Frost Ice Loft

This was something cool to experience but probably wouldnt do it again. It may have been more fun if I went with a large group of friends. It was just me and my friend who was visiting from PA and for the majority of the time we were the only ones in there. As expected it was VERY cold, only enjoyable for 1 – 2 drinks. You have to pay to get in and then the drinks are overpriced as well. You also have to pay an additional $ 2 if you want the «ice cup».
They do provide you with parkas and gloves to stay warm. The décor inside the ice bar is nice and presents some interesting photo ops. If I was you would I try it once? Yes. Would I go a second time? Probably not.

Horrible customer service! We went in with a LivingSocial deal that they wouldn’t honor since it was the weekend. That would have been fine with us, and we would have paid to go in except the manager was so rude to us. We would have been fine with the situation if she and the rest of the staff were apologetic and nice. But the manager was rude and basically talked down to us and said she couldn’t help us and to contact LivingSocial with complaints. I’m sorry but it’s your bar that we are at, and that shouldn’t be how you speak or handle your customers. Horrible!

This place is one of many tourist traps found near Quincy Market. It is done quite well but the price definitely takes away from the experience. I’d suggest spending your money on a normal bar where drinks are reasonable and you don’t need a fur coat to relax.

Drinks is really plain, servers was ok, management suck, they dont due anything .i would never go back. This business everthing is about keeping customers happy

This place is so… COOL!!! I’m so glad I was forced to check it out by my brother! Not only did we receive a $ 14 discount on our admission (it only cost us $ 10 to get in after my birthday discount and his military discount) but the whole experience was amazing. The drinks were DELICIOUS, a little expensive, but we got to keep the shot glasses (shooters were $ 8.00) and his Yetti Blood ($ 12) was even served in a glass made entirely of ice! Between the atmosphere, ceativeness of the space, and my overly positive attitude, it was a great birthday experience.

This place is a room, not a bar. It’s tiny with a low ceiling. When we went on a Friday night there were about 5 people. They interrupt your conversations to take photos, which they then try to charge you $ 40 for. It’s not a terrible experience but the place is so tiny it gets old pretty quick. They advertised this sweet ice loft space when in reality it’s just small, cold, with weak ice sculptures. I would not recommend anyone to go there.

fun little bar. liked the concept, wasnt too crowded during valentines day weekend, prob cuz it was snowing out.

Overall: It’s a cool experience but definitely pricey and kind of not worth it.
Location: It’s located in a touristy area so parking is super expensive.
Experience: It’s a fun experience. You cant stay in the bar too long because it’s just too cold. We stayed for probably about 30 minutes tops. They have extra things to purchase to keep you warm before you enter the room, but Imsure they’re pricey. However, they do let you wear a complimentary parka and gloves while youre in the bar. As soon as you enter the bar they take a picture of you. They dont give you many options when you buy the picture though. You have to buy the package and there’s no option for a single picture. They have a small drink menu to choose from. I got the Yeti’s blood and it was pretty good. They charge extra if you want to drink it out of a glass made of ice. Again, it’s a cool idea, but not really worth the money. The room has a cool design and the sculpures are cute. They had the grinch and a minion along with a few others. Definitely an interesting experience, but I wouldn’t pay to go again unless Im with a big group of friends and we’ve warmed up at happy hour already.

I would say this is a place where you come for the experience, not for the drinks. It’s fun to get dressed up in the ponchos and gloves they provide you and walk into a room set to 21 degrees, with just about everything within the room made of ice (sculptures, benches, the bar, glasses). The concept is really neat and I do think it’s fun for a one time thing. $ 12 admission fee to enter is a bit pricey, as you really only can stay in for 20 – 30 minutes before the cold becomes unbearable. The drinks are overpriced as they are upwards of $ 12 for a not so delicious mixed drink– and you have to pay extra for the experience of having your drink served to you in an ice glass. I went with a large group (20 of us) and it was fun to experience but I probably won’t come back again.

The space looks a lot bigger in pictures than it does in real life, which was a bit disappointing. In actuality it’s only about the size of a small classroom, and there are maybe 5 or 6 ice sculpture there. That being said, it’s pretty cold so it’s not as though you’d want to spend more than an hour there anyway.
Three stars because It’s still fun/​a good experience if you’re with good company.

This place was pretty cool. I’m not sure what possessed me to go in January, but I had to check it out. The staff is really friendly, and despite spending 8 hours a day in a freezer the bartender is cool too. There’s a $ 12 cover charge ($ 10 for students and military) and they take payment for drinks in advance at the door. I assume this is to allow people to keep their gloves on while inside. We were told ahead of time not to lick the ice (I guess this is a problem) and there is a three drink minimum.
Before going inside, they give you a cape and gloves. They also take a photo upon entering which you can buy for $ 30 (not including a digital copy). It’s a huge rip off, but my friend bought it anyway. The inside is pretty roomy with several benches and couch like ice sculptures for you to sit on. They have blankets on the seating to avoid melting it and to minimize how cold your butt gets.
The drinks are ok… The Long Island Iced Tea I had was pretty weak, but they served it in an ice glass for an extra $ 2. For 3 Long Island Iced Teas and 1 rum and coke, it came to $ 50 which wouldn’t be bad if it was a larger glass and a bit stronger.
Overall, it was really cool but I wouldn’t do it again. Definitely something you should stop by if you are a tourist, just don’t buy the $ 30 picture.

Overpriced? Yes. Tourist trap? Yes.
Do I need to go again? No. But was it worth going? ABSOLUTELY.
Feel like doing something new and different? This is a great outing with some friends or family members before dinner in the city. The ice sculptures were impressive, drinks fun, and the novelty of the entire experience was exciting.

Good first experience at an ice bar. Came during late afternoon and no wait. They give you a cape and gloves to help with the cold but honestly 30 minutes in and that was long enough. You pay for they experience mostly, and get pictures taken. Drinks are ok. The only special part of it were the ice molded cups.

One of the funnest things I have ever done in Boston! Only reason I could not give it 5 stars was because it’s super expensive, so be prepared to break the bank. Overall an awesome experience and the drinks are strong so paying $ 16 a drink is not the worst thing in the world. Ice glasses are great and you get to smash them at the end! We had an awesome time and will absolutely be back!

Ok, 4 stars for the fun theme and the nice lady that checked us in. Brought the kids and had a good time! My little one actually thought this bar was created for Elsa and Anna ;) Lots of pics. I definetely think it’s an experience worth trying out.
Have to say though my drink was terrible! It was blackberry something. The bartender talked us into ice glasses ($ 2. extra each) because she said the kids could smash them to pieces on the way out. We were for some reason picturing a place to do this but it was just a garbage can. I threw the glass in w all my might but it didn’t break, lol. You should definetely opt for the plastic theme glass it comes with that you can take home instead.

First off, I’m not a fan of paying a cover charge at any bar but I had friends visiting and I decided to suck it up for this one trip around Boston. It’s $ 12 to get in, $ 10 with a student ID.
So the atmosphere is great. Everyone is dressed in the same coat and they give you gloves to wear. The room is small but there are different ice sculptures to take pictures with and of course all of the seats are made of ice. So in terms of the $ 12 you pay to get in, I suppose you’re paying for the fact they need to keep the temperature at 20 degrees to keep things from melting. I’m sure the AC bill is pretty ridiculous.
I had a gin and tonic in a glass that was made of ice. It was pretty cool and tasted like a gin and tonic. No issues from there. We also had a shooter which was alright, nothing to write home about and I had a beer. This is my one issue, the choice of beer is small. The only beers they offer are Harpoon beers which I enjoy but it would be nice to have had more of a variety to choose from.
IF Frost Ice Bar ever reads this, this is my recommendation to you. When I was in Ireland there were a number of bars that served beers in taps that were ice cold to the point that the actual taps felt frozen. If possible, implement that into your bar. It would be a nice touch for an ice cold draft beer in the ice bar.
I think beers were like $ 6.

Frost Ice Bar is more «Experience» than «Bar.» It’s worth checking out once to experience all the ice, and maybe order a cocktail while you are there, but this isn’t the type of bar you would expect to hang out in for the night.
The room itself is on the small side, but people don’t seem to stay long. We stayed roughly 45 minutes, which is long enough to see the ice sculptures, take some pictures, and feel satisfied for the admission fee. A parka and gloves are included, but your female friends may need to rent ($ 6) UGG boots if they weren’t prepared for a 21 degree room.
The drinks ($ 11) were OK, I don’t remember what I ordered but nothing stood out as exceptional. All the drinks were premixed and simply poured upon request.
The bottom line is the Frost Ice Bar is an experience worth checking out; however, you’re going to feel a little like a sucker by the tourist trappyness of it all and you’ll enjoy it anyway.

This place would be fun for out of country tourists or the easily amused. I expected more out of this and would not recommend to American tourists. It looks cool, our pictures that we took looked cool, but its just a tiny bar made out of ice (except the floor, its metal), crappy drinks, and you can only last no more than 40 minutes in there. We did the duck tour and got a discount of $ 10 per person for this bar.
It’s Boston theme, the whole set up is to hype you up before you enter. Once you check in, they start your tab and print a receipt with a barcode which you will have to wear it in a plastic lanyard they give you (makes it easier to pay for the drinks). They give you gloves and a cape/​coat thing to wear over your outfit. After getting ready, they take you into the preparation room to get your body ready for the 20 degrees F temperature while watching a video about what not to do. Get in, a photographer takes your photo, you order your drinks, down it as fast as you can, take silly pictures, then leave. Most groups last no more than 15 minutes. My boyfriend and I lasted 30 minutes, then we gave up and left. Really not much you can do in there. Drinks were another $ 11 each, premade, and not that good. There’s a menu with about 10 drinks to choose from.
The workers were nice. The photos taken by the photographer cost $ 30. Unless your currency is stronger than dollar, not worth it.
Advice: wear pants, sweater, and closed toe shoes, if you want to last more than 15 minutes.
