Established in 2014.

The Baroo team is made up of Lindsay Hyde, Meghan Trombly, and Alana Meserve, Certified Professional Dog Trainer.

The team came together recognizing the common challenges of urban pet owners. Each of them were looking for a one-​stop care solution for their pets. Living in the city, away from home long hours, and frequently traveling, they were looking for a pet care partner that could provide exercise, socialization, basic training, mid-​day potty breaks, and routine grooming.

Realizing that many urban pet parents were looking for the same thing, they founded Baroo to make caring for the city-​dwelling pet simple and convenient.

Lindsay is passionate about providing pets with the best care possible.

Lindsay Hyde is an experienced entrepreneur who previously founded and grew an international mentoring program, Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG). Under Lindsay’s leadership, the organization grew to 5 locations and served over 10,000 girls globally. In addition to her role at Strong Women, Strong Girls, Lindsay has also previously worked with BlackRock and The Downtown Project, an initiative of Zappos founder Tony Hsieh.

She serves on the President’s Council of the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

As u can read from the attached comments Baroo is a top notch Company.
I just wanted to post my positive experiences with them as well.
My husband and I r new to the Boston area.
Having lived by family before moving here we were fortunate enough to always have a family member to watch our two doggie babies. We worried so much about who would take care of our dogs when we traveled.
Thankfully we met Lindsay when we first moved in. We had a first meet & greet w Kelsey and a second Nhu. They listened, took notes & asked questions pertinent to the individual care of each dog. One of our dogs is up in age and suffers from arthritis. It is so reassuring to get texts and/​or emails from them when they are arriving to take care of our dogs. We love getting the photos too letting us know how well our guys r doing. Making & scheduling visits is always easy and very well organized .
I truly believe that the Baroo team love what they do and it shows in the attention they give to both Ditto & Darla.
This is really just a thank u for helping to relieve any and all anxiety we had about who would take care of our dogs and treat them as well as we do —
We have found it in Baroo !

I can’t say enough good things about Baroo; it’s CEO, and it’s employees. My dog Stewie is my best pal and companion. As a freelancer, I normally can take him with me to work. When I got to Boston, I learned that my new office would not allow my buddy to come to the office. Where it not for Baroo I have no idea what I would have done.
Stewie had two walks a day and tons of personal attention from the committed staff. They didn’t just let him out for walks; they got to know him and what his specific needs were. Stewie is a pretty laid back guy, but he HATES water. So on rainy days the team quickly learned that after Stewie did his business, the rest of the half-​hour walk would be dedicated to indoor play.
If you use Baroo, I encourage you to attend their weekly Doggie Yappy Hours. It’s a great way to meet the walkers and the other pets in the service.
Baroo isn’t just «in the pet care business», they love our pets as much as we do.
They get it.

I can’t say enough positive things about Baroo. I relocated to Boston with my 2 «elderly» cats last May and immediately started traveling 5 – 7 days/​week for work. I was worried that the cats would be traumatized from the car trip north from Georgia, a new apartment, and me being gone so much. I was fortunate to have found Baroo offering service in my building. They have proven to be prompt, reliable, and extremely responsive to any requests. I used them weekly through September when my work travel subsided. Having used other pet sitters previously, I noticed a big difference in that my cats didn’t seem as «needy» as they used to be. In addition, they did not appear to be traumatized at all from all of the commotion of my move. I could tell they were well cared for and got lots of play time while I was away. While I certainly like being home as opposed to being on the road, it’s good to know that I have Baroo for those times when I will travel in the future.

When we moved to Boston this year, our #1 concern was finding a reliable, friendly, flexible and affordable doggy daycare for our dog. It didn’t take long to learn that day cares in Boston are nearly twice as much as Atlanta, plus, our dog is now 6 years old and prefers to stay at home. Thankfully we found Baroo! We love them, their staff, and most importantly… so does our dog. When she sees them walking other dogs in our building, she gets extremely excited and always wants to say «hello». Also, since we travel a lot for work, they’re extremely accommodating and wonderful communicators. Baroo is simply the best!

My boyfriend & I have been using Baroo since we moved into the Ink Block building in the south end. We cannot say enough great things about them, and always suggest them to new neighbors we meet. Lindsay and her crew not only provide quality services, but are always on top of customer service and communication. They are super responsive and proactive.
We typically work with Kelsey in particular (BEST WALKER EVER!!), we walks our two pups regularly throughout the week. She is super friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy her time with the pups, even going above and beyond in patience with our older dog (who gets nervous), when she first worked with them. I not only feel comfortable, but excited that our pups are receiving such great care and love when we are at work! I also must give a nod to Noah, who also is a great member of the team and always super friendly and helpful.

Baroo is many steps above your average dog walking service. I’ve only used them for walking. Meghan walked my dog, Hunter. He is old, has pain and can be very unfriendly towards people coming into the apartment. She was INCREDIBLY patient with him and willing to work with him when no one else would. She has an expert approach at safely and effectively managing challenging dogs with special needs. These people are professional pet caretakers. They are not college students looking to make a quick buck and that’s a huge benefit. The cost is a bit more than your «average» dog walker, but well worth it.
