I wanted to update my review as I have come back several times since my last review. Things seem to be the same in regards to the food and service but they have recently painted and cleaned up their bathrooms. Most sushi restaurants in town close after lunch and reopen at dinner time. Yoi Tomo does the same on certain days. At other restaurants as long as you get in before the close time, they let you enjoy your meal and order more at your convenience. Even though they close their doors, they let you continue to order even though it is past their closing time. I came to Yoi Tomo on Monday at 1:29pm(closes at 2pm) and the waitress made it very clear they stop taking all you can eat sushi at 1:30pm and we just made it but last call for all you can eat will be 1:45pm. We quickly ordered but had not received our first round by 1:45pm so the waitress asked us to put in our last order before we received our first go round. It made it very difficult to know what to order at final call since we didn’t know how full we would be. To make a long story short, we put in another order before receiving our first plate and by the time our second order came around, we were pretty full and had to finish the sushi since they charge on top of your all you can eat price if you leave a certain amount of left overs. I have been here several times, always with great service. This was the only time we didn’t feel welcomed but please take this review with a grain of salt. I understand we probably did it to ourselves by going in at that time and I will not hold that against them because they usually have excellent customer service. This is a fun place to go but if you plan on doing AYCE, come earlier than we did and you should experience a good lunch.

RAMEN! RAMEN! RAMEN!!! I loved the ramen here! It’s the one and only ramen place here in Boise that is actually authentic and delicious! I’m also a very huge fan of their sushi. The sushi was very fresh and you could tell they put a lot of effort in the presentation and also the taste. I sat outside and I’m just in love with the flowers in the front, they make it seem so lively. I went there on a nice evening and the weather was just perfect. The ramen had to be my favorite entrée of them all! It was spicy which I loved because I’m in love with spicy food. If you like spicy food I recommend getting it because you won’t regret it!

Best bang for your buck, with their all you can eat for $ 25. It’s usually busy, so get there early to avoid a long wait.

The food here is mediocre. I really tired to understand what all the fuss is about. Ive been here a hand full of times and I just cant figure it out. Many of the rolls taste much the same as many of the others. I wish they would try adding a few ingredients. The rolls that I had during my rushed AYCE lunch were all just barley ok. They were all really bland, and were not made better with soy sauce, which was extra salty it seemed. I believe that we tried 5 – 6 different rolls during our last visit, and not a one of them made me want to go back. The«rule» here is that you can leave up to half a roll on your plate without being charged extra. Well there were three of us and 6 pieces total left over, and they tried telling us that we had to pay extra. If you are keeping count, that is two pieces each… And they added 10 bucks to our already $ 80 bill… nice try. Oh, and clean your carpets please, this place is discussing. Try IOU on Milwaukee, much better food and service. The attitude of the waitstaff also leaves much to be desired.

The all you can eat option is a great deal, and includes a huge assortment of rolls, nigiri, appetizers, etc! Taylor took care of us and was really great. I will return for sure!

I have only been here twice! Today we came because our favorite sushi place in Federal is closed which was so weird. Me & my husband are both nigiri kind of people, you know just the fish over the rice & here you have very limited choices with that. I hope they will add some more! With the sushi rolls on the other hand they have tons of choices! We pretty much ordered all the nigiri’s except for the octupos. With the sushi rolls, we ordered the Eagles eye & The Rock and they’re pretty awesome! I like that they’re appetizers are included on the AYCE though we didn’t get some because we just want the main dish haha. We don’t really come at downtown much because of parking space & we probably got our food down fast because we didn’t pay for parking, we ate less than an hour! With sushi, our motto«eat much & eat fast» lol. Great experience on both visits, I’ll definitely come again & try the other rolls! Also love our server, she’s so attentive, she kept on giving us ginger!

Delicious sushi! They have a ton of variety and are always adding new rolls. The all you can eat comes with appetizers and dessert. Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the facility isn’t the greatest. Signs inside are pieces of paper taped to doors and a white board on an easel. Bathrooms are unkept, floors and baseboards are dirty, paint is chipping off the walls. The sushi makes it worth putting up with though. Highly recommend the following rolls: Avenger, Inception, French Kiss, and Bronco roll.

All you can eat for such a low price?(I believe 24.95) YES, PLEASE. Amazing rolls? Indeed. Great service? Not particularly. But the rolls really do make up for it. My boyfriend and I go there about 2 times a month and we meet up with a group of friends and take the all you can eat, as a personal challenge. After wheeling each other out, we leave happy and full. But, the service. Has not impressed us. We have gone there when they are very busy and when there are only a few people and it hasn’t made a difference. I would rate it a 5 star if the service was better.

I read a lot of reviews that said the sushi was not very good. Since Yoi Tomo’s was the first sushi place I had ever been to, I decided to try other places. So every where I have traveled, I ask where the best sushi place it. I have yet to find one better than Yoi Tomo’s. New York, Texas, Oregon, Washington, California, or Boise. One place in Santa Clara CA was just as good. Paid three times the amount but it was good. I have always been pleased with the staff and the service they provide.

Great service, fast response, usually don’t have to wait long to order. We always get the AYCE here. I personally like ‘real’ Japanese style sushi with no sauces or decoration, plain nigiri. However, they give too much rice! It would have been ok if they only give half of the portion for every nigiri. However, the nigiri I had were good, fresh and nice cuts. My family enjoyed the sushi rolls. Next time I would like to try their ramen, if they have any on the menu. Haven’t really found any good ramen place here in the Treasure Valley. Mango ice cream always closes the dining experience nicely. See you soon

I love this place so much. The severs know me by name, and are always sweet and helpful. You can also tell the food is fresh, and the chefs know what they doing. They have a huge menu, and you can even make any regular roll onto a hand roll! I only wish they delivered, but other than that I am so impressed every time I go.

Yoi Tomo, if you’re an all-you-can-eat sushi lover, will be a great spot. If you prefer high quality sushi and a la carte orders, my advice is to opt for a different spot! While the service is great at Yoi Tomo, I can’t get over the quality of the food. It’s just pretty evident that this place caters to their all-you-can-eat crowd, which is not my bag at all, baby. Food: The all-you-can-eat rolls to choose from are great. I mean, gosh, if you’re going in to spend $ 25/person on limitless sushi, do it here! However, if you’re ordering off the menu a la carte, the quality is just NOTTHERE. I ordered the poke, and not only was the portion rather small, but it was pretty flavorless. In addition, we ordered a rainbow and spicy tuna roll, and the little rolls were SOSMALL. For a $ 14 rainbow roll, I’d expect a nice amount of fresh fish on a good-sized roll. No way, man. We got a tiny little roll. Not worth the money to do a la carte… and just not truly fresh or satisfying. What I really did like was their miso soup. But I advise, if you like high-quality fresh fish, to opt for a joint that doesn’t specialize in all-you-can-eat(like Sakana, which gets 2 thumbs up from us!). Drinks: n/a Atmosphere: PACKEDPACKEDPACKED for such a little spot. Very high energy! Service: Fast and super friendly. Sitting at the sushi bar is our favorite. Happy Hour Offerings: n/a Healthy Hack: Poke & miso! Tips: Don’t go if you’re not getting all-you-can-eat. Our favorite high quality local spot is Sakana in Boise or Meridian!

This is our designated go-to for all you can eat sushi! They have a lunch and dinner menu with a wide selection of nigiri, hand rolls, and delicious«regular» rolls, as well as other appetizers also available for AYCE. The rolls are also movie-name themed, which is pretty neat. Dante’s Inferno is one of our favorites to order! The seafood always tastes fresh, and the dinner AYCE comes with ice cream: red bean, green tea, mango or strawberry. I would definitely make reservations if you’re planning on coming in on a Friday or Saturday night as they are usually very busy those nights. Service has been consistently good here, with attentive and friendly staff. Parking can sometimes be a pain, as it’s a downtown location, but who doesn’t like an evening constitutional?

So I wanted to update my review for this place because I think they deserve another star. I do stand by my critique that far too many of their rolls incorporate the same ingredients or are far too similar. But… that having been said, the quality of the sushi is the highest I have experienced at an «all you can eat» sushi restaurant. The rice is well seasoned. The fish is fresh and well portioned. While you still need to add the caveat that it ISAYCE, it is very good AYCE. Not only that, but more than just sushi is covered by the AYCE price. You can also get a variety of soups, salads, and other appetizers without an additional cost. So overall, Yoi-Tomo is offering a much better value than comparable AYCE restaurants. Because of those two points, this is now my «go to» place for a quick sushi lunch. Their dinner price is a bit high for me… and the downtown location isn’t the most convenient, but it is better than I gave it credit for the first time around.

We had a great experience at Yoi Tomo. Our server was helpful, but not too pushy. She seemed to know exactly when we were ready to order more or if we needed our drinks refilled. The sushi was very good, and it arrived quickly after we had ordered. Everything tasted delicious! It was way better than we had expected from an All You Can Eat restaurant. We will definitely be going back!

Went for dinner there. $ 25AYCE and its the best in Boise period. Fresh fish and rolls are incredible. The chef is excellent and does amazing mix with sauces if you sit at the bar. Appetizers were really great and combination with sauces really added taste. I love sushi and I’m used to Cali sushi places but this was just as good and even better for some specialty rolls. Excellent choice can’t go wrong.

Our server was not the greatest in regards to serving. Our drinks were refilled by another server and our plates were also cleared, after sitting quite a while, by another server. The sushi was delicious but was a little light on protein. However, the sushi chef was the most helpful though out our meal as most of our orders were taken by them. Will be back back not because our server was exceptional. Good prices and tasty rolls.

This was our 15-year old son’s first sushi bar outing and he is now an enthusiast! We opted for the all-you-can-eat sushi bar. The menu is extensive and includes appetizers and dessert. Understandably, sashimi is the only thing that is excluded from the AYCE menu. In addition to the basic California Roll, the 3 of us had specialty rolls named Anger Management, French Kiss, The Rock, 007, Full Monty, Zato-Ichi, Incredible Hulk, and G. I. Joe. We sipped hot, loose green tea with toasted brown rice and finished up with ice cream: mango for me and strawberry for the guys. The sushi was fresh, delicious, and presented well. The 2 young ladies who took our orders were attentive, friendly, and there were no noticeable lulls between taking new sushi orders. The Anger Management and French Kiss specialties were our favorites!

I love the movie themed menu. We had an «Oceans Eleven Roll» which was excellent. Sitting at the bar and watching the guys make sushi was a lot of fun too. My wife tried the Orion(think Bud Light), and I had a Koshihikari(rice beer) and both were very good, light crisp beers. It’s just across the street from a(the theater, so we went in 45 minutes before our show started and got out with plenty of time to spare. We will come back soon, with friends.

Came in for the ramen noodle. The waitress told me they made the noodle here but actually they are instant noodle. Disappointing. Wish we have a good noodle place here in boise.
