an unsatisfactory experience with a towing company earlier that day, I utilized my AAA membership and was able to have this company tow my car from the previous towing yard to my home address.
Wish I had called them first and saved myself a ridiculous amount of money versus the other company I ended up going with involuntarily. Oh well!
