Geekz n The Hood

They are not geeks they are just plain ol HOOD!!! I just called them to asked a question about if they buy back or sell printers & laptops that I fixed and also updated myself this «Muskrat! of a geek» does not let me finish my short sentence when I asked him for some perhaps info of him knowing about a place that does buy back products he just assumes what he thinks he knows instead of telling me «No ma’am sorry I don’t know, try looking online thank you for calling Geek N Hood sorry I couldnt help» These young men feel good about themselves trying to manipulate or belittling others Blacks by making themselves feel like they’re smarter when they Definitely! R NOT! at all they are Rude, Disrespectful, Pretentious young men. HEY! you need your computer laptop done contact me I’m your girl!

Absolutely the worst customer service that I have ever experienced! The owner or whoever he was acted as if it was an insult to even ask any questions. needless to say I did not give him my service. Just because you may be situated in an open area does not give you the right to treat me as if I am less than you. I will not be talked down to or disrespected and then give you my money! To top it all off he acted as if he wanted to fight me because I said that it was bad customer service. He did not know that he was going to get f’d up that day! F him and all of his siblings!

Geekz ‘n the hood ROCKS!!! My MacBook Pro suddenly stopped charging. I went to the Mac store to see what was wrong with the battery. The took it in the back to open and check it out. They told me that it looked like there was water damage at some point because some of the parts are corroded. They said because there was evidence of water damage, they only thing they can do is send it out to have a technichian go through every part and replace whatever part that is needed. My applecare just expired ⁰⁵⁄₂₀₁₃. So, the cost $ 789.00!!! REALLY!!! For a few hundred bucks more, I could get a new one!!! I decided to call my computer guy for his opinion (Geekz ‘n the Hood). Dwayne usually takes care of my computer upgrades and program installations. I TRUST HIS OPINION!!! Roxbury is not to close to me living in Chelsea, Ma, but worth the trip! He told me to bring it in for him to see. To make a long story short, I took the computer in on a Wednesday, Thursday he calls me with a diagnosis & price, and Friday it was ready for pick-​up!!! My MacBook Pro only had the mainboard & touch pad replaced for a fraction of the price the Mac Store was going to charge me for a «refurbish». I only paid for what I needed, and I got it back right away! So NO sending it out anywhere!!!

Great place to have a computer fixed. They know their stuff here and helped us out twice in the past with a MacBook and MacBook Pro. Although one of the times, it was a problem not worth fixing — and other people confirmed this — he could have easily charged us, fixed it and not said a word. Their honesty is a huge plus!
As in all my other reviews I will add that I love supporting local small business and can do that without qualm here!
Update — Jan. 2014 I brought my MacBook Pro in after 7 months in the laptop graveyard that is my bookcase. Apple told me they could probably fix it for $ 750 plus tax but weren’t sure and I’d have to send it out so I assumed it was a goner. Geekz in the Hood fixed it for a fraction of the price in 3 days.
Then I brought in the really junky one I’d been getting by on and they updated everything and replaced the battery unit so its running great! Went from 1 very questionable computer back to a work and personal computer in less than a week!

AWESOME! I brought my laptop into the shop because of a cracked LCD screen. I was given a very fair price and turnaround was great, considering the replacement parts had to be ordered. I brought it in on Monday afternoon, and picked it up Thursday. Not only was service affordable and quick, the staff is very polite, professional, and knowledgeable! I felt comfortable doing business with them, and I felt like a respected customer rather than a walking dollar sign. I’m glad they’re in the area. :-)

Very Helpful, Polite and Knowlegable. Took in my 17″ Mac Laptop with a Broken Screen and out of warranty. He Ordered the Part and fixed it with no problem. Highly recommend.

Bless their hearts for not making me feel like a total idiot… my laptop stopped working and I did everything within my power to fix it (admittedly my tech skills are less than impressive and yelling at it is not as effective as one would like) and the gentleman at Geekz had it up and running in two minutes. Would absolutely recommend them and use them again.

Both our ipods had the headphone jack poop out on them, and Apple is asking ridiculous amounts of money to fix them (like $ 150 or something). This place fixed both of ours for less than $ 100. In a day. Actually, we probably could have waited and he would have fixed them right then. They also do computer and gaming systems repair. Friendly, affordable, EXCELLENT service. HIGHLY recommended. Right in Dudley Sq across from the library.
