The Paw Depot

I use the grooming services at Paw Depot for my golden. I only go in for a wash, blowdry, and combing. They do a nice job on her and she always smells fresh and clean. It is fairly quick and usually they are done in an hour and half. There is a bit of a language barrier with the groomer which I can see would be an issue if you are trying to explain details to her. But, for the basics we have been very happy.

Never again. Today was the second time I brought my dogs in to get groomed. The first time was a full groom it was ok, other than uneven cut ears on my Shihtzu, it was not bad enough to never return.
This time they went in just for a bath, no cut. I specifically tell every groomer not to cut around the girls eyes because the hair grows back and curls in their eyes which leads to tear staining. Most good groomers know this especially for Maltese! We go to pick up the dogs and in the car I notice my perfectly white little Maltese’s nose and eye area were shaved!!! AND my Shihtzu’ eye nose area was hacked off unevenly! (see pics taken in the car).
We went back inside to the owner to complain and all he says is «I can give you a free bag of treats, sorry I can’t make the hair grow back… Then he goes back to the groomer to tell her what she did wrong, he comes back and says «she only did what she did last time» and proceeds to hand me a $ 20 bill…
NO WAY! If that was done last time I would have never come back!
I personally owned a very successful groom shop in my past (still doing great business today), this is not the way to handle an upset customer when you clearly made a mistake!
A. The groomer needs to go to grooming school again.
B. The owner should have just apologized and offered a next bath on them (not just insulting me by saying he can’t make the hair grow back and, that’s what they did before, and just waving a $ 20 bill at me.
I paid $ 60 plus tip to now have 2 beautiful babies that have hacked up faces.
Sorry, never again.

We found this place on Unilocal while we were on vacation for two weeks in Boca Raton. We had no idea how bad the fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes are this year and my dog ended up having a terrifying «infestation» of fleas and ticks. It was very, very bad. It’s especially bad because my dog was sleeping on the bed with us and I ended up being bitten all over my body. So we set out to look for a pet store that seemed like they truly care about dogs and not just trying to make a profit. Though at first, we weren’t sure if this place was what we were looking for. I definitely did not want to support big pet stores like Petco and I definitely won’t support pet stores that sell puppies who are most likely from puppy mills. But those are entirely different topics and if anyone wants to know more, feel free to send me a message and I’ll tell you what I can.
We were looking around the Paw Depot and we were immediately greeted by Matt. He asked if we needed help and he suggested a few products according to our preferences. My preference is natural and organic which was definitely not my husband’s. We ended up taking an all natural dog shampoo (which was one of the better ones I’ve tried before), Advantix II, and a jar of diatomaceous earth (which is an amazing natural product for fleas, ticks, and more). Matt was very helpful with our purchase because he took the time to present us with our options. He even offered to drop off a product that was currently out of stock since he was going out for delivery later in the day anyway.
The place is smaller than the big pet stores, but it has everything we needed. The big pet stores do not carry the food my dog eats and this place has it. It’s about the same price I usually pay for in California. We looked around and there were a good selection of products for dogs. There are products for other animals too, but I didn’t really bother to look at any of it. There were cute dog toys all over, cute holiday outfits for dogs, holiday treats, and all kinds of goodies along with their usual stock. It’s a good place to check out if you have a pet you like to spoil. They only have high quality food for dogs and has a few specialty diets available.
I do not think their prices are outrageous. I think they are comparable to the big pet stores and other places in the area. I saw another review here that said they found the same product for less on the internet, which is really not a big surprise. Online retailers do so well for a number of reasons and that is why they are putting a lot of small places out of business. But anyone who has lived for the past 25+ years would know that. Just think about Amazon and Netflix. Both of them have put out a lot of places out of business.
For the excellent customer service and products, this place definitely comes up on top of the other stores in the area. Matt even offered to drop off a product for us, which we felt was above and beyond. We also checked in on our Unilocal app and received $ 5 off our purchase.
Anyway, I highly recommend this place. Matt is very knowledgeable and approachable. Competitive prices for the area. Good selection of quality dog food. Excellent customer service, great products, and outstanding business overall.

8−29−15. Waste of time and money! I brought my dog in for grooming. I was told it would take 45 minutes. Over two hours later and they still hadn’t even cut his hair yet. I couldn’t wait any longer and paid $ 40 to have someone take over two hours to give my tiny dog a bath. They were very rude as if they were doing me a favor. DO NOT bring your dog here if you want good service in a timely manner. I have never ever written a bad review for any business but this place is terrible. I was ready to purchase my Fromm dog food from them as well. Good thing I didn’t because The Paw Depot is HIGHLY OVERPRICED. I found the exact same bag of food online 25% cheaper with free shipping delivered to my doorstep.

Amazing! Bring my Bandit and Stella here all the time for their grooming! The best! They give bath, ears, teeth, nails, anal glands popped, excellent professional haircut for my schnauzer, just absolutely the best! The people there are so nice and the products there are great! Always get my Fromm doggie food and they have awesome treats and products. Love it!

The place is not really stocked to my standards and the grooming is so so might have to try a new place to see if there’s a difference. I have three dogs (small, medium and large breeds) and none of them came out to my expectations.

The haircut was very mediocre but the women was very nice. Will not be returning. The owner was not very friendly. He seemed annoyed that I was infringing on his computer time when I asked if the dog was ready. It’s a shame I’m new to the area and he lost a customer.

This shop is GREAT! As are its owners. they have quality products. they will also order quality products for you. i recommend them to eveyone!

The Paw Depot is truly a hidden gem. I love my dogs, they are my children so obviously I want only the best for them. The Paw Depot is a boutique, family owned pet supply store which carries only the best, high quality foods, toys, treats, and supplies.
After a few months of watching my Chihuahua licking his paws every night I wanted to know why. I read up on it and found out that often it’s a food allergy which causes dogs to produce yeast which is why they like their paws. I spoke to a friend about changing my dogs diet & she told me about Paw Depot. I went to the store and the two owners were both eager to help me sort out the food allergy. I bought a small bag of Zignature Lamb dog food which was limited ingredient. Most often dogs are allergic to potato, corn, and chicken, the three cheapest ingredients used in most large brand dog foods. Additionally, they gave me samples of other foods to try. I was beyond pleased with the customer service and selection of foods.
I have been buying food from them now for over 6 months.
Recently we got a new puppy and wanted to get her bones for her teething phase. The owners told us about how rawhide is actually terrible for dogs and pointed us in the direction of «bones» made from beef tendons and antler/​horn. Our Pitbull puppy LOVES the horns/​antlers.
Another great thing about Paw Depot is their delivery service! They will deliver your dog food, & supplies right to your doorstep!
Lastly, they offer grooming services for great prices! I have not had my dogs groomed there because they are both short haired & don’t require much grooming but I have had my dogs anal glands released there which was great because it is not something I would want to do myself.
The Paw Depot is an excellent store & I am more than happy to support such a great, local, small business. I recommend them to all my fellow furbaby owners!

OMGosh! My new favorite pet store! Matt and Adrian are super helpful! Zoe was so excited to try her new food and treats, and is loving them! I’m so glad I found you guys!

I saw a Living Social deal for The Paw Depot, so I read over their reviews. I was excited about what I had read, but went out of town and did not get the deal. Yesterday, I called and scheduled an appt with Matt on the phone for my dog to be groomed and did not mention the living social deal. I arrived at the store a little early because I wanted to look around, meet Rosa the groomer and get a feel for the place. Loved it all! Matt was friendly, walked my dog and I to the back to meet Rosa together and listened to everything thing I had to say about my dogs history. I casually mentioned that I had originally seen the living social deal and read all their reviews on Unilocal but that I had not gotten the deal. He gave it to me anyway!
I was so pleased when I returned 3 hours later to pick up my dog. He looked gorgeous and was happy! Matt gave me coupons for our next visit and also told me I can get pick up and delivery service for my dogs next visit. No charge. Ever. I also walked out of there with all kinds of goodies from my deal-​a harness (that Matt fitted for my pup), a bag of their best selling dogfood (with a lesson on what’s best for my dog to eat), a bag of doggie treats (again what’s best for him-he’s getting up in years) and a dog toy.
Thanks Matt! This is definitely our new «go to» neighborhood pet store. So long Pet Supermarket!

I think it’s important to take care of ourselves, but its just as important to take care of our pets as well by realizing we can’t just give them or feed them anything. I have a Puggle names Harry and for a while I was just giving him anything to eat and he eats dry dog food and he is just so fat and snorts and snores so much and is always so gassy and his feet smell like doritos. After speaking with the owner of The Paw Depot, Matt, I have since learned so much about proper care for your animals and really respect and admire this place. The owner, Matt, is seriously the nicest guy you will ever meet, and so are all the other employees. You can tell everyone is extremely passionate with what they do here at The Paw Depot. Matt and everyone here is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to better health and nutrition for your pets.
Matt informed me that when feeding your dogs dry dog food, you should always make sure that the first ingredient in their food is meat. Their food should never have any rice, corn, or potatoes — ingredients like that are really only beneficial for dogs that are in need of gaining weight. We got my dog Harry some dry dog food from this place and I am already seeing a different in Harry’s health, energy, and weight, and he isn’t snoring as much. Also, Matt informed me that the reason his paws smell like Doritos is because of the yeast in his old food and if we continue using the food we got for Harry at The Paw Depot then we will start to see a difference in the way his paws smell and he also won’t be as gassy anymore. I have already seen a huge difference.
Matt even told me that I should give Harry goat milk and that it will keep the good bacteria in his stomach and balance out his digestive system. Let me tell you… Harry absolutely loves Goat Milk now, I was soooooo surprised by this but I am so happy Matt gave me this advice.
Anyways, The Paw Depot is a great place to go when it comes to your pets. They always have so many fun events going on that I recommend everyone attend, they are such a caring and passionate business, they have outfits for your dogs, and they ONLY carry food that will only benefit your animal, and everything they get shipped into their store is made in the US. They are so passionate about animals and whats in your pets best interest and it just makes me so happy. After coming to The Paw Depot I would recommend people to NEVER go anywhere else other than this place because it is the real honest deal. The customer service is also soooooooooo much better than any other pet store. I am looking forward to one day seeing this place grow into a successful chain. They by far have my number one support.
Also I recommend anybody taking advantage of their grooming service. I normally would call a mobil grooming company to come to my apartment but I always get my dogs back with little cuts and knicks so I stopped getting my dogs groomed. Matt told me it’s because the room and space in vans are so limited to move around and that mobile groomers don’t take the time or use proper equipment to get your pet done properly.
But if you utilize the grooming service at The Paw Depot, they will come and pick your dog up for free, take it back to The Paw Depot to get your pet groomed and then bring them back safe, sound and squeaky clean, which is awesome. I call that great customer service, plus they do such a great job!
Even my friend was just in there and said how amazing The Paw Depot was and how nice, attentive, and informative everyone was. I really hope people reading this review gives The Paw Depot a try and gives them their support and attends all of their fun events. I am very passionate about animals and I literally love my dogs sooooooo much so yeah I would definitely say overall this is an amazing place and I hope people start taking better care of their pets, it first starts with what you feed your pet, so definitely go see Matt at The Paw Depot and get informed, because I am telling you that you will see such a positive difference in your pet by changing some of your ways.
