Description

Specialties

Meaningful, Bible-based worship experiences that are life-giving and innovative. We believe that the message of the Church is good news based on the person and works of Jesus Christ. We believe Scripture is the infallible, inspired Word of God. We are passionate about offering hope that is firm and secure to all people. We love the arts and feel they are intended to be offered to God with excellence and creativity. We love the people of Boston and see the church as a community of people trying to figure life out one day at a time — one teaching of Christ at a time.

In a practical way, we offer good parking, excellent MBTA connections (Orange and Green lines, Bus) and gatherings in a historic South End landmark.

History

Established in 2013.

Anchor Church opened on February 28, 2013 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, 39 Dalton St, in Boston. We continued to meet on Sundays at 5PM, rotating between the Sheraton and the Hilton Back Bay, through August 25, 2013. On September 1, 2013 we moved to our new location at 600 Columbus Ave in Boston’s South End. Anchor is pleased to be leasing space from Columbus Ave A.M.E. Zion Church.

The mission of Anchor Church is to serve the music/arts district of Boston and the residents of the South End, Back Bay, and Fens communities. We are adjacent to Northeastern University and close to Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory, the Boston Conservatory, Emmanuel College, Mass Art, Whitlock College, and Symphony Hall. We periodically have outdoor concerts/events at Titus Sparrow Park, 200 W Newton, in Boston.
