Horrible experience for me after ordering a made-​to-​fit suit eight weeks ago and still have not received it. I called in late September to get an update, and they said that the local person was away on a family emergency and wouldn’t be back until October. They asked if I wanted to enter the store, which would be opened by the tenant next door, and search for my suit myself and take it. Really? In October after not receiving a call, I called again, and this time they said that they did not know when the local person would return to the store. What a way to run a business. They said that they would mail my suit to me — I guess it’s on me to get it pressed and tailored if it does not fit. Now it’s been a week and I still do not have my suit. I would never do business with them again.

I wish to thank you .I don’t have a gift idea for birthday’s husband, then a friend told me about bookataillor. I made my order 1 suit for $ 449 with kind and respectful customer service, and 4 weeks later I received a beautiful costume for my husband with his exact size and it suits him perfectly!

Pretty bad.
Bought three shirts and a suit. The shirts are nice. The suit is a mess.
The jacket doesn’t fit right (way too tight), but the person I worked with tried to convince me it looked great. It’s clear they really don’t to deal with returns.
Recommend you stay away.

This was a wonderful experience for me, never been in a place where you get custom made suits and shirts. People here were extremely friendly and quick, they helped me on picking out the cuffs, collar and style for 2 shirts and a suit (This is only $ 499 directly from Groupon). Since this is all custom made the product took 3 weeks to come but its totally worth the wait. I will be here again without a doubt. Really good experience overall.

I had a great and wonderful service from this company. this company had helped me get a custom order put together. I even got help with picking out the cuffs. So i got this deal on living social and decided for the price you couldnt go wrong and I wasnt disappointed. They help you style and custom 2 shirts for $ 99, 1 suit $ 449, 1 suit 2 shirts for $ 499. This is a business where they make custom suits and shirts for guys only! I got my products in 2.5 weeks but can sometimes take 3 – 4 weeks. I was very impressed and my boyfriend loved the style that was choosen for him. I will be glad to order again from this place. I was very impressed with the quality of product and the detail to a certain look.

I was definitely skeptical of this place after reading all the reviews — they’re so up and down, and that’s always nerve wracking. But I figured it was worth a shot, 2 shirts for 99 bucks is not bad, even for a department store. So custom shirts were at least going to be interesting.
The web booking was easy and I got an appointment within a week. It’s true the room was a little small, but it’s Boston — you know how expensive rent is in Boston? Ever been shoulder-​to-​shoulder with a family on one side and a couple on the other in a North End restaurant? It’s still fantastic food, right?
Juliet was great and very helpful. I’m a little on the fat side but with broad shoulders so the shirt is a weird shape, and I’m suprised they actually got it perfect the first time. I did the measurements and picked out fabric, and it only took about 30 minutes all told. Got the shirts a few weeks later and they were great, so I’m not sure about the trouble others seem to be having.
Anyway, just ordered a couple more and I’m looking forward to adding them to the old wardrobe. Thanks Juliet!

I’ve had a really positive experience with BookATailor. I purchased their limited groupon 2 shirts deal for $ 79 and a one suit deal for $ 449 as a birthday present for my friend. The best part was that the suit was customized and my friend was happy with his measurements as they came out to be quite accurate. It took about 4 weeks for everything to be ready.
If you’re looking for men’s shirts and custom suits, this is a pretty good place to go to!

Bad service is the only thing that comes to mind. I scheduled an appointment, went there, waited 40′ for the lady to take measurements for 10′. 3 months later, after having called to see if my shirts were ready, the lady told me they were ready since a month and that they had send me an email. I went back to check and didn’t find any email from them *sigh*. Scheduled an appointment to pickup my shirts, went there and waited 1h (!!) because there «was an appoitment that rolled over a bit (yeah, ‘a little bit’). Shirts didn’t fit as tailored shirts should. Everything was just bad from the start.
Its cheap, yes, but you get what you pay for: cheap shirts from thailand and very poor service.
Don’t waste your money — better have 1 or 2 nice tailored shirts than 4 macy’s quality shirts with crapy service.

I have been withholding making any comments since September because I wanted to wait until the full process had been concluded. Unfortunately, the longer I wait for that day to finally come and the more promotional emails I receive the worse my impression gets of this whole process.
I purchased the Living Social deal for custom chinos thinking that it would be a great way for me to start the process of overhauling my wardrobe and allow me to «get my feet wet» with purchasing tailored clothing since properly fitted pants are basically impossible for me to find in any off the rack retailer.
I began the process of attempting to book an appointment to see a tailor (silly me) in August but could never reach a live person on the phone during the stated business hours. I left three messages over a 12 day window but received no responses until I emailed the corporate office in the middle of September (at which time I found the rather bipolar reviews here on Unilocal which had me thoroughly confused) and within the hour received that call back and scheduled my appointment.
I arrived precisely on time for my appointment, after having been told over the phone how tightly they have to book them and how busy they are at this location (thus being unable to answer the phone) and then proceeded to wait nearly 20 minutes before being seen. Hmmm… this was not looking too good.
The office space that I was brought into for my measurements was about the size of my work cubicle, which isn’t a problem because honestly how much space does one need to get their body measured before looking over fabric samples? What did have me a bit concerned, and for good reason it turns out, was that my custom fitted pants apparently only required 4 specific measurements be taken without regard to my lifestyle and how I the end user would actually move in these garments since those measurements were not taken by the actual tailor who would be assembling these garments for me and there was nowhere on the fill-​in-​the-​box form for that information. Then, barely an hour after I had left the showroom, I learned that one of the colors I had selected was no longer available; information that would have been very helpful to know BEFORE I placed the order, information that should be shared with the showrooms on a daily, if not real time, basis to avoid these types of inconveniences. But I held onto hope.
Three weeks later I received a phone call informing me that my pants had arrived and I made arrangements to pick them up that very same day. Things were looking good. I arrive, am seen in less than 20 minutes this time, and am presented with my pants. The first pair I TRY to try on appears to have been at best constructed to the precise measurements of my body because they are practically painted onto my thighs, I could not close the zipper or button the waist band, and they were at least an inch too short (hard to tell since I couldn’t actually get them on properly). For the sake of argument I attempted another pair only to find the same problems. Wouldn’t you know it, the mathematical operations that were performed during my initial fitting (???) before recording my measurements didn’t match up with my actual body and thus the pants didn’t fit. So I was remeasured and this time only one pair of pants was rush ordered for me to make sure everything was right before placing the full order. Two weeks later, I receive the email informing my that my «BookATailor Bespoke clothing is ready» and I schedule a pick-​up appointment for the next day through the link provided. Except of course when I arrive they are not ready for me, neither the staff nor the pants. So I had to come back 2 days later.
On my fourth visit to the Boston office at the end of my workday there is a pair of pants waiting for me. I put them on and they actually go all the way onto my body. I do a few twists and turns, knee lifts and bends and they seem to be okay. We place a rush order for the other 5 pairs which are to be shipped directly to my home by Nov. 13 so I won’t be inconvenienced any further (nice customer service touch) and I wear the pants out so that I can rush out to catch my train. About halfway down the street I am not loving how tight the thighs are. Walking down the stairs to the train platform and I KNOW that these pants are still not right; too tight and still too short which was brought home while sitting down on the train. I immediately call the office and leave a message informing them to hold the order as the measurements are still not right and asked when they would like me to bring back the pants (which have been hanging in my closet unused ever since). Upon arriving home I send an email to the same point. Five days later I get an email response informing me that they added ½ inch to the length and 1 inch to the thigh. That was at the end of October.
After 6 weeks have gone by I email again; still waiting to hear back 2 weeks later.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Fell for one of their online deals and of course had to opt for the upgraded non toilet paper fabric for premium cost. Further, upon measurements and order, Juliet guaranteed my order by a certain date and failed miserably without a courtesy update to me. The icing in the cake: THEY DO NOT RETURN CALLS OR EMAILS! There is no excuse for poor customer service in the retail service industry. I would not recommend Book a Tailor Boston to my worst enemy.
Update: Still have not received my order, more than two months later and a full month late. No returned calls or email. BookaTailor requested I contact them via Unilocal pm, and of course, no reply! Buyer beware, stay away from this illegitimate operation.

Wow– The customer service at Book A Tailor was by far the best I have ever had. Juliet helped me pick the Boston style for my husband (obviously he was there too) and she was extremely knowledgable and honest. We got a great deal on two shirts and a suit for $ 449, from Living Social. I did not at all feel pressured to buy. I got my order in under four weeks and everything was perfect. This was something he wanted but would not purchase himself, Book A Tailor made things go very smoothly for us.

I grew up with a highly stylish father who always looked bespoke and insisted having his suits tailored. A good friend of mine asked if I would help him spice up his wardrobe as he was going on interviews in these awful off the rack suits and he wasn’t getting the offers. While I was doing my morning browse of Living Social deals, I came across an amazing offer ~ 449.00 for a tailored designed to fit perfectly suit. I called up Jamie and told him get on that site now and get this deal. He did. He made an appointment. I accompanied him and must say I was impressed. Juliet was super sweet and knew her stuff. She wasn’t pushy at all and asked Jamie pointed questions about his preferred style. He wound purchasing 2 custom madeshirts for 79.00! Then he was fitted for the suit. I could see him lighting up. He wants to get a job in finance and we all know that banker’s like to dress sharp. He was definitely going to nab a job offer in this. He was told it take between 4 — 6 weeks which was a fair turn around time. He actually received it a few days before the 4 week order time. When he got it, he called me excitedly and of course I had to go over so he could model the goods. He looked like a sharp dressed man for sure.

I was in Boston for business for a month and needed a nice suit. I came upon this place and they were great. The representative was so friendly and helpful and I got the best deal for a suit and two dress shirts. They fitted it to perfection. The staff is very welcoming. Thanks for the excellent service.

My brother got a deal here from Living Social. We were helped by Juliet, who was fantastic. he got two custom made shirts for $ 79.00! Typically custom made clothes take months to arrive but he got his in 4 weeks!

I bought a great deal with this company for a suit and 2 custom shirts. I was fitted back in March 2014 and it is now END of August 2014 and I still have not received my tailored suit.
They originally told me 4 weeks is all it would take. After 10 weeks of me keeping in contact, they finally called me and told me it was done. Both shirts and my suit did not fit me AT ALL. I know this is usually normal for the first fitting and small adjustments need to be done BUT It was like their tailor just took the skin measurements that they sent and made it without any natural space to move. I couldn’t even sit with my pants on because they would have split. So they sent them back to be re-​tailored 2 times now. Because of their poor estimate on timing I missed 3 weddings with my new suit even though a woman on the phone assured me the original suit would be done by the first one.
So now I have called them AND emailed them asking specifically for a CALL back to let me know when my final suit would be done. I’ve called 4 separate occasions over the last 3 weeks now and I have not heard from them. The last time I was in contact with them was about 6 weeks ago. I don’t even know if they are receiving my messages!
Yes my suit and shirts were cheap… but was it worth the price for a 6 month wait AND counting? I don’t recommend them. I’m sorry Book A Tailor, I have given you multiple chances now, but you keep disappointing me

THE HIGHLIGHTS
I was fitted for a three piece suit on February 28, 2014. I was told that it would take 4 – 6 weeks to receive the suit and two cutom shirts.
After about 12 weeks the suit arrived at the office in Boston. When I went to pick it up the jacket and pants were two completely different colors/​materials. I kept the pants and the company promised to correct the mistake and send me the pants that match the suit.
A few weeks later I recieved the new pants in the mail. Once again they were the wrong color. They did not match the suit jacket AND they were a different color from the first incorrect pair of pants. Also this new pair of pants seemed to be slightly different measurements from the first pair and as a result were far too tight.
I sent a picture of the incorrect pants to BookATailor and requested that they either send me the correct pants OR cancel the entire transaction because at this point i was not confident that they could deliver on their promise. Finally a few weeks later (4+ months after the original fitting) I recieved pants that matched the jacket. THEY DID NOT FIT. The pants were a little tight and far too short.
I told BookATailor about the newest pair of pants and their solution was for me to take them to my own tailor and send them the bill. They covered the bill in a timely manner which was the first positive experience of this four month process. It should be noted that the tailor laughed at the quality of the stitching on the pants and said he «couldnt believe that these are custom pants».
THE EXTRA DETAILS
Customer service was terrible throughout the process. Jessi (in the showroom) was my first attemted contact — she never returned my calls.
The BookATailor website has a «contact us» page which states that they are «devoted to serving the needs of its current and prospective clients and will respond to any questions, comments, or concerns within 24 hours». I left a complaint here and never heard back.
Finally the woman who answers the phone at the main office in NY is worst of all. She was rude and did not seem to understand the importance of taking a customer complaint seriousley. I had many conversations with her and my favorite by far was when she put me on hold while i waited to speak with her manager, Paul. After being on hold for about 20 minutes i called from another line and asked for Paul and she told me that he had left for the day.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Just dont use this place. If you dont need custom then go to a Men’s Warehouse or another discount suit store. If you need custom then suck it up and pay a little extra and find a reputable business so that you dont have to deal with this terrible terrible business.

Go in with your eyes wide open.
The horror stories that everyone else is telling is true. My wife bought me a groupon for two custom shirts. I went in to pick out my fabric and accessories and everything costs more. The basic fabrics that come free with the shirt are hideous looking and cheap. If you want something mediocre its an extra $ 30 per shirt. If you want nice material its an extra $ 50 a shirt. They nickel and dime you for everything that makes a custom shirt a custom shirt. After paying double what I thought I would pay I had the privelidge of waitng 4 months for my shirts to come back. . 1 of which doesnt fit. I am betting they take the measurements here and have these sown in sweat shops in third world countries for next to nothing. Then charge you $ 200 for a custom shirt.
Do yourself a favor and just go to normal taylor for your custom shirts & suits.

Please do NOT waste your time or money. Terrible customer service and poor quality clothing.
