In short, This is definitely way way way worse than the worst business I’ve ever experienced
Rethink a million times before you click on dollar rental! I bet you will regret it. They charge you extra nonsense fees two months later without your consent, such as toll administration fees which could be 10x bigger than your toll fees. They would never let you that before you rent the vehicle, or even after you return the vehicle and pay the bill. They will simply quietly hide this and let the third party company send you the bill for hundreds of dollars of fees that you are not even aware of. Stay away from this asssss hole biz. Protect yourself, please.

This is the ideal place to rent a car in Boston. It’s convenient and easy. My rep’s name was Kevin Wilson. He really helped me out when it came to having to lengthen my contract and return the car a bit late. All in all positive. I’ve rented from them before and will continue to do so.

Slow and weird, but functional.
Came from NYC and took the train to Back Bay Station, then took a quick five minute walk to this rental car place which is located in the back of the lobby of the Marriott. It’s not even a real office, just a desk and a computer right near the valet parking office.
There was only one guy working. He was nice but there are a lot of forms to sign so checking out one person took about 10 minutes.
Once we got the car, it was fine. Returned it by dropping it off to the valet.

The Dollar Rent A Car at the Boston Marriott is an ideal place to get a car because of the location and service. If they don’t have a car available, the employees Mark and Mike, make it happen by calling around.
Getting in and out of Boston is normally a hassle, but the hotel and rental office is situated in a prime location and the pick-​up and drop-​off is easy.

I had a reservation via Priceline and had no issues at pick-​up or drop-​off.
Location is prime and T-​accessible which helps when you don’t have a car (hence renting one).
Dollar Rent A Car is the most affordable car rental agency in the city so they’re my go-​to now.
Note: If you purchase insurance via Priceline, you can opt out of Dollar’s insurance option and save!

Had a reservation for pickup at this Dollar location at the Copley Marriott, though may as well have showed up without one.
We were running 1 hour late for our car pickup time, in hoping for a 1-​hour late return the following day. Unfortunately, we were told that there were no cars available and we would have to wait 20 – 45 minutes — this is even WITH a reservation.
Was told there were other customers in the same situation. It became clear that the location over-​sold cars on a first-​come basis, and those with reservations were pretty much ignored. Was told that the agent’s (Mark) manager was already involved and had customers at two locations waiting.
A minivan became available after 15 minutes. We’re car people in the first place, but around narrow downtown Boston streets? No thanks. Better to get the family with loud children out of the lobby so we could continue our miserable wait in peace. More than 1 hour later, we were STILL waiting for a car.
We gave up after 2.5 HOURS from reservation pickup time. In all my years of renting cars (I am a Hertz Gold member), i have NEVER been unable to get a car. Unbelievable. Called corporate to complain, and got bounced around like another reviewer.
Done with this mess. What a HUGE waste of time. AVOID this location!

Everything was pretty good — until I got a flat tire. They just weren’t interested. I had AAA change it and the tire wasn’t fixable. I drove on the donut almost 100 miles to the closest Dollar place – which was a little out of my way. There was no compensation for being put out.

Renter beware, extra $ 20 a day fee for under 26 years old! Website says 25 years old. Cancelled our reservation at the desk for this dishonesty

I too had contact issues with Dollar. This was not the fault of this location, but instead the corporate call center. It took mutiple calls and transfers to finally reach this location. I hadn’t realized that this site closes early on Sundays (4:00), which completely ruined my plans for Sunday afternoon. I was told to return the car to the airport (a $ 35 cab ride back downtown) or keep it another day (more $$ plus hotel parking fees).
I was super frustated and figured my Sunday plans we shot. Mike from the Copley locaiton called me back and came up with a great alternative to connect with the valet. This was creative and not your typical subpar large corporate customer service. I was sincerely impressed and appreciative. This is what keeps customers! giving 4 stars because to the corporate red tape.

Rented car today, and it was a smooth transaction. Had great customer service from Mark, and the price was very reasonable. FYI… You’ll find this location inside the Marriott Hotel.

I’m not sure why there aren’t more reviews for this location, but all I can say is that customer service with this location is lacking. Perhaps a start would be calling them on the phone, but since calls to local offices are immediately routed to a national calling center, one has no way of reaching them by phone.
Moreover, their hours are near impossible to find, as I was given 3 different Saturday closing times by the call center, the Marriott and the rental agreement. I would avoid this place if at all possible, simply because of its difficult location and the company’s subpar customer service.

No issues with dollar rental here — was a little concerned after reading the negative reviews of the other Dollar Rent a Car locations in Boston, but had no issues here.
Desk is in the back of the Copley Marriott and only one employee at the desk, but I had no wait. He was friendly and explained everything well.
Car was a clean Hyundai and they requested that we bring a gas receipt within 10 miles (easy to find) upon return. No additional fees charged — I was satisfied!
