Insomnia Cookies

My husband and I tried the ice cream sandwich here — it’s good, but nothing special. It’s a little on the expensive side. It was good to have on a hot day though!

We first stopped in a few weeks ago after a game and my daughter wanted ice cream. It was a simple but unique treat and the staff was really friendly. On that visit it would have been 5 stars. Last night we were in Boston and my daughter asked if we could go. It was 20 minutes out of the way but she really liked it so we went. The woman behind the counter was being incredibly rude to the two middle eastern kids in front of us. She got their order wrong and got mad at them for pointing it out. She was tired and possibly hungry as the other woman came in with a bag of tasty burger and tossed it on the counter and started eating. The woman serving the to kids turned to us and in a tone full of distain as if we shouldn’t be there asked what we wanted. My. daughter ordered and she looked at me and asked «anything else» in a «don’t waste my time» tone. I was ready to tell her off and walk out but my daughter really liked it so I just said «nothing else». She looked at me and in the same tone and bug eye expression repeated the question. I responded changing MY tone to «lose the attitude» and said «nothing else…» she flipped the switch and started in. with calling the middle eastern kids «honey» and being generally courteous. Honestly too late my book. They charge too much for baked frozen cookie dough for a side of attitude. It was a hot day and it was late. I’m sure she was tired. No excuse. Save that attitude for outside. I probably will talk my kids into a different place next time. It was low class behavoir.

Warm fresh cookies from a small quiet spot on Comm Ave. Great for a late night snack hence the name Insomnia. Definitely need like 200 cookies next time I go. Great flavors and nice and buttery and soft definitely worth a try if you’re in the mood for something sweet. Didn’t try the ice cream but I imagine it’s even better paired with a cookie or two, or a brownie. Prices could be a little better ($ 1.60 for a small $ 3.20 for the bigger ones), but once you start eating you forget about the price anyways and you’ll probably go back for a second and a third. Definitely worth a late night trip, or midday trip, really an anytime trip if you love good cookies

Ok, there’s no denying that the cookies are fucking delicious.
Buttttt, they’re overpriced. And they’re usually sold out. Or in the process of being baked. Or some shit that would prevent you from being able to get the cookies in that present moment.
The staff is also extremely irritable which I don’t really get because if I was around those cookies all day I’d be happy af.

First time here and I ordered 2 snickerdoodle and a mint chocolate chip cookie. I also had a scoop of the moose tracks icecream. I don’t understand why the line is so long for this place. Everything tasted average. The main reason I’m giving a low review is because the customer service. The two women in the front were unwelcoming and quick to be angry if I asked questions or wanted to add another cookie to my order. Icecream/​cookie shops are suppose to be a happy and welcoming place. However they’re open late, so I’ll give them that.

Insomnia cookies are definitely a great midnight snack (won’t help you with your insomnia though lol). Their cookies are good and not too pricey (a traditional Cookie is 1.60 while deluxe is 3.60-which I think should be a little cheaper). Service is ok but not great (thus the 3 stars). Although I wish I splurged a little and got the cookiewich, however, I really did enjoy the chocolate chunk with peanut butter cups deluxe cookie (I think that’s what it was called). I went in to buy over the counter. There weren’t any seats in store but they do deliver. The only mistake I made was not eating them right away. After walking in the bipolar Boston weather, my cookies got cold and therefore I didn’t get the experience I wanted when I took a bite of it. I recommend eating it right away or get them delivered! I definitely need to come back to try the fancier ones. I regret not getting a cookiewich and didn’t get the full experience. But the cookies were still really awesome.

I’ve been wanting to come to this place for a while. And tonight was a night well spent. I got there not too late probably around 11:30pm. Which was still pretty late for most places around me. I went in and got the ‘Cookiewich’. As my cookie I chose the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie. It was plentiful with nuts and the white chocolate Chips were plentiful. The cookie wasn’t as warm as I wanted it to be though but at least it wasn’t cold I guess. As for the ice cream I chose Strawberry Cheesecake. I was going to get vanilla but apparently it was to frozen to scoop out. Slightly over priced but still worth it at a total of 5.99. I wasn’t expecting that there wouldn’t be seats though. So we had to take our ice cream on the go. Despite all of this I still give this place three stars because the quality of that ice cream and cookie was amazing. It was even cold outside but I still truly enjoyed my Cookiewich. To be honest I’d probably even go back but maybe next time I’ll just get delivery and ask for my cookie hotter.

Warm, hot, gooey cookies at any time of the day or night. What can be wrong with this?

Cute little cookie shop near Kenmore. There is a wonderfully strong smell of baking cookies as soon as you walk inside, and it only enhances the desire to buy a cookie. Individual cookies are on the expensive side ($ 1.60 for a traditional and $ 3.20 for a deluxe), but they really hit the spot.
I ordered a traditional chocolate chunk cookie, and the cookie came out right away fresh from the oven. It was soft, warm, and chewy, with ample amounts of chocolate chunks. I was well satisfied. Not much space to eat the cookie inside the shop, so best taken to go. They have discounts if you buy multiple cookies (6 for $ 9, 12 for $ 17, 18 for $ 25, and 24 for $ 31).

Absolutely amazing! I first had these cookies while @ U Penn on a college tour. It was reason enough to apply to the school! I later found one in Cambridge and tonight my kids discovered that there’s one on Comm Ave in Boston — and it DELIVERS! We ordered a dozen and, in less than an hour, we had warm, gooey cookies at our front door in Jamaica Plain. Delivery was reasonable — I believe it was $ 6.95 — and we tipped the driver. Too pricey & fattening to do everyday, but as a special treat, so worth it!

This place is perfeeeeect for late night cravings: D. I’ve only been here once but I would definitely come back. Beware: cookie sandwiches are HUGE. I advise to be somewhat hungry or have someone to share the cookie with. I got the super size one but i had my boyfriend to share with, and it was the perfect size. Only thing about this place that i don’t really like is that there are no seats. No need for tables, but no chairs =/

Oh so wonderful! I love that this place is open late (or early, depending on how you look at it). I hate that there are not tables inside the shop though. My roommate and I split an Cookiewich and had to eat it outside. On a bench. In the snow. Totally worth it though. We got Moose Tracks ice cream with a Chocolate Chunk cookie and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookie. It was filling enough, but I went back in for a deluxe cookie — the Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Cup cookie (I think that’s what’s it’s called). I regret nothing.

Finally I have my go-​to late-​night cookie place, and so do you.
The service is friendly and efficient. The staff are knowledgeable, personable and were completely non-​judgmental of me buying myself lots of large, chocolatey cookies, which is KEY in my book.
Ordered a deluxe triple chocolate chunk cookie as well as a chocolate peanut butter cup cookie. They are served warm and can be taken to go in a parchment baggie or a small pizza box (which I opted for).
Eat them the minute you get them! Or the next day! Their buttery texture makes them irresistible. I’ll be a regular here in no time!

After a night out on the town, insomnia cookies is THE place to go. I’ve legitimately NEVER had someone who wasn’t pleasant to deal with serve me and my friends some delicious treats. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure that our late night cravings are satiated. Just a few minute drive from the downtown Boston scene, insomnia cookies is always amazing. Well worth the short drive and absolutely delicious!

I just wanted to pop on to say the cookies are not a problem here. But the staff is. I went in at 9:30 to get some cookies for a snack, and in a room filled with 4 people, they called some one who was working in the back making the cookies to come out and take orders. Everyone else was on their phones. The guy that took our order was super nice, even gave us fresh cookies (I think Dimitri was his name or something?), but the woman working with him, never saw her name tag, but she told the poor guy to go to the back, and then not even a minute later, call him back out to take orders, because she had gotten a call on her cell phone. Like who does that on the clock? If she were working in any other restaurant she would have been fired. Pretty much everyone there, if they were in the front, they won’t talk to you. The staff needs a serious attitude adjustment.

Tried Insomnia Cookie for the first time after a Friday night Red Sox game. The line was pretty long and the store itself is pretty small inside but my friends and I stuck it out. I ordered one giant S’mores cookies. (I love that they warm it for you!)
My cookie came right out. GRAB A SPOON or fork to eat your cookie — they are goopy and unless you want to be covered in chocolate or melted cookie, use a utensil. That being said, I appreciate a good gooey cookie every once in a while but this one was borderline «raw». It felt too undercooked and like I was eating raw cookie dough (which a little of is ok but after a while you start feeling sick). I would have liked a little less «gooey» and like more crunchy cookie.
That being said, I’m sure the stresses of graduate school will bring me back to this place for another chance.

Props to Insomnia Cookies for pretty much being the only place you can get sweets at in the BU area past 11pm. The workers are friendly. The cookies are warm and buttery and soft and rich and amazing but honestly so overpriced ($ 1.60 for the small, $ 3 for the big one). Absolutely a once in a while thing to treat yourself with after a long day. I tried their ice cream today and that was actually priced reasonably. I opted for the medium and I wanted multiple flavors so it was awesome that they let me put both moose tracks and cookies n cream together. It was $ 5.05 but it was a generous scooping and the cup itself was also a fair size. The ice cream was standard. Although Insomnia prices are a bit on the steeper side, it’s definitely worth spoiling yourself once in a while.

Ok cookies and I’m sure it fills the need seeing as it’s in the middle of BU basically. The prices are a little steep and the cookies are ok, it seemed like the guy behind the counter needed a cookie himself or just an attitude adjustment = not that he was rude but just not pleasant or friendly — Dude your job is slinging cookies at least pretend to smile once in a while. I remember places like this when I was in college in Boston and Amherst (20 + ago now) and for some reason I remember those as being better?! Maybe nostalgia or maybe they were better I just don’t know. You can walk right by the place but if you have a cookie craving make the stop and try them out.

okay, $ 3 for a cookie is a bit ridiculous for me. yes, it was gooey, buttery, and delicious, but damn… $ 3?! You can buy Tollhouse cookie dough for that price and bake it yourself for that. But I guess if you’re craving for something at 2am in the area, Insomnia Cookie is the way to go.

Mmmmmmm… Oven fresh baked chocolate chip cookies… *drool* this place is so yummy!!! Maybe I just had a fluke really good experience but my trip to insomnia cookie was the bomb!
The worker there (didn’t get a name but was a girl) was soo nice and patient with me. Lord knows how picky and annoying I can be to deal with. Anyhoo, she let me try out a multitude of ice cream flavors because I wanted to make a chipwhich. I tried about 4 different ice cream flavors before I decided on just plain olé vanilla. Despite the fact the vanilla was a plain olé kind, it was still surprisingly very tasty and not too sweet. All the ice creams were yummy. Of course the REAL treat lies in the… COOOOKIEEESSSS!!! Mm​.Mm​.Mm.
Now I am a chocolate/​dessert fanatic so I may be a little more biased in my reviews when it comes to dessert but I ordered the Deluxe Triple Chunk Chocolate Cookie and omggg it was good. Granted it wasn’t something completely inventive and creative or new that blew my mind, but for an old fashioned chocolate chip cookie, man was this good. And it was a BIG cookie. Didn’t look like it on the display but when she pulled out that cookie and it sat in my hand I was like wow. The chocolate chunks were big chocolate chunks too. So big I typically wouldn’t get through one chunk in a bite. The cookies were perfectly crispy on the outside to just the right amount and soft, chewy, and gushy with chocolate on the inside. Mmm. And they were very very warm like right out of the oven kind. Yum.
Now I didn’t try the other flavors as my friend advised me against the Deluxe s’mores as its really sweet, but next time I shall go back and try the snickerdoodle with just the normal sized double chocolate chunk cookie. (I’m watching my calories ya know) Not that all that cookie eating is helping hahahaha. But whatever, I’ll never give desserts up! Anyway, visit this place. You won’t regret it!!!
And as a side bonus… They open late AND deliver!!! You can’t ask for anything more heavenly in the world.
