History

Established in 2013.

Mary Kinneavy worked for decades at Pathways to Wellness, Boston’s première public health clinic for alternative and complementary medicine, until their closure in 2014. She began Boston Acupuncture Oasis in the summer of 2013 as a small practice open only one day a week in the North End. Business grew and she expanded to the Back Bay in May of 2014, and now offers private treatment 4 days a week between the two locations.

Meet the Business Owner

Mary K.

Business Owner

Mary Kinneavy began her career as an acupuncturist in 1987, after graduating from the New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown. She specialized in gentle Japanese techniques, and studied with many visiting Japanese scholars and practitioners. She joined Pathways to Wellness in 1992. Pathways specialized in treating chronic, complex illness, primarily HIV, up until 2000 when it opened its doors to the general public. Since then, she has added fertility support as an area of focus.

Mary’s love for acupuncture began 30 years ago as a patient, when she discovered that medicine could feel good while it was working. Acupuncture made her feel stronger and more at peace while performing its healing action. She had to share that new found knowledge and experience, so she enrolled in acupuncture school immediately and has been practicing ever since.
