These guys did a great job. They were easy to book, and they were really wonderful to work with. They came all the way from New Jersey and worked with a family very reluctant to take pictures, with little direction and we wound up with a whole bunch of beautiful photographs. We definitely recommend them! Afterwards, we just got a link to view our pictures, and we got the untouched ones in a big zip. Great job!

Last summer, we started checking out the usual wedding sites and were overwhelmed by the tons of photographers. Alex was consistently in the top 5 of each photographer list we came across.
Once we started the process of researching photographers, Alex stood out from the rest for the reviews, the quality of his work, AND the pricing. In every step, Alex has been super easy to communicate with (even with us living states away,) flexible with scheduling, offering great ideas… and more ways to save more money.
It was his idea to have our engagement pictures taken in Central Park… the session was fun and a breeze. The photos came out great… and there were TONS of them!
I have no doubts that our wedding photos won’t be awesome!

Our wedding was Friday, November 9, 2012, in Lambertville, NJ.
From when I first contacted Alex ten months before the wedding about pricing and availability through the day of our wedding, Alex was there for me and quick with his responses. He was especially patient when I kept changing my mind on the date of our wedding initially (I contacted him before we booked our reception space — the original date was to be the 10^th, then we considered the 11^th before going with the 9^th). My now-​husband and I met with him in person for the first time roughly a month before the wedding to talk about our questions and concerns. Alex also suggested a timeline we might want to follow since we wanted to do first look and family photos all before the ceremony.
On the day of the wedding, Alex and his team showed up right on time. Since we hired them for photo and video, there were four guys — the two shooters (Alex and I think a guy named Aaron), an assistant (who manned the photo booth later that night), and the video guy. All of them were just wonderful. My grandma said she loved them because they were so graceful in their work, as well as discreet. We hardly knew they were there a lot of the time. I felt very comfortable with Alex and his assistants. Alex suggested a lot of different poses for me/​us, which turned into great photos.
One of my favorites is a picture of myself, my brother, and my cousins — a special request by me, for our grandmother. Alex took a formal, posed shot, then told us to get closer. We did, and the outcome was amazing. I love our pictures. There are so many gorgeous ones. I wish I could be more eloquent, but that’s really all there is to it. The quality speaks for itself. Alex posted some teaser photos the day after the wedding on his blog. When I went back to work the following Tuesday, I sent the link to my coworkers who were asking about pictures. I received so many compliments on them. One of my coworkers told me she was almost crying because the pictures were so beautiful and stunning. A couple people (including the same previously-​mentioned coworker) thought some of the photos looked like advertisements for a bridal magazine, that’s how well done they were.
The other thing that impressed me about Alex and his team was the affordability. No, he is not the cheapest wedding photographer out there, but he was very reasonable compared to a lot of photographers in the area. He was able to work with me on a package that fit our budget. We are lucky we snagged him when we did! I would 100% recommend Alex Kaplan and his team to any bride looking for a reasonably-​priced yet top quality photographer in the NJ/​NY area.
