Mitch’s Westside Bagels Too

Very expensive compared to other bagel places. Service is terrible. I won’t go back.

Mitch’s is a quintessential Jewish deli, a chain establishment now that still focuses on giving you a taste of New York at a price. I happen to think Mitch’s is among the better bagel options in SoFla and they do a lot of things well, but nothing I’ve had here was outstanding. They’re like the Nick Swisher of bagel joints.
Their breakfast sandwiches are good as well as their omelets but a few things I’ve noticed. Inconstancy is one. On a few occasions I’ve gone back and ordered literally the same item days later and it tasted a little different. Sometimes they seem overwhelmed, understaffed or inattentive at times. Mind you, the Boca location isn’t all that busy during the weekdays too.
Lastly, their prices are bit on the high side. It’s not Katz deli, it’s not Mothers (Nola) but if you go with a family it can add up pretty quick. When you’re craving some bagel and lox and maybe a Doc Browns you could easily walk out of there $ 15 lighter when it’s all said and done. I realize there is a cost for this kind of food, but I can’t help but feel a bit unfulfilled when I leave. It’s a good option, but with Bagel Works or L.I. Bagels dowe the road it will have a hard time becoming #1 in my rotation with those concerns.

As someone from Philadelphia, it is nearly impossible to find a good bagel in South Florida, having said that Westside Bagel gets pretty close to it. In reality, it’s much more than a bagel place, more of a Jewish style deli that really hits home on all fronts. The food here is really great and brought me memories from back home, the atmosphere reminds me of a small Jewish deli from back home, etc.
A must try deli sandwich here is The New Yorker, which is corned-​beef, cheese, sauerkraut on a knish, and it also comes with a side such as potato salad. I wasn’t a big fan of the potato salad, but other than that, everything was really good comfort food. The price here was also reasonable, especially for all the food you get. In addition to that, the bagels here are great. I get a garlic bagel every time I come, and it always knocks it out of the ballpark in terms of taste. Really a great place to go in Boca Raton.

Decent food, expensive.
$ 4.99 for a kids meal. I had a nova platter for $ 10.99 and it was a bagel with 2 slices of nova. Really? For $ 11? My wife had a spinach and feta omelet for around $ 9. With two cups of coffee, we were out the door for close to $ 40. I think that’s two much for a bagel joint.
My favorite experience of this visit was watching the ‘3 second rule’ in play. I watched the waitress drop a bagel on the floor as she was carrying over new bagels to put in the basket (all behind the counter, but you can see this when you are sitting over to the side). I watched in slow motion as I anticpatied her decision ‘will she? won’t she?’…I’m sad to say it was the former? Bagel back in the basket. Ewwww.
Better options out there.

Giant sandwich. I mean giant. Had the chicken salad club, and it had two delicious layers of very chunky chicken salad. Almost too much to eat. Service wasn’t the best, but it was okay. Definitely will go back. A bit more expensive than it needed to be, but West Boca — always expensive.

Breakfast was great I loved the bagels. I also had the corned beef hash and potatoes which was really tasty not salty or mushy. Eggs actually came out cooked correctly. Hubby had the Lox and eggs which was good but very salty omg and I love salt but it was overpowering the whole dish.
Prices are cheap or normal for boca. Not better than the original pancake house down the street but a very good second. Definitely will go back I like the homemade diner feel of the place and the servers were friendly.

Food is very good. Too expensive!
Prices make NYC seem like a fair value. Tuna on a bagel is $ 9.00. A plain bagel sells for .95 so I guess a little less than a ¼ pound of tuna for 8 bucks???
We asked for a couple of extra pickles, they did not add them. My son walked back in and asked and was told that we were never charged for them.
Hmmmm 4 bagels, 2 ice coffees and a small OJ for almost $ 40.00 and they forgot to charge us for 2 pickles.
It seem that would have been an investment in the company to give away 2 pickles.
I hope this is NOT the only bagel place in Boca!

Do not go here on a Sunday.
They were understaffed, and the two managers (pics uploaded) did nothing to help. This place is poorly managed. I would comment on the food, but I never got to eat. Stay away from this deli. There are others close by to try out including Ben’s and Flakowitz.

As a New York transplant, there are two key carb items that I miss about New York: Pizza and Bagels.
Although I have found some pizza places near West Boca that come close to the former, the later has been missing since a bagel place in Loggers’ Run closed around 8 years ago.
Westside Bagels Too, has now filled that gap. Although you will find the bagels to be «lighter» than their NY counterparts, they are very tasty. What you will also find is a variety of bagels that you will not normally find such as Super Onion, Egg and (although technically not a bagel) Bialys. They also have all the «schmer» you can ask for!
