Great little store with a great selection! I live across the street and go in frequently. Reasonably priced and the staff is always always friendly and willing to give a wine suggestion. I will miss this store when I move!

What can I say about this place? I send one quick message out to a friend who just happens to be the owner of the place and BOOM I’m driving there to pick up my holiday bottle of single malt Scotch at a fantastic price. It was seamless, quick and just what the doctor ordered. Only difficulty can be parking on Charles Street but again I ran in and ran out without issue because the staff was prepared. Double parked for about 47 seconds. Shh don’t tell anyone…
Great selection with a pleasant efficient staff. Next time I’ll find legit parking and peruse the libations not in a break neck speed.

I have been going here almost every weekend.
I only have good things to say about this place: Friendly service, local feel, great location, and a good amount of liquor/​wine choices. The only con is that it’s a bit pricey. but that’s to be expected when near Beacon hill

I happened upon Beacon Hill Wine & Spirits during a recent stay nearby. What a charming little shop. I picked up a six pack of Green Monsta IPA (overall, a nice selection of quality beers). The dude at the register was very friendly.

Great location and selection. Extremely pleasant staff. Loved the cat named Bordeaux… so cute! I would return here and really enjoy the atmosphere of the place!

I work right across the street and decided to check this place out one day after passing by the store on so many occasions. Its very easy to spot if you’re in the area given that it is located on the corner or Charles and Mt. Vernon.
I was surprised that the store is pretty small as I walked in and obviously they do specialize more in wine over, say, vodka and beer. Hence, «Wine & Spirits.» But they also sell a lot of, from what I could see, nips if wine isn’t of interest to you.
The store has a large to pretty good selection of wine, from floor to ceiling, it felt jam-​packed with choices. (Overwhelming?) I can’t really speak about the variety but hearing from other Unilocal reviewers, it seems like they have some interesting or unique items that would warrant checking the store out.
Other things to add: prices are decent to average and the people working there are very friendly and helpful.

I’ve been frequenting this place for years now. Sure, it’s small, but they have a great selection and constantly switch up their wines, which allows trying/​testing of new wines and that’s fun– right?! The guys that work their are friendly and are always willing to help. They love my dog; he actually drags me there to get a bone (they make him sit before it’s given to him). The location is ideal, as the only other quality liquor store is down near Cambridge St… hey that’s far in Beacon Hill standards.
Make sure to check them out, and get their opinion on wines to try. They know their stuff.

I’ve been to this place a few times and it seemed pretty standard. Sometimes, they have funny decorations in the windows. Pretty standard bottles in the store, a small variety of harder liquors, etc. I’ve actually only bought wine from here.
This past Sunday I was treated very rudely by whomever was working late. It looks like this might be the same guy that another poster had complained about. Anyway, he was an ass and that’s really all it takes for me to avoid and feel shitty about a place. I would suggest that you go somewhere where there’s no chance of you feeling bitter for the rest of the evening. I’ll be going to Wine Bottega (when I can hoof it) or Charles St. Liquors (when I can’t).

Love this place. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable they alway make great wine recommendations.

Beacon Hill Wine & Spirits is a great little neighborhood liquor store. They really jam pack this place with as many bottles of wine and spirits as they can, and in the best way possible.
But what really sets this place apart is the staff and service. The people that work here are super helpful and accommodating.
Beer options are pretty standard… I’d go somewhere else if you’re looking for special or imported beers. But when it comes to wine, Beacon Hill Wine & Spirits is a great place to go if you’re in the area and in need of some quality booze!

Yup. After all of the nonsense in the past, I still am patronizing this place. I love the owner and he’s getting ready to start selling cheese. Booze? Cheese? SAME STORE!!!

I adore this place. Partially because it’s around the corner from me but also because they have a decent selection of wines/​spirits and a friendly staff which is always very willing to help me choose something even when all I tell them is, «Well, I just ordered chinese food… like greasy chinese food with broccoli.» I like that I can be that down to earth with them and they don’t judge me.
Oh, and several times I’ve walked in they’ve been doing wine tastings. They should advertise this more though.

I walk by this store many times a day and finally decided to stop in. I was expecting a standard selection of everyday wines but was impressed that they stocked many varietals. They really do specialize in stocking hard to find wines. They also had a somewhat diverse selection of beers. Everything was priced well and the employee was friendly and helpful. I now know where I’ll be going to buy my wine every week…

Charming little shop in Beacon Hill specializing in hard to find wines, champagnes and «spirits»! Staff was very knowledgable and helpful. The great thing about this place is that they have a decent selection of wines in store and if they don’t have it, they’ll find it for you. They also deliver as far away as Quincy and Gloucester with no minimum order! Prices are very reasonable for Beacon Hill.
They also recently opened up and offshoot of this store in Melrose, which is much larger and has a great variety of gourmet foods and cheeses in addition to a large wine selection.

This is our neighborhood liquor store. We could go to Chinatown, but they don’t have nearly the wine selection of Beacon Hill W&S. I’ve been joining my friend on his trips there (very often) and already the staff knows me and are quite friendly. They don’t have a huge selection of hard liquor and won’t meet your needs if it’s that of a poor college student (40’s of Old English) but for wine and popular booze, it’s your place!

Best liquor and wine store I’ve seen in Boston. The employees were extremely helpful and offered to order a beer for me that I struggle to find.

This is a nice, small local shop if you’re looking for your liquor store to be more wine-​focused. They have a decent selection of wine, and nice service.
If you’re looking for beer, they have some general options, but are a bit lacking, with just a few single options. The size of this place does lead to some definite difficulties in having a larger selection, and they do the wine part well, so it’s still a decent, more low-​key and out of the way option if you don’t feel like going to Charles St. Liquors or DeLuca’s.

So, I’m a pretty bad reference for shops that sell alcohol. I don’t buy it that often. So, I can’t say if it’s overpriced or average or what. I can’t say too much about the selection. It’s a little sparse, but they had what appeared to me to be a nice range. They have a few beers, not a huge selection, but the stuff you’d like to buy, not the stuff you would probably end up buying because it’s cheap. But they don’t have those hot, cutting edge new beers either. You know, nothing that was aged in JD barrels and then finished off with the Champagne method. Just your basic decent beers. They seem to focus on wine, but I didn’t look over all that. I don’t want to take the time to learn all about wine, I’d rather just call someone who did take the time to learn all that and buy off their recommendation. You’ll find something to drink there.
So, I’d probably give it three stars, but here’s why I went with four:
It’s in the neighborhood.
It’s a small, local shop.
Nice staff.
Dog-​friendly.
