Hi there! We’re Contagious Events. We plan real weddings for real people.
Although we specialize in weddings, we plan all kinds of events for all kinds of people. Everything at Contagious Events is created from scratch, so there’s no project too big or too small for us to get excited about.
We’re a small event planning company based in Boston, Massachusetts. At Contagious Events, we believe events should be as unique as the people they honor.
We also believe having a planner isn’t a luxury reserved solely for the social elite: we love what we do and we love our clients. That’s why at Contagious Events, we’ve set out to «disrupt» the event industry:
We offer unlimited (yes, you read that right) communication. Email, Phone call, in person meetings, smoke signals — if you want/need to talk to your planner, you should be able to! We also guarantee a 24 hour response to all unanswered calls and emails.
We charge on a flat, project fee. Not an hourly rate. Not a percentage of your event budget. Oh, and we also don’t have any sort of agreements with event vendors where we receive a commission.
If you’re ready to be encouraged to ask questions, share Pinterest boards, inspiration photos and work with someone who’s going to obsess over your event almost as much as you are, give us a call. The first meeting (and coffee) is on us.
History
Established in 2008.
Contagious Events started in the event industry by helping same sex couples navigate the unique challenges that they face when planning their wedding. Simple traditions, such as who walks down the aisle, what to wear, and special dances become less tradition and more obstacle. We wanted to create an experience for couples so the wedding planning process could be fun and memorable, not stressful and ridden with anxiety.
After proven success, we’ve taken our mission of making the wedding planning process enjoyable to a broader audience: from traditional weddings to dinner parties, birthday celebrations to launch parties, our goal is to make sure our clients enjoy the process and the event without stressing over the details.
Meet the Business Owner
Joe R.
Business Owner
Joe Rogers is a gay wedding and event planner based in Boston, Massachusetts. Educated at Boston University, Joe decided early in his life that he would make a difference and pursue his passion: planning incredible events. A nod to his commitment and ability to plan outstanding events, BU administrators nominated Joe for the Scarlett Key Award for his exceptional leadership during his time at BU. Post graduation, he founded his own company, Contagious Events, in 2008 — the remedy to sooth his creative itch.
Joe currently resides in Boston and enjoys helping same sex couples plan their wedding. In his free time, he enjoys traveling locally: specifically Provincetown and the White Mountain region of New Hampshire. Joe volunteers as a «Big» with Big Brother Big Sister of Massachusetts Bay. He is an avid argyle supporter and hopes to one day adopt a French Bulldog he plans to name Fatima, which he hopes to hire as his executive assistant.
