Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Boston Garden

Doesn’t look like much from outside but its more than adequate inside. Great location and amazing staff, very accommodating ! Nice shower and good breakfast included. I would definitely come back :)

I stayed at this little Holiday Inn Express while in town for work over by Boston Common and what a nice little hotel this is. The facilities are great, the location is fantastic and the staff was very friendly.
My room was very high priced but I think that may just be Boston. The rooms also aren’t overly large but I was alone. My biggest complaint is the elevators are so ridiculously slow. They need to be updated. Other than that, if you want to spend time in downtown boston, this is a great place to base your operations.

No parking in the area as with most city areas. The price is pretty steep to park but you’re not left with much choice. (Around $ 43.00) You pull up and they will valet you. The valet staff although nice seemed confused at times and it takes 20 – 25 minutes to get your car back. The entrance looks more like a Starbucks or mailing outlet then the front of a hotel. Once inside it doesn’t get much better. Dated furnishing and elevators. Take the stairs but be careful one of them leads you out a side door and you will have to walk around the block to get back to the hotel.
The front desk staff was very accommodating, they tagged and let me leave my bags because I arrived early and my room was not ready. They have a small shop and offer some sort of breakfast in the morning which I skipped.
The room itself was very big, good beds and bathrooms. Shotime and local sports on tv. There was a window in my room but the view was to a box alley filled with liter and urine. I closed the shade. The rooms have coffee, mini fridges and microwaves.
The area outside was filled with Sports Bars and restaurants. Be wise if you’re leaving the Arena and are a fan of the opposing team. Boston fans are known for their love of drinking but also for weak tolerances and they tend to get rowdy.
I would stay again because of the convenience of what I was there for (TD Garden) but it certainly is on the low end of the Hotel experience.

The good stuff: Very convenient location of you have tickets to TD Garden… literally right across the street. Staff was friendly. Stay includes big breakfast. Walking distance to many Boston highlights.
The not-​so-​good stuff: This hotel needs some TLC from the chain’s execs. Lumpy pillows and sagging mattress. Strange that windows open all of the way… not safe for families with small children. Kitchenette cupboards were peeling. Very noisy streets. Extremely slow wifi. Parking was an additional $ 40+ per night. Dirty towels removed from room first day, but no fresh towels were left for second.

two stars because rooms were clean and small but satisfying for the location. Note to Business travelers. just don’t stay here when the garden has an event. bar noise all night for sure. also parking is horribly inconvenient, the valets are never around and when you pull up you think there’s no lot for your car or to pull over, so you waste another 10′ driving around the block to find a curb to illegally park on. nothank you!

The location of this hotel was perfect. It’s close to the Amtrak, the T station and walking distance to almost everything in the north end.
The service was pleasant and polite. Reservations and check in were very easy. They made sure to give out to wifi password and an extra room key. They were very quick to send some up when the toilet didn’t flush well.
The room was single king bed which was very comfortable. You can also control the room temperature which I love (I like it really cold). The blankets were soft and warm. The pillows were a little too soft for my preference but having two was nice. There is a half kitchen in the room with a mini fridge microwave sink and cupboards. The bathroom has a very nice shower which is all tile with lots of room great water pressure and very hot water. They provide all the essential toiletries and offer more at the front desk of you ask. They are all name brand and smell clean and lovely.
The breakfast is not some cheap pastry buffet. There was a pancake machine making fresh hot pancakes. There was a toaster with English muffins bagels and bread. There was bacon sausage and two types of omelettes, one with cheese and the other was western. There was cereal and milk. There was fresh coffee, juice and plenty of condiments. There was also hot cinnamon rolls and fresh muffins.
This is will be my go to hotel for all future Boston adventures. It was a great spot to stay with all the amenities.

I would look elsewhere — even though the property has some positives.
Location — great access to North End, Boston Garden, etc
Staff — attentive, pleasant, helpful
General Manager — someone that doesn’t seem to care about customers, certainly not in creating repeat customers. I had a billing issue — booked a rewards night and was also charged regular retail rate. Mistakes happen — a simple reversal of charges should be all that was required. The staff was unable to complete the transaction — needed managerial assistance — and the GM refused to leave his office that was 5′ from lobby to assist. I waited an hour until another employee could arrive to remedy. His staff attempted to solicit his assistance multiple occasions — and he couldn’t be bothered to help.

This hotel deserves 4 stars simply for its staff and location. Granted, the hotel is old. When I was there the elevators were slow and the rooms were close to the street and noisy but staff was really friendly and I was able to check in early at 10 am. Breakfast was the usual surprisingly had a good amount of fresh fruit and of course sticky cinnamon buns.

The hotel is in need of repair and has a few maintenance issues, BUT… the location is great, and I cannot say enough about the staff! From the front desk to the valet guy, the whole staff goes out of their way to be polite, friendly and very professional. I would stay here again next time I visit Boston.

I have stayed here twice now — the first time was about a year and half ago for two nights while traveling for business and I was really impressed. I had a huge room with big windows overlooking Causeway street and the Boston Garden area.
This time we were originally put into room 304, and to be honest, it was one of the worst hotel rooms I’ve ever been in. All we had were two small windows up near the ceiling and all we could see is the brick wall of the building next to us. With almost no natural light, all we had was the glare of the CFL bulbs in the fixtures. And while the room was clean, it was cramped and had a few issues — the vanity int he bathroom was loose (the whole thing), outlets were limited, and one of the ones most easily accessible was so worn that nothing stayed plugged in. Oh, and the tub didn’t really drain.
If I was just there on business, I would have just let it go, but I used a bunch of points to get the room for a weekend with my wife, and I’m a platinum IHG member so I mentioned something to the front desk and they moved us to the 5^th floor. The move was taken care of by housekeeping and while still not as good as the room I had a year and a half earlier, it was better the the first one we were given. Still small windows, but we could see sky and had more light! And the room was a suite, so we had a couch to sit on and a small fridge to keep water cold.
The staff is super friendly, it is a VERY convenient location for anything at the Garden or in that part of Boston (and close to North Station, and walking distance to the North End and Fanieul Hall), and the rooms are OK — just some are better than others and if you get a good one, it is hard to beat.

I have to give this place five stars because of the location. It’s PERFECT for going to a game or a concert at TD Garden or to be near the T, Faneuil, and the north end. There are so many restaurants and bars in the areas so it’s pretty easy to walk out of the hotel without directions or a place in mind and walk a minute or two and already have 2 – 3 options. Other than that, the hotel service has been great both times we stayed there and the valet is quick and painless as far as parking in Boston goes. I plan to choose this hotel every time I visit. It’s in a safe area, next to TD Garden and restaurants, and it’s close to the T… You can’t go wrong.

My friend and I stayed at the express for 3 nights. The location was great being that it was only a block from the nearest T station and plenty of places to eat. The concierge always came THRU with directions for which line to get on and which stop to get off. The staff was very generous in our comfort ability, occasionally COMING THRU with chips, beef jerky and gatorades. You thirsty? They have complimentary ice cold cucumber water in the lobby. Sure the elevators smelled like asshole, but whatever. We can’t have everything. The cleaning service even took the time to clean our fucked up rooms. Thank you Rosaline (probably not her real name.)
The rooms were very cute & comfortable, we luckily had the front view of the hotel so we could see the authentic streets of Boston (only Friends st). We felt like we were some MOB bitches since all we heard was sirens in the morning and at night, but that did not bother us one bit. If you’re really anal or a light sleeper then do not stay in DOWN TOWN WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?!
Breakfast is obv complimentary and small but some of it tasted like asshole no offense. The only thing I could probably eat was the bacon, sausage and yogurt. It was at least something to get by so didn’t mind at all.
Holla at Duke (night auditor I think) and Lakeisha, they’re HILARIOUS and make you feel like FAMILY!
If you ain’t got no toothbrush come THRU. Duke hooks it up. Just don’t come to his «house» (HOTEL) at 3 am. You should be in bed by 9 (He cares for you like a true father).
Ever forget your shoes when you have a job interview? Don’t worry. Keisha knows the store hours and the way to TJMaxx. She was a huge help to us and thankfully we made it to the interview on time!
Overall the we enjoyed our stay and their company! Hopefully we get to see their beautiful faces sooner or later!

It is walking distance and there will be a scarf boy that will wrap his warm scarf while you’re fucking dancing he comes thru tho. You’ll also be presented with a handshake. DONT DO IT. Unless you want to be harassed all night by men in scarves dancing to Macklemore and Kesha.
If you’re a bad dancer, this is the place to be bc none of these white people can dance for shit, this is the place to let loose and get crazy.

Wife and I Looked for a place in Boston so we could walk to the places we wanted to go. The staff was helpful & courteous. Room larger than I expected and CLEAN. Electric outlet right next to bed & easy to reach. Stored my suitcase as we arrived about 11am and room was not ready. Car parking fee for Sunday 11am to Monday at 1pm was I think $ 19.50, for Boston about the normal rate. They stored my luggage again at checkout to take advantage of the parking until 1pm. There is no «view» except a street or alley at this hotel so if you want a view, go somewhere else. $ 159 for the night and glad I found it. Carpet in main hallways need to be replaced but that was the one down side. Good decent choices for breakfast included. Thumbs up!

Great location to the Garden, North End and Charlestown. Train station across the street for all other parts of Boston.
Front Desk staff was very polite and very helpful. They have a concierge that can help you plan your day.

This hotel is located directly across from the TD Garden. Walking distance to Faneuil Hall, North End, a block to the train, and various bars and night clubs if you’re into that sort of thing.
Check in was a little difficult as we checked in around 4pm and the front desk clerk had no idea which rooms were cleaned and had to use a walkie talkie to check with the cleaning staff to see where we’d be able to stay. This took a few minutes which is a little annoying especially where their check out time is at 11am which would have left ample time for the cleaning staff to make their rounds.
After checking in we then went to grab the elevator which was painfully slow. The wait for the elevator is significantly longer if it’s during the complimentary breakfast time as well. We ended up staying at the top floor which was a bit of a hike via stairs. I will say the breakfast offerings were pretty tasty and seemed fresh. There were abundant offerings which were replenished frequently. The staff were very nice and the complimentary citrus water in the lobby was also a nice touch.
The room was large and comfortable. Modern amenities were available and even had USB charge ports for the phone/​Ipad. Free wifi was a great feature as well. We stayed on an off night with nothing going on at the Garden so the fee for the room was really reasonable. I would definitely stay again, i’d probably just ask for a room lower down so i can opt for the stairs.

Great location for an event at TD Garden. Breakfast was fantastic. If you arrive in the dark, don’t be discouraged from going out by the look of the neighborhood, there are plenty of nice bars very close.
Skip the valet and park yourself in the Government Center parking ramp (as long as they allow overnight parking); the valet just brings your car there anyway.

At check in we were told the hotel was working to boost its ratings online so we have been treated like kings all day. Thank You notes for staying were presented at check in and in our room, we were given bottled water and candy as well as fruit in the room for being Priority Members and Amy, at the front desk, was a pleasure assisting with our bags to helping us find the most «baby friendly» activities in the city.
The only thing preventing a five start review was the size of our room. Because infants require so much stuff event for the shortest of trips we were a little cramped.

Booked this hotel two days before getting to Boston at a decent rate of ($ 213/​night — weekend before July 4^th).
Arrived right at check in and was told that we would be getting an upgrade from having two queen beds to a king bed suite (with kitchenette) since one of their rooms had been destroyed due to unruly patrons the week before — AWESOME!
The room was nice and roomy for 5 people and the kitchenette had a sink, microwave & refrigerator with some disposable utensils. The king bed was comfortable and had no problems with the pullout couch. The bathroom was a decent size. Clean except for the MINOR MINOR stain on the bath tub floor.
There was a good water pressure in the shower, the A/​C worked well and overall no noise complaints (saw that many people here complained about noise but it didn’t affect us since we were moreso located towards the inner part of the hotel). There was free breakfast which is decent — it’s a free meal you don’t have to worry about so no complaining there! There’s Free WiFi which is pretty fast as well.
The selling point of this for me was the GREAT LOCATION! 10 minute walk from Quincy Market/​10 minute walk from the North End and if you’re feeling ambitious, it’s a comfortable 20 – 25 minute walk over to Back Bay. 5 minute walk to the subway (?) station and just across the street from the TD Garden.
Definitely would suggest this hotel if you need a place to crash! I’d come back and stay here again.

Staying in Holiday Inn Express Boston Garden is just so convenient. Walking distance to most of the tourist attractions! And just 2 minute walk from North Station to both Green and Orange line!
Bars, restaurants, coffee shops and more all close enough to walk to… I don’t even need to hop on the T when I stay here most of the time.
I guess I was lucky or unlucky to miss all the night action and the rowdy crowds since no games were on during my stay… the area was just so quiet… too quiet? :)
The hotel though a little bit dated and in need of renovation but at least everything is clean and functioning well.
Free daily breakfast in the lobby… I have not take advantage of as I am not into breakfast and I rather have a good cup of Americano just up the street at Equal Exchange Café.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again next time when I am in town, as long as the price is right!
Free WIFI with password worked perfectly during my stay… I am a happy camper!!!

Checked in to room 217 and it was terrible: the ceiling was leaking and at a couple of places black stains of mold (each as large as a dining plate and, yes, all wet) were staring at me above the bed (photos uploaded).
Contacted the front desk a couple of times and the response was to wait for the maintenance person to come up in an hour. Asked an agent at
for help and when she called the front desk, she was told that «because it rained yesterday!» How does the rain leak to the second floor of the six floor building, and how does the mold grow so quickly in a day?
I was feeling sick from the mold and requested changing to Park Plaza Hotel. If I will be sick for an extended period of time, I would request a compensation from this hotel. How come the hotel does not notice this leak — it must have been there for days — and does not recognize the health risk of the mold?
I would sincerely hope that Holiday Inn does not endorse such a neglect of the health safety of the guests.
Update (¹¹⁄₂₀₁₁): received a response from the hotel management that «the dust in the ceilings and walls created with the condensation dripping off the pipes caused some not so nice colored water to leak through the ceiling,» «no mold issue was uncovered or found,» «but it was something out of our control.» This reminds me the airlines!
