After being closed for nine months for some serious renovations, I am happy to report that they reopened several months ago. This location went from being dirty and dumpy to sparkling clean and gorgeous. Along with the renovations, they also revamped their management team. I have been in here quite a few times and each and every time, I left truly amazed at just how nice a Publix can be. They put a lot of effort into their produce department. The manager told me they are trying to compete with the Publix Greenwise locations. The selection and price points are even competitive with Whole Foods. Excellent variety of assorted fruits and vegetables you normally would not see in a normal Publix. The meat department has a Custom Cuts counter. Yes, they have in house butchers just ready to trim your brisket or remove the skin from your chicken. And they are friendly and very helpful at helping you find a particular cut of meat. Very cool. The floral department has a really nice selection of various flowers and plants. I work right down the street if you would like to send me flowers, lol. The store is beautifully designed. The isles are wide and spacious, and the store is immaculate. Cashiers are really friendly and the employees really go out of their way to help you. Such a drastic change from how this location used to be. A Chinese Buffet in Publix? Wow, that’s different. Let me tell you, and we all know how picky I am, but it’s good! Yup, good Chinese takeout from Publix. Who would have thought that Publix would rock it in the Chinese food arena? Certainly not me. The General Tso’s is really good. Much better than you would find in any mall food court. In addition to the Chinese Buffet, they have a great Salad Bar. Tons of toppings including a few protein choices too. Between the Salad Bar, Chinese food, and the assorted soups and lets not forget the Olive Bar, you really can quit cooking. Throw in a rotisserie chicken and your all set. On the side of the deli is a small area with tables and chairs. Perfect if you want to grab a quick lunch or just a snack. The Bakery showcases some nice looking desserts, but so far I have not tried any of them. Additionally, they have a cheese selection that from what I can see, offers a few gourmet cheeses at supermarket prices. Conveniently the cheese is located just a few feet away from the gigantic Wine Department. I’m not a wine drinker, so I can’t comment on price points, but you can’t help but notice how large this department is. Wine, cheese, olives, put it all together and you have all the makings for a wine and cheese party or a night of some good snacking. They did a lovely job with the renovations, did some housekeeping with the management and presto, the most beautiful and modernized Publix I have ever stepped foot in. Job well done and exceeded my expectations for sure.

This publix though small has everything I need to stock my condo. I’m glad it’s near federal and the bridge over to the ocean.
