History

Established in 1989.

The seeds for the creation of Fajitas & ‘Ritas were sowed during the proprietors days in Houston, Texas in the early 1980’s as he particularly enjoyed fajitas and margaritas. Believing that New Englanders would also enjoy the food, he brought it to Boston. Deciding that a focused limited concept would be easier to consistently execute than being all things to all people, the menu emphasis is on on fajitas and margaritas. Thus, the name, Fajitas & ‘Ritas; coining the name ‘Ritas as short for margaritas.

Fajitas & ‘Ritas opened on West Street on April 1, 1989 as a 61 seat restaurant. In 1998, the restaurant expanded from 61 to 170 in capacity.

Now enjoying over 24 years in business, the focus remains on foods from Texas, including smoked brisket and pulled pork.
