History

Established in 2010.

Gaude and Gold may have been established in 2010 however, the company is comprised of artist that have decades of combined experience. After twelve years of exceptional salon service Calvina Strothers, proprietor of Gaude and Gold set out to accomplish industry success on A larger scale. After researching alternative «behind the chair» possibilities she was inspired to create what is now Gaude and Gold. And after traveling, to work in many cities nationwide Calvina recognized that Boston was deficient in a lot of beauty industry tools as most people in her area traveled to New york when in search of beauty tips and trends information and it is now her goal to put Boston on the map as a beauty go to place.

Calvina Strothers, proprietor of Gaude and Gold began as a stylist, twelve years ago, on the cobble stone road of the street some refer to as the Rodeo drive of Boston, Newbury street! After rapidly making a name for herself in the Boston area as a master– hairstylist Calvina moved to Atlanta, GA where she learned and mastered different hair extension techniques. And after a brief stay in Atlanta she returned back to her Newbury street roots with more knowledge and a different perspective of the beauty industry that she hones to this very day. Hair is her passion;she is especially intrigued by the fashion forward-​avant garde style .But, no matter how outlandish the style is she believes that maintaining the hairs integrity and promoting hair growth is the most important aspect of being a hairstylist. She now has taken the components and fundamentals that she acquired as stylist and incorporated them into her new found passion as a make-​up artist which she has mastered throughout the years
