Specialties

Why are we different? Our location, in the center of Boston’s Financial District, means convenience to the downtown professional. We’re steps from your office. 1) Our jewelry is truly unique. We offer our own original designs, as well as selected designer closeouts at favorable prices! Our jewelry is chosen with wearability in mind, and complements the professional/casual wardrobe beautifully. 2) Talented custom design service; capable of «clean sheet of paper» creativity (not a catalog or computer) and the communication skills to bring your project to a happy ending; on time and on budget. 3) Professional appraisal services by a Graduate Gemologist, including services to the legal profession. 4) «Gemquest” — Karen will find the gem of your dreams on her buying trips– a very popular and successful program. 5) Our gallery offers a selection of fine American crafts in many mediums. A great resource for fine gifts.

History

Established in 1983.

Harper & Faye Jewelers was established in 1983 to cater to the needs of Boston’s Financial District clientele. The idea — though innovative at a time when malls ruled the Earth — was simple: Make it convenient for downtown professionals to shop where they work, and they will do so. And if you exceed their expectations, they will shop again. This was no small feat, given the sophistication and financial savvy of this type of customer. Don’t work downtown? You can still shop with us: We offer a robust website and also are available for design consults by appointment.

Meet the Business Owner

Karen N.

Business Owner

Karen has an unusual background for a jewelry designer. Having come from a military family; she had the opportunity to see the world while growing up. Her first job was at age 13, in an antique jewelry shop. At 17, she came to Boston to attend MIT; earning a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. She operated «The Silver Spoon» selling antiques to help pay for college; and liked it so much she opened Harper & Faye in 1983. Karen has traveled extensively anywhere there are mountains, as she is an avid hiker. She lives with her husband Steve, their three Italian greyhounds, Rocky, Sissy and Spike, and their cat Mufasa.
