We went to the Arid club for the first time while visiting friends in Boise and together we attended a fundraiser /foundations for leukemia and lymphoma on a Saturday evening. The foundation itself went well and we enjoyed contributing to a wonderful cause. As for the venue, it’s spacious and taken care of, bathrooms are clean, staff is nice, the back patio has a nice view, however one thing was completely unacceptable: the tortoise like pace of the Bartenders! You would think the arid club would be well prepared for an event like this and the quantity of people who will be purchasing beverages the entire evening. The bartenders were nice and courteous BUT extremely slow and almost nervous and anxious the entire evening. Maybe they were new but if that’s the case management shouldn’t be experimenting with newbies on such an important evening /occasion where people are going to be spending so much money — they need to have a good time and that means booze — at the snap of a finger not 20 minutes in line! The establishment couldn’t easily made 4 or 5 times more money in the bar than they did bc of the slow serving speed it just boggles my mind. Otherwise nice place.

Feeling down in the class struggle? Has the man been sticking it to you? Need to impress your date? Be sure to go to the Arid Club. I’ve jogged by here all the time on the greenbelt and saw how fancy it was, wondering what it was like to live on the other magical side of the fence. Up until 15 years ago, this was a men’s only club where I can only imagine such things as wealthy industrialists smoking cigars and sipping cognac discussing important topics such as how to avoid breathing the same air as the pesky 99%! Hard to believe such institutions still exist. I had a chance to breathe the rarefied air a couple of years ago at a friends’ wedding who through a crazy connection now has a cool wedding story.
