First of all this is in Jamaica Plain which is a part of Boston. It is not Brookline. I live in JP and my mother has stayed here a couple times. Very modern, nice rooms. This area has changed drastically in just the past year. The trolley runs back and forth to wherever you need to be in the city.
(btw I chuckle and roll my eyes when I read a bad review of ANYTHING that’s in Boston when the author is from NYC)

I selected this hotel because it was two miles — straight shot — from my daughter’s apartment in JP, and my youngest daughter and I were visiting. I couldn’t have been happier with the hotel. The rooms are reasonably-priced, and spacious for a small hotel. We had two comfortable double beds. The room was impeccably clean. The linens and towels were of nice quality — thick towels, but not ridiculous. There were two spa robes in our room. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was spacious. The desk staff was very helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. Free wi-fi, and the lamps on the bedside table and the desk have two outlets each, so there was plenty of room for charging laptops and phones. There are free sweets in the lobby on the weekend evenings. For us, it was a totally pleasant experience. There was some traffic noise, but not enough to worry about. I just noticed it once.

Based on our experience, the hotel was very unkempt, replacing the first impression we had of it being a very neat and tiny hotel.
As soon as I fell asleep, I was bitten several times up and down my arm and on both my thumbs. As a result, I had several LARGE insect bites on my arm that were swollen by morning. My husband went to the front desk at 3 AM in the morning to report this, but nobody was there, not even after waiting for ten minutes. This is unacceptable, as their hotel claimed they had someone manning the front desk ²⁴⁄₇. When we reported all of this at check-out, the lady at the front desk made several excuses, ranging from, «You must have been allergic to the pillow or its detergent,» to «we sent people to check the room multiple times» and claimed they did not find any evidence of insect life. Absurd!
The hotel refused to take responsibility for this incident, and dismissed anything we brought up. Even after leaving, we attempted to contact the management of the hotel no less than a dozen times; however, the manager failed to respond to any of our calls. We ended up paying for the full night’s stay.
Overall, it was a throughly disappointing one-night stay, as we were just passing through Boston, and I sincerely hope we never stay at this hotel again, or a hotel of a similar caliber. Perhaps the least disappointing part of the trip was the free CrackerJack in the hotel lobby. Upon returning to New York City, I was hospitalized in the ER overnight at NYU, due to a severe reaction, which I have never experienced before.

This hotel is wonderful. I needed a place to stay for a one day meeting. When I booked they noted I needed early check in if possible. My room was ready as soon as I arrived at 1245pm. I mentioned needing to be at Boston Children’s hospital for a meeting at 1:45 pm and they simply told me they would have a cab ready and waiting for me at quarter after. It was seamless.
Upon return from my meeting I asked for dinner recommendations and was quickly offered a suggestion of a La Mora, a little Italian place nearby. Dinner was different and delicious.
When I got back I mentioned I had a 6 am flight and they said they’d have a cab ready at 415 am. They even slipped my receipt under my door to not bother me with check out in morning. I came down at 4 10am and the cab was pulling up. A lot of hotels can be nice, but you don’t always get all these awesome little things. I interacted with 4 different people at front desk in my one day and they all were wonderful :)
The rooms are big, clean, updated, comfortable, and all around great. Toiletries are high quality and they even have makeup remover wipes!
I will stay here again anytime I am in the area.

Excellent rates for the Boston area. Very close to public transportation. I overheard them telling a family that had to go to the Children’s Hospital that they provide free taxi vouchers to the hospital. How great is that?! Airport shuttle service, clean rooms, and a pantry downstairs. Wonderful and pleasant front desk staff. What a great experience!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean rooms, close to Brookline and public transport. Valet parking $ 20. Much more informal and fun than many hotels in the boutique category. Ask for a room towards the rear of the hotel as the «T» runs by the front. Good value for Boston.

I’d love to give it a 1.5 because I’m annoyed but it deserves a solid 3. It gets five stars for Jen the afternoon desk staffer and another five for the fast wifi, the closeness to the T and for the big bathrooms. The bed was just ok and the pillows were on the small side so I’m not loving on that aspect. Nor was the pullout bed a lovable item. I paid significantly extra for a third adult (my teenaged son) and therefore expected a reasonable bed-ish sort of a device. He ended up sleeping on the floor. Oh well. I am forgiving however (it was just one night and he’s flexible) so I got over that one by the time I’d brushed my teeth. The car thing however… Not so much. As we checked out and had our bags stowed I was told they had a limited parking area so it was their policy to ask us to take our car, even though we’d be back just after lunch, well before their other guests would need to check-in. As it was, I hadn’t expected to pay $ 20 for valet parking (plus tip), despite being in out in Brookline, and now I was being asked to find a rare street parking spot when I needed to be somewhere within the hour. The fact that they couldn’t make an exception when it was clear we were pressed for time is a perfect example of why this place gets three stars. Four and five star places try harder to find common ground.

I stayed at the hotel for one night. During check-in, the receptionist asked if he could put down my credit card for incidental fee. he explained that it is similar to damage fee and i said okay. I was not notify that he is actually charging me $ 50 for the incidental fee at that moment. I only knew about it only after i checked out. The next day when i called, the representative said it is an cross country US policy to charge for the incidental fee and it will go away 24 – 48 hours (it took 4 days).
I really hope that the hotel will notify their customers the specifics of their fees before placing any charges on their credit cards.
I do want to say that the hotel staff was friendly, and my room was comfortable and clean.

This is really a nice step up from our usual stays at highway motels. They are close to NE Baptist Hospital and provide special pricing for family or friends staying over while visiting. My wife had a knee repalcement and I spent 3 delightful nights at Envision. The room wasn’t spacious but was very comfortable, clean, and provided everything I needed. Microwave, refrigerator, keurig coffee maker, terry cloth bathrobes, flat screen cable TV, down pillows, etc. The hotel has a work-out room, and provides transporation to the hospital via a voucher system with a local can company. On-site valet parking is an additional $ 20/day but gives you unlimited access to your car to come and go. Very friendly staff and my room was very quiet for a city hotel.

This is a great little hotel. Right on the MTBA Greenline (Back Of The Hill station a few feet away) and multiple buses service this area. Easy ride to Boston and Cambridge. The room was very clean and large. They offered a complementary ice cream sundae bar on the Wednesday night, during our stay, which was a nice surprise. The staff is friendly, accommodating and very helpful. We are definitely staying here again the next time we are in Boston.

We stayed here on our very first trip to Boston and we thought it was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We had a lake view room and the road noise could be a little much at times, but still not bad. Using the ‘T’ is fairly easy; this hotel is located at basically the end of the ‘E’ Green Line, so if you miss your stop it’s not that big of a deal. Getting to Fenway Park was easy using the Green Line; we got off at the Museum of Fine Arts and cut through the park behind the museum and ended up on Yawkey Way. If we would have known how easy it was to use the ‘T’ I think we would have just used it to get to and from the airport.

Very conveniently located depending on where you need to get to. For me, I had to get to the VA Boston, which was literally 2 blocks away. This hotel is also very easy to get to from the airport via public transportation. No fuss!
Price was comparable/affordable to what I found at other places. Parking is steep so I didn’t opt for it since public transport was so easy. Rooms were spacious and clean.
I don’t know if this was a special night, but the night I checked in, they had a little dessert table by the front desk with various cupcakes, cookies and candy which I loaded up on! Nice little touch. And big smiles and no judgmental glances from the front desk staff when I took two large plates of cupcakes upstairs!

I stayed here for a conference at Harvard Medical’s campus. This was the best option with a two room /bath suite for me and my coworker. Easily the best price for quality of two rooms. I couldn’t match after searching for a week.
It was within walking distance of the conference and easy to get to from the airport via public transportation.
Clean and tidy with a new boutique look. The staff was responsive before and during my stay with recommendations and arranging transportation.
If I’m ever back in the area I will easily consider them.

Hotel… modern, but not cold. We had a king room and it had a microwave and fridge. nice surprise. The parking price of $ 18 is steep and we had to wait for the valet a few times.
Location…in a neighborhood called Jamaica Plain. Awesome local Irish Pub Doyles. Make sure to do your morning walk/jog in Olmsted Park. Only drawback is it is about 2 miles from Fenway, but great public transportation.

What a fabulous hotel. We stayed here for our wedding and were so pleased with the beautiful, spacious rooms and convenience to public transportation (the green line stops steps from the hotel’s front door). Free wifi is a nice bonus and valet parking isn’t too pricey.
The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. They even recommended some great late-night delivery spots.
We’ll definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Boston. The price is perfect and the hotel is just what we were looking for! Thanks!

What a nice place! I stayed here during a business trip and was pleasantly surprised.
What I liked:
–Wonderful customer service
–Spacious, clean rooms
–Decent location with T access
–Affordable (for Boston hotel standards)
What was fine:
–You have to pay $ 18 per night for parking. On the plus, it’s valet and they do a great job.
What could be better:
–There’s a lot of traffic from Huntington and River St.
–The door to our room stuck… and I mean STUCK. We had to literally body slam it to enter and pull with all our will to get out.

I had no idea Boston hotels were comparable, in terms of nightly rates, to the hotels in Manhattan. They were incredibly expensive and it was almost the reason why my friends and I weren’t going to take our spontaneous trip.
Glad I found Envision Hotel after a few google searches. Envision is a modern, clean boutique hotel that offers a great space at affordable rates. Our room had 2 double beds and it was a lot bigger than I expected. The bathroom was a comfortable size too. The hotel itself looks tiny from the front view but it’s long length wise. The only downside is that it is located away from Downtown Boston but it’s not too bad. The train is right across the street from the hotel and it’s relatively easy to get into the city.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking to stay in Beantown.
