I could spend all day in Eugene Galleries. This isn’t just an art gallery, this is history. There is so much to see in this store, thus far I’ve only been twice but I have every intention on becoming a regular. Likely I’ll need to go back several more times before I can actually say I’ve seen the entire gallery, by then I’m sure Barbara(the owner) will have made many more purchases. Anyway, the gallery isn’t as big as I’m certain my review has made it sound, but there’s a lot of art! Art on the walls, on shelves, in boxes, drawers… but at the same time its well organized and not cluttered. I also really love the diversity. There’s not just one theme going on here… different era’s, genres, styles. It really is a gem on Charles St.

The perfect spot for finding a slightly unusual gift that just may make you a family favorite. The owner, Barbara, finds all kinds of prints which she slips into mats and frames, resulting in some charming collectibles for your walls. She has them well organized so if you are searching for something related to Fish, Fashion or Fall River, you can find it easily. Just look under F. It’s really Fun searching for topics that are meaningful for you or a Family member. Many of the prints are related to Boston and its various neighborhoods. With some priced at $ 25, you can find a fun souvenir. You’ll see men with mutton chops, women in hoop skirts, old newspaper articles and views of the city from long ago. You’ll also find a wide assortment of maps and some old books. None of this is very valuable and many of the prints are taken directly from the pages of books, but you’ll be happy with your little treat. And if you buy one for a gift, the recipient will be happy, too, unless they were hoping for a Red Sox jersey, a box of salt water taffy or some Sam Adams coasters.

What a great find on Charles Street! I’ve walked by here literally hundreds of times and never stopped in until yesterday. Eugene Galleries is chock FULL of all sorts of prints at a reasonable price. From conservative to trendy, watercolor to photography, the selection is great. If they don’t have what you want, they are able to order it and have it in stock within a matter of days. In my opinion, everything is reasonably priced. Should you be suddenly inspired by HDTV to redecorate your place, roll down the hill to Eugene Galleries– you may find just what you’re looking for!

This is the most charming little place on Charles Street, chalk full of old prints and other rare finds. The owner is a charming German lady named Barbara. Don’t miss this store!
