Beautiful store, helpful and knowledgable staff who are kind and who believe in the products. I buy the refillable hand soap which comes in three different scents. You can purchase a Follain bottle and get it refilled for $ 8. It will last for months! I also highly recommend the Soapwalla deodorant cream which work well all year long and lasts for many months!

I started shopping at Follain about a year ago and started with their facial oils. I was immediately happy with the results and don’t plan on going back to other moisturizers. I recently bought a toner, shampoo and mask and absolutely love the results too. Their staff is always friendly and I love that you can browse and relax. I suggest getting samples or travel sizes if you’re new.

I’ve only been in here once so far, but I can’t wait to return. The owner, Tara, was not there when I stopped in, but the two ladies who were working were extremely friendly and helpful.
I bought an Ilia lipstick and the Soapwalla deodorant, and I’m very pleased with both purchases after many uses. I will definitely return soon to try (and buy) more products, particularly their soaps. I love the idea that they make their own in-​house soaps and even poll their customers to determine what each month’s scent (s) will be– so cool!
The atmosphere of the shop is very light and airy– such a relaxing experience. I could’ve easily spent an hour or two in there wandering around trying everything.
I’m so glad this place exists. I wish more companies were going the natural, plant-​based route, but until they do, I will continue to appreciate Follain for the hidden gem that it is.

This store is beautiful inside and out. Everyone there is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. All of the products are love-​filled, effective products and not at all overly expensive. And, if they are expensive, they are expensive for a reason. They clearly choose the best natural luxury items not the trendiest, money-​making options. I am overjoyed this store exists!

I adore this place. Every product has been researched and vetted, and they are able to offer intelligent opinions on what you should try based on your skin type. It’s the epitome of natural luxe. One thing in particular I appreciated is that the owner Tara had samples of the Dr. Alkaitis eye cream that I could try before I bought it. I’d been having issues with skin reactions to eye creams, and I didn’t want to plunk down the cash if it was just going to give me a rash. Of course it was absolutely brilliant, and I went back to purchase it! I love how they spend time helping each customer, like we’re all special snowflakes! If you’re looking to upgrade your beauty and skincare, you owe it to yourself to check out Follain.

This is the best business to open in Boston in a long time. The service can’t be better (incredibly insightful and pleasant), they have a diverse product offering (from not-​so-​expensive to very expensive) and the experience is wonderful. A must if you are in Boston and you care about your long term health

Looks like they have added the full ILIA lipstick colors line — so definitely an improvement! ILIA is not available anywhere else in the vicinity in Massachusetts, so it was nice to try the lip colors in person.

I love the idea of an organic store. I suffer from eczema and allergies so I am trying to switch to more natural products. However Follain did not have an extensive enough cosmetics variety to choose from. The makeup brands stocked (RMS, Jane I, Ilia) carry waaay more products online. And there are many other brands of organic cosmetics (ex. W3ll, Vapour) that could be offered. The place smelled nice and was clean, which is a plus. But there was definitely more lotions and skin care products than there was makeup. So, a bit disappointed.
Also, one of the staff helped me out (not the owner) and she tried to sell me on some cosmetics products that I tried on and were not working for me, by referring to much younger celebrities that use it instead of recommending products based on my needs. Staff should be better trained.

Loved the experience of going here and everyone last one of the products I bought, both skincare and makeup. The RMS makeup is the best ever and Tara was super helpful picking out colors and teaching me how to use it.

Follain offers the perfect selection of natural beauty products — I am so obsessed with the shamanuti toner, I would recommend it to anyone. The store is gorgeous and the owner Tara is warm, friendly, and happy to show you around without being pushy. A great addition to the south end!

A wonderful new and unique boutique in the South End. I absolutely adore the products that Tara (the owner) has hand selected. I’ve spent a lot of time speaking to her about why it is important to buy green products over store-​bought brands. Whether you’re buying a gift for yourself or for a friend — Tara has great insight on all of the ingredients and will help you find the perfect products. I love the natural deodorant by Soapwalla, Jane Iredale mascara in slate grey and the RMS lip gloss that both heals chapped lips and adds a rockin’ look. When you visit Follian, you are not only going in to shop — you will also learn the importance of using green products to stay healthy and beautiful.

I love this shop and all it stands for. It’s a great spot.

Had to write review of this place becuase the owner is a fine business woman with a wonderful attitude towards health and skin care products. I swore by Sephora and used all that crap on my face for years but after a very UNSALES pitch was convinced that it was time to return my junk and start using natural products.
The owner works alone in the store but has a public health graduate who works 2 days a week advocating for natural products which don’t have cancer causing pore clogging crap that the FDA doesn’t regulate. As a public health student myself I appreciate greatly this approach.
The price isn’t even that outrageous (same as Tarte brand for instance)– around 28 for a foundation which lasts a long time and 35 for a bronzer that will last months. I bought some amazing face wash with charcoal in it and after one use am already in love.
I’d say just keep in mind your «privlege» as you shop here; it’s not the norm to be able to buy nice, BPA and crap free products so it is great this is an option but hopefully it can expand to shelves more reasonable for the majority of Americans. This place is in the nicest, fanciets neighborhood in Boston which is not sheer coincidence; but none the less it is about SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESS PEOPLE who BELIEVE in their PRODUCTS and actually CARE ABOUT THE HEALTH OF WOMEN.
A must go. Even just to try some samples if not to fully purchase (yet).

I am so happy Follain opened up right around where I live. Since going there, I have purchased a facial cleanser, toner, moisturizer, soap, lotion and lip gloss. I can see the difference in my face! Moreover, I love how the products feel on my skin. I love all of her products and walking in the store is a very pleasant experience. The owner is so helpful, kind and thoughtful. Sure the prices are high, but its great stuff. I have to resist getting more things in there, but I am sure I will make many more purchases in the future.
So happy this opened in the South End! About time a thoughtful and natural boutique opens up like this!!!

I came in this weekend with a good friend who raved about this place and suggested we visit, since we are both health-​conscious but enjoy a good-​quality make-​up/​skincare product. I indulged just a bit – and am fantasizing about coming back for more.

A friend of mine visited this place first. She was so wowed that she sent out a FB message to all her local friends. So… once I moved to the neighborhood, I moseyed over to check it out. And then I, too, was wowed.
The store owner, Tara, is incredibly passionate about her products. She shared that she spent the past 5 years researching and creating a portfolio before opening the store 2 months ago. You can tell she knows everything about all of it. It’s a pretty incredible experience to have her there guiding you.
And the most amazing thing of all is that there are no chemicals in these products. It makes perfect sense. Why would I ever again put chemicals all over my largest organ, the skin? I can thank Follain and Tara for opening my eyes.
And my face has never felt better, FYI!

So while hunting for a local vendor for SW Basics I stumbled across this little gem. My skin in super sensitive and after years of expensive dermatologists and estheticians I have come to realize the less crazy chemicals I lay on my skin the happier it is.
Everything in the shop is made in the USA, contains no artificial fragrance and is all natural. The place reminds my of a vintage apothecary shop (which is really nice) and Tara, the owner, was super friendly and helpful, giving me suggestions and input on product lines.

I’m a product junkie. I frequent Sephora like some frequent a coffee shop. I returned from Paris this year with an entire bag full of face products worth over 150£. I’ve turned in my eyeshadow and lipstick for sunscreen and moisturizer. Basically, I’ve outgrown my youth, and entered adulthood. And like a friend of mine recently stated, all you need in life are good underwear, nice skin, and beautiful fragrance. C’est vrai.
I strolled into Follain on a weekday after work. My friend had sent me after hearing about the store in a local magazine, knowing I would love everything about it, and yes, yes I sure did. The shop owner, Tara, was super friendly and talkative. We shared the same undying love for clay masks, local products, lavender, and all things related to natural skin-​care. She had so many amazing products that I wanted to purchase – I could go crazy in this store. With rows of masks, lotions, tonics, moisturizers, cleansers… it’s just. incredible. Things I’ve never seen before at Whole Foods, Barneys, Saks… this gal knows her stuff. Plus, it’s all made in the US, and she’s got vats of local soap that you can refill like a beer keg, encouraging customers to not waste plastic, and use her beautiful bottles…(hello gifting season!) I could see Tara whipping out some incredible gift baskets around the holidays, too. (hint hint)
So finally! A store in Boston, or maybe even in the entire world…(because I’ve never seen something this cute) that carries all the products I’ve ever wanted/​dreamed of. And the space itself. I’m just, ready to move in.
