Boston Marriott Long Wharf

Very nice hotel. The view was amazing and it was literally in the middle of everything you would need. Five minute walk to north end restaurants. Management at check in was on top of any request and was so professional. Everything was clean and in order. Any request were taken care of in 5 min or less. The pool area was perfect for kids. Overall no complaints. I would definitely go here again.

Just had a «brunch» with my daughter and her sorority families. It had to be the worst brunch. It was all carbs, no fruit, no lettuce, just a glorified continental breakfast buffet for $ 35. It was terrible the best thing on the plate was the red potato home fries! Not impressed at all. From this visit I would not recommend. You want a great breakfast buffet, go to the Seaport Hotel!!!

Nice hotel. Clean. Good side view of the harbor and downtown. Especially like the lobby. It’s like a big living room where you can order drinks. We brought back desserts from Mike’s, and had them with coffee. The waitress said that was very common. The bar is modern. Weekend breakfast buffet is $ 25. Valet parking is $ 51 a night. This hotel is in the center of the historic Freedom Trail district. Lots to see and do.

Had a problem on our first visit with some staff. After hearing about our problem management went all out on trying to earn back our business. We decided to give it one more try. Upon arrival we were treated like VIPs. Staff was like, we have been expecting you.
Our room was upgraded, in our room we had chilled water and dried fruit and nuts and a letter from management saying how honored they were to have us back. It seemed like everyone in the hotel knew who we were and jumped when we needed something.
Every place has its problems but this place will make it right. This place is older and beds a little lumpy, but I would recommend to all travelers.

He staff at the this Marriott is great. Thy went the extra mile when checking me in. Nice room, good atmosphere, clean, and modern.

Went for Easter brunch with my family. Table of 16. A disappointment is an understatement. Omelet station was not operational for the first 45 minutes. No bacon, sausage or even scrambled eggs. I’ve had a better buffet experience at a Holiday inn express! And holiday Inn doesn’t whack you for $ 60! The scalloped potatoes they were serving were nearly black, very dark gray and unappealing. Good cup of coffee, and that’s about it. One carving station (ham). Not a good execution at all. Their chef should be ashamed for pyttin

What a crappy restaurant in a beautiful area of downtown Boston. It’s like a pig was dressed up to look like a princess. I meant it’s a motel with the Marriott name. Terrible rooms, stinky, dingy. Really old towels and pathetic beds. What else are we looking for in a hotel.

So initially I didn’t want to come here because me and my fiancé live in the city. But since the rate was so cheap I figured hey, why not. Upon arrival I thought the design and scenaray was great. Front desk guest service
was OK. My fiancé was a little bitter about them not acknowledging that she was a gold member and that they did not say much about the hotel upon check in. So later on, we arrived to the concierge lounge where we met Jamie! … I have to say I’ve never experienced customer service from a hotel like this. Jaime was so outgoing and friendly he talked to us and made us feel like we were home. A very genuine employee you guys have here and definitely deserves any awards awaiting. Also I wanted to mention .
2When we arrived to our room, there was a housekeeper inside. The housekeeper stated that she was checking on our waters?
I work at a hotel and know that no housekeeper should be inside a room when a guest is expected to arrive. So when she left, my fiancé found a crumbled chocolate chip cookie beside the bed. A few minutes passed and the same housekeeper arrived with a bottle of Fiji water stating that she was making sure we had water? Hmmm maybe feeling guilty that she was caught in our room. Not sure. Not here to get anyone in trouble but I felt I had to note this because she closed the door on us after we accessed the door with our room key and made us use out room key again to get into our room. I thought it was rude of her. But besides that I’m going to say Jaime has made out night for sure and we would love to come back.

So disappointed.

Bed was worn, awful nights sleep
Bathroom supplies were poor. Let’s face it, who wants to phone down for toilet paper?
Valet is $ 51/​day– I guess it’s the norm, but still stupid money
Coffee– not available until 7, so you have to either order room service or walk to Dunkins
Not the cleanest– many areas were dirty and test was a big surprise
Room– very small, fairly well appointed, but not the level we expected
If you stay, there are a lot of pros, just beware– know the cons

I am oh-​so very pleased with the immaculate professionalism of the team at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf. Every individual was kind, professional, and extremely helpful with every aspect of my wedding day. They made the planning, decision-​making and the entire wedding day itself seem simple and stress-​free. Christen, Alyssa and their team were absolutely exquisite in every single way. I felt like I didn’t have to do anything extra on my special day; the people at the hotel took care of everything… they even organized our stuff (including anything that was left over in the ball room) and put it all together in our room for an easy morning the next day. I am so happy with how they dedicated themselves to our day and took care of anything we may have needed. Thank you, everybody, for an absolutely amazing day. Each and every one of you made it lovely and perfect.

Great staff. Price for rooms were great used military rate. Close to all Boston attractions. Views from rooms awsome.

I have stayed here a few times for multiple events from weddings to conferences and just a weekend to get away and relax with my girlfriends. Most recently a wedding on a Saturday in August. Overall the location is great, valet and all staff is very friendly, wedding venue option is breathtaking with views of the water, financial district and greenway — also a short walk to the North End.
When arriving for the wedding I was all dressed — coming from the church and somewhat in a rush. The valet staff was great and offered a hand as I got our of the car, asked to help with my bags and took down my information as needed. Front desk staff was great very friendly and directed me to both the reception and my room. The accommodations are great from a pool on the 3^rd floor to wifi, café, key location, wedding venue options and hotel bar.
I was on the 2^nd floor near the elevator lobby — despite not coming back to the room until late I had a tough time sleeping due to noise from outside and inside. By being near the elevators I could barely sleep as I kept hearing the housekeeping staff go by with carts or guests go to and from the elevator lobby. On the plus side check out is at 12:00 noon and if you valet you can keep your car there from 12:00 noon — 6:00PM with no additional charge.
For a Saturday the price is expected at roughly $ 450/​$ 500 unless you book a room through a wedding event or have AAA for a cheaper rate. I lucked out by going through the wedding yet the room and valet was roughly $ 400 for one evening. Between the weekend rate change, location, amenities and it being in a prime area in the city I completely understand the price. I plan to stay again yet would ask for a room elsewhere and above the 3^rd floor to stop the potential smell of chlorine from the pool. Luckily I didn’t notice it too much but I know other guests that did, its mainly noticeable when walking the stairs.

I’m a Marriott Platinum rewards member, and I’ve had mostly positive experiences with this hotel. Best part of this hotel is the location, conveniently located in downtown Boston and just a few blocks from our Boston Corporate offices. I’ve had a couple issues around billing, but were all quickly resolved, and even compensated with points accumulating to ~40,000. Points really mean nothing to them, but the customer service is always on point when I have an issue with any Marriott property. The concierge lounge overlooks the wharf and you can witness beautiful sunsets as you sit in for breakfast before starting your day. I’m scheduled to be here in the next couple weeks, see you soon —

My stepdad is a Marriott guy. I’m just not. The lobby on the 2^nd floor is nice. The bed is comfy — room is fine. It’s in a good location. I don’t know — it’s just not my style or demographic.

Wow, I’m embarrassed FOR this hotel. My sister and her children came to visit from New Jersey and for over $ 1,000 were treated to a filthy room with no extra bed as they were promised. First room had what looked like a pubic hair on the bathroom door handle, crumbs on the bed, and sticky stains of what I *hope* were food on the handle of the phone. Took her three times to actually get anything to happen. Staff were rude, dismissive, and generally ignoring us. One staff member in room service actually argued with my sister about her bill for fifteen minutes! I used to work for Marriott and this wouldn’t happen in the hotel I worked for.
This would have been a one star review except for the fact that the manager actually did make it right.

Beautiful hotel on the water. Walking distance to many fabulous restaurants, shopping, local attractions and just about anything of interest. Great concierge lounge, pool, deck and restaurant. Highly recommend.
The concierge staff are friendly and welcoming. They do whatever they can to make your experience a good one.
The bellman are over the top kind and courteous. They know my husband by name. They are genuinely kind and helpful. They are engaging and helpful. It’s a very nice place to stay on the waterfront in Boston.

My review can be short and sweet/​sour. I’m a lifetime Platinum at Marriott and have stayed at this location a few times over a 15 — 18 year period. Stayed this weekend after a company sponsored event at the Intercontinental down the street.
Pros: This is a great location as most have mentioned in the review.
Cons: This place hasn’t changed in more than a dozen years. Consider that coupled with other «like» hotels, this ranks at the top for most expensive and at the bottom for quality and comfort. Net/​Net: Old, outdated rooms, outside bar no longer in place and a grumpy hostess at the restaurant for today’s breakfast (⁶⁄₂₁) make this location a «skip» in my opinion.
There are just far too many places to drop $ 400 + on weekend night room on the water in Boston than to worry about this place.
TIP: When the bellman tries to talk you out of using Über for the «guy over here who will only charge you 25 including tolls.» Tell him NO THANKS and take Über. Über is about $ 11 bucks, has someone who will take you directly to the airport and speaks and understand the native language of America, English. Oh and a huge plus Their cars don’t stink!

I’ve stayed here multiple times for business; while solid, it can be hit or miss.
This hotel probably works well for tourists, but can be challenging if you’re here for work. The internet is absolutely atrocious and stress-​inducing if you’re trying to complete work. It’s very difficult to get online for work:
— WiFi starts at $ 12.95 per day. It was so slow, and dropped so frequently, it could
take me 15 minutes just to sign on or send an email. It was very frustrating
being here for a conference and trying to access work email during breaks
during the day.
— When WiFi didn’t work on my laptop/​iPhone, overall 3G and 4G Internet signal is
awful, too.
In essence, it’s really hard if you are here in a business capacity because it was very time-​consuming, and sometimes impossible, to do something as simple as check your work email account or send an email.
Over the years, I’ve noticed the Concierge level and offerings have improved. The breakfast offering is robust (eggs, fruit, bagels, toast, etc.), the appetizers around 5:30 are great (wine, cheese, hors d’ouvres), and the desserts at night (mini cupcakes and whoopi pies) are fun. The business center also worked well and it was easy to access the Internet and use the printer. My only gripe is the Concierge suite can be inconsistent; they are often closed when they shouldn’t be and late in setting up various snack offerings. Again, this is probably fine if you’re a tourist, but if you’re here for business on a schedule and just trying to grab a bite to eat throughout the day while you’re working it can be frustrating when the Concierge suite closes early or runs behind schedule.
I do think the value of the Concierge level has increased and is worth the extra cost because of all the perks with coffee, breakfast, wine and cheese, and internet/​printer, particularly if you’re here with family and then don’t have to be as dependant on eating out constantly. I will say I did frequently hear screaming kids on the Concierge floor hallways and in the lounge.
Overall, solid hotel, very nice and spacious gym, pretty pool, and good food. Avoid Room 702– that shouldn’t even be a guest room— it’s situated between the Concierge suite and the dishwasher/​laundry rooms and you’ll hear rattling dishes at all hours. Good access to the Faneuil Hall area, Boston Harbor, and Seaport if you’re here as a tourist.

This used to be my home-​away-​from-​home back in the late 90s, early 00s when I consulted for several different financial service companies in the Boston area. I always loved this hotel for its proximity to Faneuil Hall and to Boston’s North End. What’s great about Boston in general is that during the nice weather months you can pretty much walk anywhere if you have the time. And the Marriott Long Wharf serves as a good home base to wherever you’re headed.
Having not been back in at least a decade, my recent stay here was nostalgic, if a little sad. In my early young professional days, staying at the Long Wharf was like staying in a king’s palace. But I have since had the fortune to stay in many nice hotels in various parts of the world, and I have to say the Marriott Long Wharf doesn’t feel all that special anymore.
It’s an older hotel. How old, I don’t really know. And it feels old and more worn down than I remember. The rooms are small, the bathrooms tight, and the ceilings low. It is still an extremely clean and comfortable place to lay your head, but at these prices you might want to try a nicer, newer hotel in the area. The old lady’s really showing her age, and she just ain’t the cougar she used to be.

A nice full service Marriott. The views of the bay are beautiful from the higher floors.
The staff here were also extremely helpful.
I slightly prefer this hotel to the Copley Marriott from a décor and location perspective.
I held a large event at their ballroom and they did a great job with the catering.
