Dr. Ansari was recommended to me and I had a terrible experience. Pay careful attention to your billing. I was asked to pay $ 1,000.00 that was to be written off due to insurance contractual rates and was asked to pay over $ 2,000.00 for an oral surgery that was covered by my insurance and prior authorized! This is unethical! My crowns are uneven, uncomfortable, and look awful! Dr. Ansari wanted to me accept a chipped crown and replaced it unwillingly I might add. She forced an ill fitted crown into place. Dr. Ansari does not care about how you look when you leave her office. She only cares about collecting your money! :(Very dissappointed! I have had three consults and all agree this is sub par. The crowns do not fit properly and now I am responsible for fixing her mess! DO NOT TRUST DR. ANSARI!

Pro: Dr Ansari was able to see me ASAP for an emergent situation as a new patient. For that I am grateful.
I first encountered Dr Ansari after a prolonged interval of not seeing a dentist secondary to a very bad/​damaging encounter with another dentist in another city. She was able to see me right away and put me in contact with a terrific clinician (Meredith August, MGH) who was also able to assist me promptly.
However, after that initial very helpful encounter things were not so great. I admittedly had a lot of work done and needed a lot of work done. Unfortunately, it turns out that the work was shoddily performed and I am in the process — the very expensive process — of having this work redone. I had raised concern with her about a number of teeth she had worked on having ‘overhangs’ that would catch/​cut floss etc… she brushed off my concerns and assured me that everything looked fine. I wish I had trusted my misgivings earlier (perhaps the fact that she could always fit me in right away should have been a red flag…) as second and third opinions have confirmed that this was sub-​par work.
As others have mentioned, she can be really snippy with at least one of her assistants — this, too, likely should have been a red flag.
I do appreciate her assisting me for an emergent need… but I wish I had looked elsewhere for longer-​term needs. I’m now, quite literally, paying for it.
Additionally, I have had difficulty in getting my medical records sent to an alternative dentist (despite multiple attempts over the past year I have not yet been successful).

Dr. Anjam Ansari is actually a nightmare of a dentist, and I would discourage anyone from going to her. After moving to Boston following college for a job at MGH, I needed a new dentist so I went to her out of convenience. She told me I had 8 cavities and would need a fine cleaning in addition to the regular cleaning. Just to put this into perspective, I floss twice a day, brush twice a day, and use mouthwash. I wouldn’t be surprised if I had a one or two cavities, but 8 really seemed ridiculous. I went and got a second opinion, and the dentist told me I had two at the maximum. In addition to her questionable medical opinion, she charged me over $ 280 more than she was supposed to, and my insurance company told me that she owed me a reimbursement because she charged me the part she was supposed to pay for being «in-​network» with them. Only go to Dr. Ansari if you want unnecessary procedures that cost you thrice as much as they should be.

I switched over to Dr. Ansari because the location of her office was very conveinent for me. My first visit went well. The office is very clean, everyone is nice and friendly. My initial consultation seemed ok, she asked a lot of questions and took x-​rays. The cleaning was speedy and not well done. My teeth didn’t feel clean after the hygenist was finished, and the whole thing took her maybe 15 minutes. Also, Dr. Ansari was suggesting I needed a $ 600 treatment to fix a minor problem, and when I refused she continued to call my cell phone for 2 days telling me I needed to schedule an appointment for this issue that was not urgent. I didn’t like feeling pressured to spend a huge amount of money on something that I didn’t think I needed, especially after I clearly refused. While the people are nice at Dr. Ansari’s office, the service is not the best I’ve experienced. I will be switching back to my old dentist.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Ansari’s office for almost three years. The office was recommended to me by a former coworker.
So, everybody hates to go to the dentist, right? If more offices were like Dr. Ansari’s, people may change their minds.
The front desk staff is friendly and cordial — while the setting is professional, the warmth of the staff makes you feel like you’re visiting friends. And this is very important when you know that in just a few minutes, someone’s going to be sticking their hands and many metal instruments into your mouth.
Timing-​wise, I’ve never had to wait longer than a few minutes for my appointment, and only once has an appointment needed to be rescheduled. Very reliable.
Anna, the hygienist, is super efficient and gentle. I have absolutely no complaints with her work. She is also very sweet and a joy to talk to (even when your mouth is hanging half open!)
Dr. Ansari herself is not only very professional, but kind of hilarious, too. It’s much easier to have instruments all up in there when you’re laughing. She is very good with her timing — often waiting until you are fully numb before proceeding. She also will combine procedures to save you extra visits. Her assistants are always at the ready and are able to keep up with her speed.
All in all, the office is run tightly, business wise; but that doesn’t stop the staff from being personal and friendly. It’s the best of both worlds — you don’t necessarily want to stay longer than you have to, but at least you’re having a good time while you’re there.

I recommended Dr. Ansari to a very close relative who had not been to the dentist in over 12 years. She was terrified before her 1^st visit. All I can say is that Dr. Ansari completely made this person feel completely comfortable and at ease. My relative had tears in her eyes when thanking me for recommending such a wonderful and caring dentis. She was also taken aback with Dr. Ansari’s knowledge and expertise and her ability to explain the treatment she needed in a simple way that she could understand. Her words were «I have finally found a dentist that can really help me»
