I mean, it’s cool if you need supplies for a bachelorette party and fun favors but I found the selection of other things to be pretty limited.
Of course I’m somewhat comparing it to Good Vibrations because they have the ultimate selection of everything that CW lacks.
I think someone that is slightly uncomfortable about exploring unknown territory will love this shop as its a great low key intro.
You know those people that think everyone is looking at and judging them? Yep, those types will be comfortable here because it’s not overwhelming.

This was my first experience in a adult store. I wasnt expecting much or had high hopes of anything but when i walked in i was shocked by the amount of emptu space this place has. there arent many options in this store to be honest, and everything looked cheap made. The girl that was working did helped my ALOT and im very thankful for her recommendations and her help but i was hoping to see way more toys, games and lubs.

I really want to give more stars, because how can you beat a name like Condom World?! But alas, they let me down.
With a name like that, I was really expecting there to be the largest variety of condoms I’ve ever seen in my life. Nope, not really. There was a selection, yes. But nothing I couldn’t find at any regular sex shop or major pharmacy chain. I really wanted the bells and whistles of condoms, but the selection here is quite ordinary. Wah.
The rest of the store is a bit disappointing as well. There’s so much space to put so much more merchandise. It’s current state makes you wonder if they’re going out of business.
However– you must visit Condom World. Service is super friendly and really– it’s super fun to say you went to Condom World!

I felt for what I was looking this store like almost nothing I was looking for including the condoms and that is sad for a store with a name like condom wrld

This place is just an excuse for college students who were sheltered to brag about going to a sex shop. I went in here with a few friends just to look around and the selection was small and crummy. By crummy I mean cheap plastic looking sex toys. It is all the same toys just different colors. The sales people are to busy on their phones to even ask if you need help at all. It is not welcoming or comfortable. Good vibes has a much bigger selection and they are not cheap looking. The sales people at good vibes are much more nice and the store is more relaxed.

Condom World is a fantastic option for those of you wondering how to even start the search for a sex toy (or game, or whatever it is you might be looking for to spice up the bedroom!).
Don’t be fooled by the title, there’s a wide variety of products at this store. Jokes, party stuff, condoms and lube (of course), massage oils, toys, etc… a small fetish section too though if you need specialty gear you’ll have to look elsewhere.
The staff is professional and knowledgable. If you are scared or nervous or have no idea what you are looking for/​how to act just talk to one of them and let them know you aren’t sure where to start. They’re super helpful! Buying a toy can be intimidating and complicated, but feel free to ask them questions… seriously I get the impression that they love nothing more than getting a chance to tell a new customer all about the differences between the products!

I’m not sure why some of the reviews are negative on here. I stopped into Condom World on a whim while doing some shopping on Newbury Street. I just stopped in to browse and was cheerfully greeted by the staff. After browsing the store for a few minutes an associate asked if I had any questions about anything.
Now, I don’t know too much about adult toys and had only a vague idea of what I was looking for, so I asked for their advice. Not only did they point me in the right direction and explain the differences between different products/​materials, but they even went so far as to put batteries in the product so I could get a better idea of the vibration. They made me feel comfortable discussing such a personal topic which is a rarity. I ended up walking out with not only a great silicone product, but also a greater knowledge on the subject which I definitely appreciate!
I will definitely be coming back here again.

Anyways, I went to the shop that looked like an old Brooklyn apartment in the Bronx, a butt load of bars on the first floor to keep the crazies in and inappropriate stuff out the window that little kids should not see. I really could care less though.
I came into this store to kinda venture on my own, I didn’t really need a goddamn shadow looking at me looking at stuff. Listen buddy, I’m wearing a romper with a wristlet, I am damn certain none of these foot-​long dildo’s or blow up dolls ain’t being concealed for stealing by me, that’s for damn sure.
I am sort of creeped out though, one of them looked like a white Michelle Obama, when I noticed it and wanted to take a picture, the guys said I couldn’t take pictures in the store because of copyright reasons, blah, blah, blah. Whatever.

I pity the person who referred to this shop as «sex positive» as they clearly have been sold the wrong idea of what that term means.
This depressing shop full of tacky/​toxic toys turns my stomach. I’ve tried going twice only to have the same condescending man «help» me both times. Once I was looking for a specific product and when they didn’t have it he started throwing other things at me while I tried to leave. He grew increasingly impatient and asked why it was «so important» that I have that specific product … um, perhaps because I’m paying and it will be touching my genitals and also shut up?
Then, for god knows what reason, I tried again. I went in and asked for a silicone dildo. The man directed me to a (admittedly marked on the box as silicone, though I’d like to see the tests on this thing) VIBRATOR. When I pointed this out he said, in a mocking tone no less, «Yeah, well you don’t have to turn it on!» He also pointed me toward a case of Lelo vibes (still vibes) and implied that no one could afford to be spending the money on that nonsense! (you know, high-​quality body-​safe toys) Then, because I was being SOOO demanding he halfheartedly showed me a «real skin» dildo and told me it was a «superior material» (a word to the wise, it isn’t — playboy recently ran a decent piece about toxic sex toys, check it out) and again got really impatient as I tried to get the hell out.
In a city that contains a Good Vibrations, where I proceeded to get a decent $ 35 medical grade silicone dildo an hour later, there’s no reason to go to this dingy, depressing place and have some douche man-​splain products he clearly knows very little about to customers he clearly cares nothing about.

Blech.
If you’re serious about sex, Condom World is not for you. Their selection is meager and profoundly disappointing. They appear to be more interested in the novelty toys like fuzzy handcuffs and sex dice and penis straws than being a real sex shop. The selection here is seriously limited if you’re not looking for a gag gift. You’ll find a couple mediocre starter toys but have no options to compare it to. Seriously CW only carries only one brand of silicone based lube but a bunch of feather boas. Lose.
Additionally retail price for some of their items was three times what I had seen in other stores. I don’t mind paying more to support local stores, but I had serious sticker shock here. Condom World doesn’t seem that invested in sexuality. Other shops I’ve been to will hold sex workshops, and while I don’t need all my sex shops to do that queer people and people with alternative sexualities will have little to no luck finding what they need here. Meh.
While the staff was cute and friendly enough (them and the Kimono condoms are the only redeeming features) this place is a joke more suited to entertaining giggling teenagers than anywhere you want to go to buy your sex supplies (and bowls?). The lighting makes for a depressing shopping experience too.
Stay away.

While the girl at the register seemed pretty chill, she could not save that store from its own swirling vortex of gross. Condom World is like the basement of someone’s super creepy uncle. Like, I understand that people need to be able to buy crap for bachelorette parties somewhere, but it was all just so… common. I know that makes me sound like a 58-​year-​old British divorcée, but I don’t know how else to characterize it. With the exception of a few LELOs, all the toys looked cheap and flimsy — not at all like something anyone would ever want to seriously use. There were also a bunch of men’s t-​shirts on the back wall, printed with what I can only describe as assorted slogans for professional sexual-​harassers. They do have a small selection of condoms for sale (it is Condom World, after all), as well as various other adult knickknacks.
I for one will be sticking to Good Vibes for all my grownup-​gal needs, but I guess if you ever need a feather boa and a blowup doll (no judgment) and you need ‘em quick, this place’ll do.

If you’re looking for a sex-​positive environment, Condom World is a great place to go. The staff are cool, knowledgable, and give great recommendations. This isn’t the kind of shady sex shop where people go to return cum-​stained DVDs as they hang their heads in shame. It’s got more of a fun and educational vibe to it. I bet if Condom World was a person and could say one thing, they would be all like, «w00t, sexxxy time!»
That being said, Condom World’s offerings are almost skimpier than the g-​strings flossing Jenna Jameson’s ass. This establishment is more of a sex shop sampler plate; they’ve got enough to cover the basics — condoms, vibrators, DVDs — but that’s about it. Not bad for Newbury St, but it pales in comparison to many other shops out there.
All in all, not a bad place to go poke around.

Amazing selection of condoms that aren’t found at the typical drug store, the nice/​good ones ;). The staff is very kind, helpful, and approachable. Oh and definitely keep an eye out for Unilocal deals. That’s how I ended up there in the first place and such a bargain!
I think my favorite part of the trip was they were helping a gentleman pick out a sex toy for his wife when I walked in. (I overheard him saying that they’d been married quite awhile and had three kids) As he checked out, having picked out something recommended by the cashiers to spice things up, they made sure he picked up the necessary batteries as well. I just hope that there are people like that helping my future hubby someday. ;)

Good for fun bachelorette party things but not an actual adult sex shop. The people at the counter are ok. The place is just an open space with stuff all pinned to the wall and a small rack in the back placed almost in the middle. The place is small but not greatly stocked. The lighting is horrible and the place could use some sprucing up in terms of maximizing the space that is available.
The toys are overpriced for the quality and cheaply made. If you’re in the need for some condoms and lube this is a good quick-​stop place but that’s about it.

I actually went to condomworld to buy condoms recently, which is odd, as I’ve previously only bought gag gifts and party favors there. Me and the man were looking at the wall o’ condoms and the sales associate came over and asked us if we had any questions. My immediate thought was to say no out of embarrassment, but then I thought better of it and asked the questions that I did in fact have. Not only did he answer our questions in an extremely professional, very knowledgeable way, but he also set us at ease and kept great eye contact the entire time.
So, if you’re sick of the limited condom selection at drug stores, I definitely recommend this store. What a wonderful, sex-​positive experience. And, they have penis pasta!

Ugh. Was I ever stupid. First off, it’s tiny. Like every other place on Newbury, there’s too much stock in too little a space (that’s what she said). And if you can get past the gaggles of giggling teens, there isn’t much to see.
Thumbs down, Condom World. You’re just a novelty sex shop that was worth a few laughs before I realized that Boston has many better adult stores to visit.

People go into Condom World to say they’ve been in a sex shop, NOT because they’re in the business of finding a sex toy. Why do I say this?
a) The selection isn’t that expansive, and it’s pretty tame.
b) MORE IMPORTANTLY: Anyone who knows anything about sex toys knows that most of the toys sold at this store are in fact of VERY VERY POOR QUALITY and MANY OF THEM CONTAIN CARCINOGENS. Those gelly dildos — the ones that smell like a shower curtain? — those are both carcinogenic and almost impossible to sterilize.
Now, you say, that is impossible! They can’t sell something that dangerous! Isn’t that regulated? No, of course it’s not regulated, because that would require the government to acknowledge that people touch themselves (and I’m pretty sure that’s still illegal in some states).
So basically, whoever owns this place doesn’t know enough about reproductive health to stock his or her store with safe toys.
Here’s why I didn’t give one star: Not ALL of the toys at this place are of poor quality. Educate yourself on what constitutes a safe sex toy, and you’ll be able to sift through their selection and find SOMETHING useful.
Also, yes, great stuff for bachelorette parties.

Not far from my hometown, in South Florida, we have the Adult Video Warehouse. The place is so expansive they have an entire isle just for butt plugs. Seriously. not my isle, but you get the scope…
Condom World is nothing like this. It’s boring and sterile. It’s a place for bored housewives to visit and giggle and buy something they think is naughty to show their husbands, but it isn’t naughty. No no. Condom World does not KNOW naughty.
«Meh» is the perfect expression for this place. It’s not even bad enough to get one star. It’s the Gigli of adult stores.

The staff is the best thing about this store, hands down. Very helpful and knowledgeable which is great, since I hate going to a sex shop and talking to a staff member who might as well be a virgin with STDs.
The prices are kinda high for sex toys and the selection isn’t very big (but then again, i’ve been to the mother of all sex shops, the Hustler store on Sunset); even though I ended up getting an I-​vibe you’d do better buying them online.
The variety of condoms is larger than your average CVS, and they have unique varieties packs for those who like to explore. I’d definitely come here to get gag gifts for a friend’s bachelor/​bachelorette party because they have a lot of silly props and such.
If you are in the area, it wouldn’t hurt to stop here to resupply your gloves, buy a new toy, or even just stare at the novelty with your mouth open.
