Came to eat here, love the sushi, the atmosphere. No complaints. Definitely will be returning.

I personally wasn’t impressed by this place. We came around 7 (happy hour) and there was a good amount of people but not a lot. It took them about 5 mins to seat us and another 15 mins just to come take our drink order. By the time they came we were already ready to order our food. Overall the service was pretty slow. We asked for spicy mayo and that took about 15 mins as well. Our server was really sweet and laughed along to our jokes.
The food: it was pretty good to me but the size of the rolls were on the smaller size. I’m from Monterey Park so I am super picky about Asian foods. Would come here again if I had nowhere else to go. We also had desert, it was the bonfire, and that was okay… nothing special.

Very quiet. Very nice. Wonderful Date Night spot. Clean. Staff… Awesome. Highly recommend. Sushi and islander foods.

So this a nice chill place to grab some of your favorite sushi or Japanese themed foods. The food was great I would recommend the chicken teriyaki plate. Price was average but well worth It.

My lady and I went for breakfast after seeing the corned beef on fb. I liked the atmosphere, and the fact they had tv’s. (A must for breakfast) the food was awsome. And almost exactly like the picture. And the coffee was great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was, the service was slow and there weren’t many people there. After our order was taken it about 10 – 15 min before food was ready and he never came back to check on us for coffee until the food was almost served. And like I said there were only about 3 tables served. However, I would recommend you try this place. The corned beef was on point and my lady substituted kim chi rice for garlic and was delighted.

A little pricey but still good. I tried the spring rolls, Ahi poke, grilled basa, and donuts. Spring rolls were really good, poke was eh, my grilled basa was actually fried but I still liked it though it was not very warm when it got to the table. Would not order the donuts again but they were cheap so no big loss. Overall, decent service, the waiters were kind of awkward but they were attentive which is nice. The restaurant had nice décor.

Totally impressed by this place. For starters, the service is very welcoming. Our waitress took really good care of us; very fast and constantly checking in on us and she was super friendly. The ambiance of the place seemed very presentable. Clean and well kept and it really had that Japanese Hawaiian twist that it claims to have, in my opinion.
The food was delicious. A part of me was a little reluctant because it’s a café so I thought it would be pre-​made foods, but everything we ordered was very fresh! One thing that made us happy was their specials. We came during happy hour so that’s what we ordered from. Regular menu is a bit pricy but with the quality of food we got from happy hour, I’m sure their prices for regular menu items is worth it. We ordered many food selections including the bulgogi burrito, bulgogi fries, bulgogi hand roll, tempura spam musubi, mahalo madness roll, sandy’s beach roll, jalapeño hamachi, and the Kaila pork sliders. We also ordered a couple of Sapporos and hot sake. Overall, the food was worth every cent.
The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because we were not able to try their regular menu food choices. The happy hour choices are good, but not out of this world. One thing I also noticed throughout their menu though is that they have a thing for spicy items. So if you love spicy in your sushi, this is place will hit the spot! I would say about ²⁄₃ of their menu had little chili symbols next to them indicating that they were spicy food choices. But their spicy may not always mean it’s spicy to everyone. Worth the try though. But with service and everything else, my real rating would be 4.5 stars.
However, I would totally recommend it to friends and family in the area. I would love to come back the next time I visit San Diego!

Have gone back several times and I’m in love with ceviche tostadas from happy hour menu and lunch rice bowl with Panko fried chicken, kimchee and veggies with fried egg on top it is really really good! As well as all their sushi.

Their bulgogi fries was alright, there was this taste that I couldn’t explain. It was kind of sour? The kalua pork ramen was really good though! I recommend it. I also really liked their california rolls!

I use to really like this place– Not anymore… This place use to have real crab not anymore. I left and refused to order. This place has went down hill. I will not return. This place is not as clean as it use to be.

Came by here a few days ago for the first time and it’s pretty neat spot. I don’t normally dine around the area, so I’m glad a friend suggested it. Made it in time for their Happy Hour, so got some half priced beer alongside some appetizers like the egg rolls (good), a bulgogi wrap (tasty), and some dip/​chips (pretty flavorful). Also got some rolls which were very well made and tasted really good. Ended up with too much food so it was worth the price for everything. There’s a good amount of space in the restaurant, as well as a nice outdoor patio seating. Would love to invite people to it, and perhaps have a dinner party in the near future. Also, excellent staff!

Spicy Edamame, Zen Roll, Jalapeño Hamachi! This makes a perfect meal at Onos! Every time I get great service and after a number of visits my order is already in as I sit down. I regularly come and recommend it if your looking for a good sushi place in the area! Super good!

Love this place!!! Spicy edamame, chicken teriyaki pasta, jalapeño lava roll and top it off with ZENGA for desert… The meal that’ll top any other! Try it to believe

Ono’s Restaurant and Café in Bonita, reminds me when I was in Honolulu, Hawaii. Their menu is a mixed of Hawaiian, Korean, and Japanese cuisine. The food is great for reasonable price. The place is a warm cozy place and very quiet since it’s kind a sits far away from the street.
That’s why it may be hard to find unless you’ve been there before. We had to drive around the huge parking lot to finally see the place. The price is very affordable and you also order to go.
And yes, I was given 50% off for dessert fir checking in.

Nice atmosphere, but noticed it was quite slow for a Friday. But as we sipped our wine we started to notice how HOT it was in there… asked the server about it and he told us their ac was stolen? Really killed the vibe. After a few drinks it was WAY too warm. Fly’s were too frequent, had to send back a drink because one died in it.
Food was good, the Bonita roll was very yummy. I got the seafood dynamite. Not the best, quite a dry dish. Pretty disappointing because the ingredients sounded promising. Mom got the panko salmon, the breading was yummy and the side of coleslaw was quite good, but the fish itself was flavorless. Crème brullee was delicious, but it was served bare, no strawberries. Poor presentation.
Overall, just OK.

I live near here and finding quality Asian fusion around my neighborhood is difficult. I’ve had problems with this establishment before, mainly customer service related but this isn’t necessarily one of them.
I ordered Macademia salmon, panko salmon, and basa grill all to go. Unfortunately the biggest let down was the macademia salmon. Keep in mind the Macademia salmon cost the most out of all 3 dishes.
Aside from the small serving size at $ 17, the salmon was on the dry side and he so called «banana sauce» was spicy. I called the restaurant and whomever took the call said there’s a tad bit of spice. I have a seasoned palate and I’ve eaten wasabi, tons of mexican food and this banana sauce tasted more like sirracha with a hint of banana sauce. The only compensation the lady on the phone could offer was to not order the banana sauce with the macademia salmon again.
I’ve had this dish before and it never had as much heat as it did. Also it’s a consistency issue because as I ate more of it there were pockets without as much spice. A customer shouldn’t have to guess if the dish is spicy or not because the menu lacks the ability to properly inform the consumer.

Yin Yang — something about it tasted fishy — no sh*t … it has fish, but it didn’t taste fresh to me.
Service was a bit slow when we came here around 8pm on a Friday night.

Estábamos buscando un sushi cerca por bonita y encontramos este lugarcito, cuando entramos se me hizo bonito el comedor (aunque sólo es como un pasillo). Comenzamos pidiendo coconut shrimp … sin las salsitas hubieran estado X… pero gracias a ellas estuvieron buenos (fue lo que mas me gusto de allí) y el café hazelnut estaba bueno tambien, pedimos 2 rollos tambien :(crème de la crėme y jalapeño lava roll (elegi mal o… mas bien creo algo estaba mal) todos los ingredientes tenían buen sabor a excepción de la alga, era un chicle! Estaba súper dura por mas que la mastique no la lograba deshacer, hasta que me di por vencida y dije no mas! Jaja ya me canse de tanto masticar, :) no se si regresare a este lugar otra vez, aun tengo mal sabor de boca, al llegar al restaurante todo iba tan bien y salí tan desilusionada.

I stopped in Ono’s on a early Friday evening on the onset of happy hour to unwind and grab a few eats before heading home. I ordered a pint of Kirin draft beer for only $ 3, but the beer was a little flat. The temp was nice and cold but it was time to switch the barrel.
For eats, I had the salmon skin roll at happy hour price of $ 3.50 and Jalapeño Hamachi of the regular menu for $ 8. The salmon skin roll was good. It was nicely presented, a little sticky, but it came with a good amount of toasted salmon skin which tasted very good. The avocado was very good and the carrot crunchy. Overall, it was a good tasty roll.
The Jalapeño Hamachi was good as well and came with a very good. The ponzu sauce was light and flavorful, the lemon wedges were thinly sliced, including the jalapeño slices, and they both provided just enough flavor, to make the Hamachi or yellow tail brim with a vibrant flavor. The jalapeño was not spicy, but just tasty.
The eats were good, but I just wish the beer were crisper, not flat, so I am settling for three and a half stars.

We came here not too long ago and it was amazing! I did not expect it to be that good. The ambience is very appealing. The interior is cute and decorated, more of a Hawaiian theme. It’s not too noisy and not too quiet which I enjoyed.
We made the right choice of ordering the calamari and Kalbi Ribs. The calamari was very crunchy! My personal favorite was the Kalbi Ribs which came with rice and salad on the side. The ribs were chewy but easy to eat. It was just so delicious. Prices are decent, a little more to the expensive side. But that’s okay, you pay for the quality of the food.
Service was great. The servers were friendly and catered to our needs. I would definitely recommend this place.

Asian and island fusion cuisine with a twist. Décor and music goes well with the theme in a tasteful manner and the food is delicious. I usually get the calamari, teriyaki beef sliders (served on sweet Hawaiian bread & with a side of sweet potato fries-​fave), various rolls and malasadas. Happy hour is daily from 4−7pm & brunch hours are Saturday and Sunday from 9−12pm.
Wait might be a bit because they don’t have many servers but all the employees I’ve encountered are friendly, patient and helpful.

Service is still a bit slow here. but has improved from my last visit. The place is really small so the waiting area flows into the dinning area. Awkward.
Food was spot on though. What we had:
*spam musubi (cook even threw in a sample of the upgraded musubi– it was so good.)
*stuffed mushrooms
*bulgogi fries
*pulled pork sliders
*Philidelphia roll (love that they use smoked salmon)
*teriyaki beef plate
